I remember watching these videos over and over as a kid, big nostalgia.
Thanks David, love you man.
Same here🙂
same man
After purchasing all of the items David mentioned, I am now homeless. Fortunately, I have this kit.
Haha
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else wants to discover
survival food
try Franaar Spies Control Formula (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my mate got cool results with it.
hahaaaaaaaaaa!
Nice kit. Based on your views, I think you are doing this full-time so it would be great to see you take a kit like this, out in the the woods (somewhere you may not be familiar with) and do a video showing you using this type of kit to survive. Even if there are failures, it would be good to see and learn from them.
Its not that great of a kit and he is definitely not the real deal.
This has been the most thorough and complete "Bug Out" survival video, on getting a basic survival gear pouch that contains the most gear, yet as compact as you'd need, in order to have the essentials, without the additional weight, that I've watched, ever! I loved it. Thank you!
Sling shots are great but the rubber goes bad in less than a year.
So I got a $90.00 cross bow. Its bigger but it will last.
Pocket shot is the way to go my man
Replace it once a year, very cheap to do.
Man this one is by far one of the best all around wilderness survival kits that covers all the bases. I would add a wooden rat trap for small game to complete it .
Why do people put so many negative comments? I love your videos and have probably watched this video 30 times. Thanks David
Not only are your videos informative but I like the way you always put the link to everything that you're reviewing. There are a lot of reviewer's that don't do that. Thanks
Ed Rodriguez Really appreciate your comments. It's great to know that the links are helpful to you. They are a LOT of work to generate... especially when there are that many components in a kit like this. But I want to make it easy for your guys to build your own stuff... So... it's good to hear your comment. Thank you my friend! ~David
thanks for saying hi to me about 16 months ago outside Yellowstone
This is the best survival/bug-out pouch setup I have ever seen! Thank you!
Wow! Love the versatility of everything you packed into this! Just found your videos and find them very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to do these.
Great video David
What I love most about your videos is how extensive and thorough they are on the step by step how to put it all together.
The detail on building these kits is wonderful it's just a "hey look what's in my bag" there are thousands of those on you tube.
Keep up the great work
And Semper Fi!
I love that small survival kit you did man. Great kit!
MIND BLOWN ! This single video might be your best video ! great job David Thank you
My additions to your great video - add small ziploc baggies with small amount of chia and flax seeds and rice. Also don't strike the fero rod with the blade side of the knife. The edge of the blade back is sufficient and won't dull the blade. Great vid!
Thanks David! I will be watching more of your videos and using your link to buy some great on Amazon. Appreciate the work you put into doing these survival reviews and tips for us all. Blessings to you and your family!
Thank you for all that you do. You were part of my inspiration and my learning in survival. Thank you 🌱👀🌱
this was great man! I could even here the smile in your voice at the end. Great kit!
well done! lots of work in this video, and it shows you know what you're doing. thanks for sharing.
Great video!!! love all the products thank you for the time and effort you put in this video. It gave me what I need it extra for my bug out bag.
Love your vids - practical, common sense based, and incredibly informative. I love the way you recognize your audience may have an opinion or two and suggest where things can be adjusted based on their tastes. Keep up the good work!
i found this video very helpful thanks David ., really dig the sling shot option i carry one in my bag as well.. i do use the vertical Altoids tin to carry my ammo it holds 60 rounds (3/8") comfortably.. so now building this kit gave me more space in my bag!
Brilliant David...ile be watching all your videos..!!
I love this video. I have almost everything in it. Great for a bug out bag but a bit heavy for backpacking. Great ideas David, you're a real pro.
Awesome and thorough, as always. THUMBS UP!
Great video loved the compact size survival kit you blew my mind with the take down arrows
One of the most well thought out kits I've seen, thanks!
Thanks for the really well thought out video! I've greatly enjoyed the modular kit videos you've put out.
Great concept, well thought out, stands the test of time as this video is already 8 yo n I think it's amazing. Great effort just like the MSK-1.
Thanks for sharing David
Nice kit! I think that I would've chosen a different slingshot & arrows though. The Pathfinder Pocket Hunter is a really good system, and it has an arm brace that, in my experience, makes it far easier to shoot, You can also get bands for it with up to 50lb pull weights, and the version from the Pathfinder Store has an attachment for bow fishing as well. The Pathfinder Store also has three piece carbon arrows with very little run out, and they have a specific take-down fishing arrow and arrow head. The Pocket Hunter was also designed specifically to fin into the cargo pocket of many types of cargo pants.
