  • Welcome back to the channel!
Today we revisit my Hyper VSE cheap 4s build from March 2021 and talk about why it is still a solid choice to get into 1/8 Scale whilst remaining on a tight budget!
This build only cost me £220 which is cheaper than a brand new Hyper VSE Roller and a lot of 1/10 RTR's!
Original Build Video here: • This CHEAP Hyper VS 4S...
Skatepark Bash Video here: • CHEAP Hyper VS 4S Buil...
I had a lot of love for the hyper 7 which is why I have missed it all these years! I am firmly into brushless these days and a hyper VSE seemed like the best way to go!
These buggies are well known for being ultra durable and at the price I paid it was too good of an offer to turn down!
Who wants to see this beast on 6s?!
Here is a complete list of parts I used on this buggy:
    Hobbywing Max 8 ESC - www.banggood.com/Hobbywing-Ez...
    ARRMA 4075 2000kv Motor - (Discontinued)

Hope you enjoyed this cheap build total cost: £220 without batteries :)

Great car I've had it for 2.5 years. The new VS2 is basically the same car with a bunch of upgraded parts, a new body and new front suspension.

The VSE is an awesome (race ready) buggy. I bought one new last year for my first race car and it has held up and performed wonderfully. Great vid 👊

What do you think of Hobao? The Hyper 7 is still one of my favourite RC Buggies of all time and i love my Hyper VSE! Doing something like this is definitely a great idea as you can save hundreds and have a buggy just as good and capable as the more expensive stuff. Spares are available and these things are built like tanks!! Be sure to subscribe to the channel if you haven't already. Next giveaway will be the 20k Giveaway and i will announce all the info at 17k! This is still a good few months away but just letting you know it will be happening! 😎👍

love the VSE, just converted to a vs2 front suspension and steering setup, handles so good. I'm running a castle mmx 6s / 1512 2650kv with a 19t pinion. Highly recommend the hobao extended hubs and a set of badland 2.8 mx's (the thinner ones) for really good air control. Double flips with ease.

Couple of years ago, I bought 60 Eur LRP sc 2wd body, I put 10 Eur servo and goolrc esc 60a + 3800kv motor to that. Then I got old transmitter and receiver (flysky gt2b 30 Eur) I remember that there was 23t pinion and 52t spur. With 3s: 48,78 miles in hour!!!

Absolutely! It's surprising how much you can get for the money on the 2nd hand market! If I waited for an ESC to come up, I think it would have been even cheaper!! A 6s capable car for under £200 imagine that haha

I can honestly vouch for Hobao RC's. I own a few of them, They are as tough as nails, easy to work on and with the right config, absolutely mad as a cut snake. On my daily go to buggy being a 1/8, Hyper 7 ex nitro converted to a 6s capable system, I'm running 4s 8000mAh 100c ''shorty'' packs from Zeee (Ovonic have the same size) and we have clocked it at 105 kph on the hard sand down the beach. Its running Louise B-Rock tyres meant for hardcore rally dirt stages which the diameter is like gearing it up further without changing the pinion out. 30,000 in the front and back and 100,000 in the center. She bites seriously hard. These things are built like tanks and most of the hardware is compatible with some Arrma parts but in my honest opinion, My Hobao's are more durable and I absolutely run them hard, I'm not a skate park flyer, I drive them, They take an absolute beating, I will continue to collect any I find until the day I die. It's nice to have all the big Arrma RC's, both on road and offroad in which I own, But these things are in a separate cage... Once you own one you will see why. Great video as always mate... God bless and take care all. PEACE 👊👊🙏

Very nice build, I have been seeing more of these vehicles out there lately. Specially in speedrun builds, 130mph+!!
Great budget can be achieved if you're patient & search 🔎 really well. I personally prefer a nice roller that I can build & tailor myself to my liking, whether used or new. RTRs are great for beginners who aren't very sure at what they want or how to build & modify a vehicle mainly so they still have their place.
    Great vid bro! 😎👍

Check out msuk forum (modelsport UK forum) not sure if you are UK based but they have a great bunch of guys on there who post some great stuff for sale and that's where I found the chassis and motor for this build! Glad you enjoyed. Cheers

I used to have a JLB Cheetah (50+ 3s around 70 4s) Useless piece of cheese-i have now gutted it, and a Hobao roller is what i have been thinking about for the Motor/esc-this just confirms its a good idea-Going to look for a Truggy roller though! Already got a Dumbo x6 and a couple of spare rx's, already got batteries, only need the roller!

Its great on 4s and plenty fast enough. The ESC can handle 6s and i have no doubt the buggy would hold up but part of me does think its unnecessary!

No offense but this build is kinda pointless as an option to the rest of us. You got a abnormal deal on the hyper vse. None of us will find one around 100$

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  2 роки тому +2

None Taken but the point I am making here is cheap deals can and will come up on the used market it may be rare but it does happen. I paid £95 here in the UK which is about $130 we have to remember the currency conversions are at play with the pricing. Lets consider a budget slightly higher than what I paid I still think its possible to put together a bulletproof buggy that is quick, well built, durable and looks great whilst still being half the price of a Arrma Equivalent. You may not agree but this was a project I wanted to see if I could pull off and again I did with a lot of Luck!
