Half-Steve Duck-out: it's crazy how easy you make it look.

I'm trying to achieve all of these tricks you've posted for contact staff, on a normal wooden crook cane, any advice on making this journey any easier? i managed to get half steve and some other basics so far, but consistency is a problem, especially with the awkward balance of the cane, i was wondering if you have any basic advice for what I'm trying to achieve (which is basically adapting the contact staff tricks using another lighter faster more slippery medium) :p

what is the diameter of your staff? Also, can a staff be too heavy to learn on? I'm brand new and feel like mine is so heavy!

This looks so cool but I don't think I can do it cause I have long hair...every time I try neck wraps, the staff tangles around my hair and rips it out. *cries*

I prefer to keep a length 1-2 inches, 2.5-5cm shorter than your chin, the length of the floor to your chin. Make sure it clears your chin. This helps for 'caged' and 'inverted' movements, as well as keeps you from hitting the ground easily. Cheers

1.50 m max. I have the same height and have the longest staff for my hight but i like long ones. 1.40 is also a good length.