Gunslinger454 Thanks bro. So yeah... on the Pathfinder Pocket Hunter? It certainly would not fit in this kit. WAY, WAY to big and bulky! I do have one with Dave's arrows, extra bands, pouch... the whole deal... as I do Chief AJs and a few others. So... Do you have Dave's Pocket Hunter? Sounds like you do. If so... I would LOVE to see how you shoot it accurately. I have had mine for a while and still can't get the thing on target even with his arrows... and following his instruction. Normally I can get about any accurate weapon on target within a few shots... but not the pocket hunter. I would appreciate any help or advice you can give. I am frankly very frustrated with the thing... Thanks man! ~David
UltimateSurvivalTips I didn't really consider the bulk, but you're right. It is quite a bit bulkier than the one in your kit. The arm brace takes up a lot of extra room, but I've never been able to shoot a slingshot very well without one, so I put up with it. It took me quite a while to learn to shoot the Pocket Hunter with any kind of accuracy, and I'm still not as accurate as I need to be, but the only advice I can really give is to keep at it. I know that's not all that helpful to you, sorry.
I don't have a background in traditional archery or in regular slingshot shooting. In this case that may have actually been an advantage though since I didn't have to learn something that works differently than what I already knew, but since I've never fired any other sling-bow systems I can't really say how it's different. If it really is that different from the sling-bows you're used to, and you're happy with those, it might not be a bad idea to find someone who needs one & give it away so that you don't unlearn those while learning the Pocket Hunter. Habits learned on one system transfer all too readily to other systems, especially the bad ones!
As for me I just followed Dave's directions and kept at it until the arrows started going in the right direction. The only one of Dave's arrows that I have so far is the fishing arrow, and I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet. Right now I'm using the same 1-piece carbon arrows that I use with my compound bow. I just had the vanes on several of them replaced with feathers. Vanes don't work with the Pocket Hunter System, at all. I know that Dave warns against using them, but I had to try it just to see for myself. He's right; vanes don't work! The only thing I really did differently than what Dave recommends is that I started using my old hand-held rope release that I use with my compound bows in order to take a lot of the stress off of my fingers when shooting the Pocket Hunter. Unfortunately I got that release back in '98, and I haven't seen one like it for sale in probably ten years or more. That sucks too, because I really like that type of release! Still, I'd think that any release you like should work just fine. I wish I could be more help!
BTW, sorry that it took so long to get back to you. Somehow I just missed your reply.
Damn!!! Super packed pack! Thats an art in itself sir!! 😀😀😀😀😀
You guys always have THE best survival video presentation on the internet!
excellent. ..im.geting mine ready for HURRICANE season...and teams up with 72 hr . bug out bag..thanks again .mark
south Louisiana
Between this video and the canteen/Sawyer system video you have saved me a good deal of space and weight in my hiking pack, which by the way is a Condor 3 day assault pack I bought after your review of it, my fall hiking set up will be the most organized ever and I have been doing this for 40 years.
Manhood101 Sweet!
It's about time somebody gave the humble Mag-lite Solitaire LED a look. I have one and fell in love over again.
Theodore Sloat Agreed. This is a really nice little light. It's hard to find a quality single battery flashlight... and the Solitaire is it for sure. ~D
Put the inculded lanyard on it and hold the light in your left hand (if you are right handed). Now wrap the lanyard around the back of your first three fingers and put the keyring around the lens bezel of the light. There! Quasi hands free, and when you walk it shines in your pathway with very little efort.
That kit is cool as hell. I gotta get one put together myself.
Wow...great gear and kit. I love the sling bow.
that was real nicely organised little kit.. good job
Thanks for another great video! I have four of those condor packs that I use for water and gear storage. I have two them mounted on the sides of one pack as you have and on the waist pads of another pack for balance. They will hold a 32oz. Nalgene bottle nestled in a stainless cup and a bunch more kit in the front pouch and still have room for more stuff if you attach it to the mollie straps around the outside with "S" biners and/or paracord.
great use of that little canteen holder .
