Oh David how wonderful to see your grandfather driving Britannia 70000. My grandfather was driving the Ford Castle, but you can't see him. He never spoke about it to me during his life, and it was only after his death that my father told me. It must have been such a sad experience for them, especially to see the route lined by people in mourning. Grandad was a very humble man and I imagine that he was deeply touched by the experience and felt unable to talk openly about it.

    Hi Paul
I have just found this memorable video, I think it is great, especially as my grandfather was the driver of Britannia 70000 that day, you can see him lean out of the window near the end of the movie.
I am about to upload a 2nd video of Britannia that I shot down here, on her visit to Torbay a few weeks ago, do you have any objection of me including a link to your YTsite?
    David (Lighthouse Films)

    Hi there,
I was wondering if you cold help me - I'm looking for who the copyright holder might be of the footage of the Britannia pulling into the station, so I could use it in a project I'm working on. Would be grateful for any help you can give me!
    Thanks.

I'm afraid I have no idea who owns the copyright as I copied this (two separate clips) from TV documentaries on The Royal Family. As this is over 60 years old it could be out of copyright. Sorry I can't help more.
