As someone share one form of intersex Im always intersected in what other peoples life experiences are. I too have had many health issues related to my intersex. That hurt me very much because my life has worth. I realize what she was trying to convey but deep down there was deeper meaning
This is so interesting to me. I wish the bigotry of the past didn’t make some our elders so ashamed of themselves, we’d have so much more open knowledge! Thank you all for the insight ✌🏾
Chimerism in humans doesn’t exclusively happen between twins. It’s less common but possible for there to be a mix up in dna exchange from the mother to the fetus in the womb. Either through the placenta/umbilical chord or from the uterine walls cells. However the result is more or less the same so when it comes down to it is it even a big deal to bring this up? Maybe. Guess it depends on the audience and what they could benefit from that information
Yay, so glad you're able to make more of these. The whole bit with the different things affecting the immune system, I've also heard about from fat activists where they point to studies about the stigma of just being fat in the world can in itself lead to health issues. Hi Hans, This was a really great interview. It's great to see you back on UA-cam. On one of your other online sites, you mentioned that state legislatures are passing harmful legislation while a lot of people aren't paying to them since everyone is so focused on the coronavirus. Would you consider doing a video on this topic? I have seen some underhanded legislation get passed to and I would like to share some of that info with you if you are interested in learning about it. The particular legislation to which I am referring does not relate to intersex issues, but the fact that government officials and representatives are using the COVID-19 scare to overstep their constitutional limits is very concerning to me? Thanks, Marlo
Hi Marlo, thank you! Yeah, this is very concerning. On social media I've talked a lot about Idaho and HB 500, having to do with sex testing discrimination in athletics. Have heard that a lot of other states are using it to pass things through quietly too. :( Would definitely love to talk about this. Happy to get any info, curious which other legislation you've been following.

Super complicated, hehe. From what I know, some small number of intersex people do consider it that way for themselves. Being intersex is a major experience that imprints on gender, so if someone feels that way, they might call it that for themselves. But broadly when I see it being talked about, that train of thought seems just less common.
For me, my intersexness greatly effects my experience of gender, to the point where I (privately) describe myself as being intergender, while outwardly fulfilling the male social role. I would not say most intersex people think of themselves that way however, even if their intersex-ness does significantly effect them.
intersex is not a gender, gender is what you identify as. Intersex is an biological condition. Intersex people identify as any gender, same as people who aren't intersex????
A genetic testing would tell you if you are or not a chimera. The doctor will do any testing from youre hair, skin, blood, saliva or any parts of youre body more than one DNA.
no, XXY is a different thing, is not chimera. XXY is Klinefelter syndrome. Alice is the girl whose an intersex chimera with XX/XY, you obviously didnt listen what they were saying in the video????
You are all so young. I am rather old, and when I grew up, nobody knew anything about intersex. I was AMAB, and really don't know if I was medically manipulated on, but I neverdevelope ay secondary male sex characteristics, and my body slowly feminized. Nobody really knew why, and I was yod that some peope are just different, and I was one of them. I later in life transitioned ito a female, but the health insuranve required that gender dysphoria had to be diagnosed for them to pay anything. Intersex as such was no reason to have any surgery. So, yes, for any medical specific treatment one has to be diagnosed to be transsexual, intersex has no weight.
@@azarahwagner2749 huh, ("but if you are intersexed you are not transgender by definition"). You are wrong.