Dam.. and that was only the small one, my dad never took me hunting or camping so i love watchimg this videos, keep up the good work 😀
My dad has never taken me our hunting, camping, or fishing either. Thankfully I have, through other means, gone on many different survival treks and camps.
mate the best idea I have seen, definitely pinching this idea thanks for sharing.
I'm pressed good video!
I like what you done here in that it can always be added and modified!
A good alternative to the gas stove, some sporting goods stores sell survival stoves that burn wood. They're basically five sheets of stainless steel (or titanium) that you fit together into a box, then add two strips more on the top to make a stove top for cooking. It might be too wide to fit in your kit, but one advantage, it uses wood so you don't have to find another gas canister when it runs out. The steel ones run about $42, while the titanium ones run about $80.
Very good and informative video as always. Keep them coming!
I want to be positive on this very nice and informative video. I love the links and items listed. I really didn't need 100% of the items but I just took the advice on the videos and really love the bag and cooking kit. I didn't realized you can do this until watching this videos and all the items listed. Thank you so much!!! And PLEASE KEEP UP The GOOD WORK! Not everyone can present a video with all these good items in clarity. And again, Thank you so much!!!
Awesome kit. Probably gonna try to assemble something similar
Great ideas....I love the Coleman Camp Cook Set, I have one, it is awesome. I prefer the ToGoWare kit, which has a holder for the bamboo knife, spoon, fork and chopsticks which can be hung from your pack with a carabiner or looped through the molle. Great tip for carrying the slingshot ammo in the chapstick containers - genius
Absolutely superb vid David, loving your uploads lately especially the recent water carry one! Thanks for sharing
Rookie Outside Thank you bro. I am humbled by your kind words. ~David
Very smart what you chose and how it all fitted inside it👌
Wow nice load out. Thx much gotta pick up that pouch and sling bow. Bad ass.
That was great thank you. You are amazing. thank you for listing all the items. Normally i have to take notes when watching a video. thank you.
that looks like a very good kit
Hi david what an awesome kit , i'am going to put one of these togather cheers for showing this brilliant .atb martin
Excellent video. Thanks for products list in the description too. : )
so clear and on point!! blessings sir !!
This is one of your best videos ever, great job.
Great video, thanks to share with us, i already started to prepare my kit like your David.
Franklin from Dominican Republic
Hello David, A small wood stove would also fit in the pouch and will give you a longer ability to cook. I would also replace the gas burner with the "Notkocher M71", I think this could give you more space for some other food. I ordered the other parts how you describe it, thank you for this !
buy a collapsible fishing rod too and replace one of the arrows with it
Definitely going to be using this
solid nice kit David
That is a Great kit you have put together. Thanks for the great video.
Michael Smith Thank you Michael.
I see you added tea bags... great if you're a "Brit" and it's 4:00 o'clock. There are also "coffee" bags in foil packages from Folgers and Kroger stores for that sense of well being one needs while trying to survive. A few hard candies, peppermints are good to sweeten hot drinks and help w/ upset stomachs. All in all though a pretty good selection of gear. Thanks.
You rule man. I love your videos and they are very educational. Thank you very much. Greetings from Guatemala.
risilca Gracias mi amigo...
To: Ultimate Survival Tips - Awesome video. I own a Sling shot and practice with it regularly. If preppers practice with it they should be able to hunt small game easily. If they have never used one they will not be able to hit small game with it.
Cool cooking kit
great video, will be doing this kit.
Great tips! Enjoyed the video!
Hey Dave. I saw this video a few weeks ago. Just started making one for myself. i love the idea and set it into motion. I have made a few mods for my kit. But thanks for the idea. Keep up the good work and thank you for the idea. Shadow Force 1.

Wow...=) that looks awesome man. Thanks for sharing and take care..
***** My pleasure bro!
este fue el kit mas completo que vi hasta el momento, con este kit podes sobrevivir 1 mes sin problemas XD.
exelente
great, good one, UST
I never thought of weaving the paracord through the molle webbing. A way you could improve that is using Bladehq's Prepcord that has the normal 7 inner strands but also has a strand of 10 pound test fishing line through the whole cord. So if you weave 30 feet in your molle you have 30 feet of paracord and 30 feet of fishing line.
yes man! 3:30 in and I can see you've done ur homework! thank you for a valuable chanel!
Hi David I'm new to youtube and I really enjoy your videos and I find them very helpful keep up the good work!!
