      @@thehound9086 They do find gems in later rounds for sure, but even going back to the TT era, they do tend to whiff on 1-2 rd picks (Sherrod, Perry, Datone, Randall, Dix, Savage, King, Myers, etc.) which is especially frustrating when they often reach for those players and ignore better prospects (if you go by most of the media boards). I mean, imagine if their C was Creed Humphrey and not Josh Myers.

    Packers top 3 picks slot in as immediate starters and fill the teams biggest needs at OT, LB and S. Lloyd provides the dynamic RB2 that was missing but he needs to show he can pass protect or fans are going to flip out seeing Dillon getting snaps ahead of him. I don't love the value of the next few picks but the Packers identified guys they liked at positions lacking depth and they aggressively attacked them. Really like the first 4 picks but it feels like you could take any of those next 7 picks and put them in a hat to randomly draw one out to pick at any point since imo picks 5-7 might have been slight reaches but the 7th round looks like a couple steals. I'd love to know how big Green Bay's draft board is because listening to them discuss their picks they clearly are very cognizant about the person and emphasize team captains and locker room fit.
    To get an idea of the investment and level of talent the Packers have on defense, not only are the Packers spending twice as much of their salary cap on defense than on offense but they could have a starting lineup entirely made up of former 1st and 2nd round picks except for one! The exception being NB Keisean Nixon (assuming Bullard starts at S although if Bullard starts at NB the exception would be whoever starts at safety opposite McKinney). This would also require former 1st round pick Stokes to win the CB spot opposite Jaire as he'll likely need to compete with Valentine after his long injury hiatus. I'm rooting for Eric Stokes to come back strong despite many fans seemingly writing him off.

      That’s because DeJean isn’t a safety lol. And didn’t play safety at all in college. So of course he’s not going to show as much “physicality” on tape.

    • @Metalbass10000
      @Metalbass10000 Місяць тому +1

      All three S they drafted show above average willingness to be physical and tackle, Bullard shows a great propensity to make big plays in the big moments, especially in big games. I saw DeJean as a better fit at S than CB, particularly in this scheme, but I think Bullard could end up being a better player in the NFL.

    Some of the media has an issue with the Packers picking Jordan Morgan in the first round. Have they considered they picked at the bottom of the first, if they take let’s say LB Cooper first they risk loosing one of the better tackle who can move inside and play guard for some teams by the time the second round pick comes around.

    • @qaxcgyujm
      @qaxcgyujm Місяць тому +3

      I know some people keep wanting to compare it to Bahk considering his knee injury so some people hate it cause they see him as a risk but OT isn't a flashy pick either and ya really unless you pick one of the offensive lineman that you usually see go in the top 10 I feel like people tend to bash low first round linemen taken. If there's a team few people should question on o-line it's the Packers, like you said the Packers like versatility in their linemen so who knows if he ends up staying at OT.

    • @clintholmes2061
      @clintholmes2061 Місяць тому +1

      @@josephgleason6534 I'm just going to address the names you mentioned. There is legit far too much for me to want to get into as to why he is overrated in total.
      "watson" gute traded 2 second round picks for one and watson. And he hasn't been worth it as of yet.
      "doubs" was a great pick. and a great value. I said so at the time. Even a broken clock gets it right every now and then.
      "walker" Is a good player but was overdrafted.
      "love" It's not just about who you take it's about who you are trying to replace. The packers had rodgers, were just in an NFC championship game and were about to go to another. Instead of going allin on rodgers and trying to win a SB gute drafted like a team trying to rebuild and squandered a SB window in years where rodgers won MVPs. Gute bet against rodgers and lost that bet as bad as he possibly can.
      It's the same reason why penix was a terrible pick after investing in cousins. They should be going allin during what they see as a SB window and then... when you aren't in a SB window... then you should act like it.

    • @Droid6689
      @Droid6689 Місяць тому +4

      Care to explain why?
      He seems to do a pretty decent job despite always having picks in the bottom of the draft order. His sub-20 picks are Jaire Alexander, Rashan Gary, and LVN. 2 studs and a guy who looked sturdy as a rookie. His 2020 and 2021 drafts were a bit of a whiff unless Love and Stokes pan out, but other than that he's drafted multiple good/great players in each draft

      @@Droid6689 "multiple good/great players in each draft" I mean he should have some right? He not only had their regular picks but also had lots of extra draft capital after forcing the HOFers he inherited out of town.
      I'm again only going to address the specific names you mention...
      "alexander" great pick. handled his second contract terrible and made sure the packers paid him at an absolute premium.
      "gary" Great pick. He should hit sometimes right?
      "LVN" Great player with a bright future but will never be as big an impact as j carter would have been if the packers traded up to get him.
      "Love" Like I already said he could be a first ballot HOFer and it's STILL a questionable pick because of who was already on their roster. He bet against rodgers. And lost.
