Rice is not particularly nutritious. It is mostly “empty” calories that quickly break down to sugar in the bloodstream. It gives a quick burst of energy but it does nothing much to maintain the body’s tissues, chemistry and functions. In countries where people normally eat rice, they have a lot of good vegetables to go with it, which are full of nutrients.

It heads to Europe, and mainly though Russia. Secondly, for anything that leaves Russia by sea. Those military bases are what enables the U.S. to protect Global trade. You might not like the U.S. wars, but if you look at where those bases and wars occurred, it is along Global shipping routes. Also, in the 70 years since the U.S. started patrolling those routes, fewer people died in wars than in any period in the history of the last 500 years. More people have been lifted out of poverty since 1945 than ever in history as well. Before, Imperialism was the way of the world, and now the Imperial Age is over. Now, Globalism is going away. We walked several miles in the rice paddies infested with snakes sometimes and our only light guiding us was the bright full moon. I only went a few months to volunteer but I can't imagine our town midwife doing that every day. She was a brave old lady. From America I've been fascinated how the Russian villagers in rural Russia have been forgotten. Something similar but not as drastic happens in the USA as farmtowns, logging towns, mining towns lose jobs and population. The small towns wither away, but still have a sense of infrastructure. Meaning they still have streets, power, water. However, we don't have the services of medical, grocery stores, and other businesses close up and move out, and some of our schools have been closed and consolidated. The difference is that our rural towns left abandoned are still assessable, even though they're more isolated than the urban cities etc. But I understand what these rural Russians are going through seeing their town dying, with their local economy dried up, and young people moving on, with stores and schools closed. Our situation isn't as extreme. I think Russia's massiveness and the fall of the Soviet Union as created a situation that has left these rural people abandoned. *I wish that Russia's ministry would open up the Collective Farms again under different management to find some type of industry for rural people that the nation could benefit from. Such as farms, lumber mills, mining. It scares me he said they were incorporated into an environmental park. I live in a logging town and grew up on a farm so I can relate to this man's story in a way. Our lumber mill was closed down in the 1980's. Part of that reason is the Environmental Groups took over the Forest Service and ended all timber management on federal lands. Our government prefers to watch our timber burn ever year that let our people harvest and manage our forests.

Thank you, Sergei! You actually treat these people like you would treat your family. God bless you. Did they ever find out what happened to Dima? I go to sleep thinking about that and Tanya. But your heart was torn to pieces. Much love to you and your family and all the helpers. I've really started caring about you all. Thanks for posting these videos. I feel so badly for all these people, especially the elderly. I will always miss Dima and Grandmother Lida. Again, God bless you!!!💜💜💜🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹

It sounds like the government is saying that they will take care of the settlements but they really want this settlement to get abandoned so that they can take it over completely within the national park. This is a common way in which governments operate. They don't want that village to still exist, they want to clear it out and make it a beautiful boating and tourism place. You heard the man say how beautiful it is there in the summer. Now that there are only 4 residents left, they are dreaming of how it will be when the last resident leaves. If something is not done quickly, this property will be taken over completely once the last resident leaves or dies. This is the governments plan, they will make the conditions almost unbearable and then take over once the last of the people are gone. This land is much more valuable than the government is letting the people know. I think you will have a tough time really helping these people. Even if you had the money and resources to bring in a road or bridge, they will probably try to stop you by using fines, laws and park rules to make it almost impossible. Good luck and God bless. 🙏👍

So....the Russian government punishes the children & grandchildren of these villagers for visiting their families? Why? Is because they think that will give those few that remain that much more of an incentive to leave, than they can claim whatever's left? Sure seems so.

Here in the USA the Government shut off power to people's homes in Yosemite Park. The Gov then forced the people out of the trailer park and would not allow them to return to their homes. Many families lost everything. One women even committed suicide due to it. Russia isn't the only country with a broken Gov. Here in the USA it is also broken.

This sounds exactly like what happens in Canada in the Arctic. There are residents that love there but the last remaining members of the bloodline are the only ones allowed to live there. They are in protected lands and the government is just waiting on the last of them to die off. They don’t want anyone living there so they make life difficult and are trying to force them out.

I don't know how is the russian government or the local authorities expect to see, read, hear any patriotic speeches about the life in Russia and more over to expect these people's children delivered willingly to defend the country's front lines knowing that the rest of the population which lives in the province suffers like this. I watched quite a lot of your videos and I don't have the exact words to describe the level of my despair witnessing all this.
I hope you'll be ok in the future, Sergei, you're a good guy and I'll be honest - when I was young (around 18-20 years old) I wished I had a true friend like you beside me at the times when I lived in Russia. Wish you all the best and an easy way through the wilderness during your journeys across the country. You're doing an amazing job out there and you definitely need to get a few more noble people like you on your team to get things going easier and faster.
    Cheers, Sergei.

Sergei, what you are doing is so important. We love you for it. Thank you for helping the less fortunate. It is very sad how people are treated. Most Governments think only Rich, Powerful and the one's with money matter. But simple people (the working class) build a society and help it grow.
