The Signature trim has Nappa leather, GT and GT Reserve should have leather. Most mainstream brand will have soft touch plastics in the top of the cabin, and then lower grade, hard plastics in the mid to lower part of the dash and doors. Mazda is the best in fit and finish at the moment in the mainstream market in my opinion. Reliability has been top notch, even Consumer Reports ranks them #1 in this year's report.

My friend picked me up in one of these once, think it was his mum's work car at the time. At the time I thought it was pretty plush, and very nice inside.

You should do more such reviews. These are the vehicles that people buy. The market for luxury cars is much smaller, and the demand for popular or regular cars is much greater. I'm sure there are more people who would like to see reviews of Mazda, Hyundai, Toyota, Volkswagen, etc.

The turbo versions of these are a blast to drive. Great torque low down, effortless.

The CX5 isn't their newest model and I think you can see them moving towards being a semi-luxury brand in the new 3 and CX30.
Nothing has real leather in this price range and I don't think it's a big deal if the seats feel nice.

These reviews are fantastic! Even if you do some of the same cars that you’ve done before I’d be happy watching them because it would be interesting to see if squeakiness changes between different cars among the same model. Cadillac is my favorite brand, I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing more of those since you work at one of their dealerships 😄

It does has some potential this car. Build Quality is close to exemplary but the materials are a little bit mixed. (well on this particular model because I dont know what will the higher spec versions will be like) Keep Up the good work! It's very satisfying to watch.

Finally a Mazda! I expected it to be a bit better, like a "japanese Audi" maybe but its not on that level yet in my opinion.
The 2020 Mazda 3 has the latest Mazda interior, maybe that one better. Hope you get to test it one day :)

Build quality is very neat! Same kind of interior on the Mazda 3 and 6 from those years, but it hey at least its not going to rattle around on bad roads or some speedbumps.

I really like Mazda's approach on design and engineering, it's definitely worth having a look because it's not the typical mainstream kind of brand it seems to be.
In comparison with the new 3, CX-30 and the current 6, the CX-5 it's definitely worse. You should try a 2020 Massa 3! Btw, Mazda sells really good in Chile, you can see them everywhere

Definitely check out a 2020+ Mazda3 and also an MX-5. For the segment, they're both impressive! And I own one of them ;)

That hard plastic is replaced with soft touch in the higher trim models.

Great reviews man. If you come across a newer Lexus ES 330 you should do a review. I’m interested in buying one.

Mada is probably competing with Volkswagen. A signature CX-5 would be comparable to a Tiguan R line for example. But wouldn't say anywhere close to Lexus, or even new Acura (2019+ RDX for example).

the weakest point of those is the suspension. They develop knocking sounds quite early among all models. The internet is full of people complaining about this issue. I have a CX3 that is only 6 months old and has 8.000km done and it has this kind of knocking.
Another big issue in my opinion is the sound insulation. I had a small 20 years old Volkswagen before and the Mazda CX3 isn´t that much quieter. The Mazda engines might be good. But all in all the cars aren´t really great in my opinion. You can feel that the quality simply isn´t there. And they are VERY far away from luxury brands like Audi or Lexus. The driving experience simply isn´t comparable.
