This video needs an update. Obsidian chests guarantee an epic at least once every ten chests now. And there is a discounted price on packs of 10 how does this effect that
I love that your doing these videos that no other UA-camrs are doing. The other videos on Archero are just them playing through a chapter with no audio while you give good tutorials that help people improve.

never realised there was people who made videos about this game, tbh it is pretty addicting and good for reflexes lol
I currently have epics of:
- scythe (third epic)
- tornado (first epic)
- vest of dexterity
- golden chestplate (second epic)
- phantom cloak
- scythe mage
- elf
- bear ring
and I am one common living bomb away from epic living bomb. I had the scythe, elf and tornado from obsidian and rest from golden chests. I also was offered an epic tornado for 720 gems by a vendor (it was way back, now epics are offered at 2k gems each) when I had zero epics. I was also offered golden chestplate, scythe and one other item. also, by the time I got epic scythe, I was two green scythes away from the epic (I'm still one common scythe away from the second epic scythe). So, if you want to get epics fast: I can say it is: vendors > obsidian chests > golden chests. If you want to get more epics in the long run, it's vendors > golden chests > obsidian chests. In short: Do not buy obsidian chests. Considering that I used up all my gems on buying obsidian chests and didn't buy any golden chests (barring two instances of me accidentally buying golden chests), buying golden chests is also a bad idea. Just save up for vendors, it's better, faster, cheaper.

Hey! Yes very soon. It's such a hard chapter and I want to make it in-depth as possible. I was using the death scythe but I recently switched to the tornado for that chapter :)

I think other aspect worth considering is getting more items to help you farm and progress faster, so you can get more gems and rewards by completing chapter goals and whole chapters. But then it also depends a lot on how close you are to move to next tier with your item, if it's close, I think you should try and go for it or try to find the items through the vendor, if you are far away, it's better to save up ☺️
And also, would appreciate new calculations considering the 10 obsidian chest purchase for 2600 gems, because that could save even more gems, if one is patient enough. Is there article about this already made by someone? ☺️

Asking the real question here. I thought that was the most important factor here. Having a guaranteed epic if you save enough!

@superteeds: Is there a calc for 10 chest buy at 2600 gems
After you mentioned the item level percentages for golden and obsidian chests, I paused the video and immediately calculated that if you saved to 310 gems every time, on average, there would be 15,9% more worth from buying golden chests. Already thinking that I had solved the problem, I still decided to watch the rest, and I was really surprised by how in-depth you went in the video, and there was much more to consider. I certainly learned a lot, thanks!

I already knew that golden chests were more valuable because you can just stack the common items you get from drops in the stages. I got most of my epics from just upgrading common items from scratch. It's all a grind

I have both an epic scythe and tornado. I'm guessing use the tornado for chapter 7 because of the pierce and "bouncy wall" built into it?
Both works but I prefer the Tornado for Chapter 7 for sure. Yeah, don't grab pierce, bouncy wall, ricochet or headshot (headshot is useless in ch.7)
I would try to go for attack boost and attack speed boost with Tornado, wingman, extra life, shield & slow projectile! :)

I used the Obsidian method, got 3 epics! But if I knew of the item vendor method, I may of went that path. That's great! :D

Just wanna say that, to save for too long is losing potensial gear you couls farm faster with 😉
I had completely the same idea, I think that with considering this, it depends lot on how close you are to move to next tier with your item, if it's close, you should try and go for it or try to find the items through the vendor, if you are far away, it's better to save up ☺️

I have a level 8 great saw blade and I just got a common death scythe. Which is better? I’m also on chapter 3 but can’t beat the last boss.
The way to go about weapons is the rarity, you should always go with the higher rarity first (for example: great tornado vs epic bow you go with the bow). Unless you have weapons of the same rarity , you don't factor in the type.
If you have the same rarity of weapons (from best to worst)
1. Scythe
2. Tornado
3. Saw blade
4. Bow

and now there is a discount purchase of 10 obs chests for 2600, which is cheaper in terms of gems per chest than others, 260 per obs chest. thus with some patience it is possible to grind for that.

I am level 45 now and have never got epic item from obsidian chest! I only have bear and snake rings epic till now, my opsidian chests are mostly great (green) items and sometimes rare (blue) and i use all the gems on obsidian chest.
The epics from the vendor comes around 2000gems for me all the time. I cant imagine that this should be a good solution.
I wouldn't mind an update since the guarantee of the 10th item being an epic, I saved up 6k in gems trying to figure out where to spend them, lol

I just take obsidian. I double up on the same too often but it'll work out somehow. But the gem wheel sucks now

upgrade a epic from lv1 to 5 and upgrade a common from lv1 to 5 both need same amount of scroll , so if I upgrade an epic to lv5, and also upgrade a common to lv5, that common I merge until epic lv5, will that two epic lv5 be same in stat?
When you upgrade weapons up in rarity, they gain additional skills, and their damage gets buffed

item A, is lv 1 epic got from chest, I upgrade to lv5,
item B, is lv1 epic which I merge from common to great then rare then epic, then upgrade it to lv5 epic
item C, is lv5 common, then I merge it great rare then epic and have it as a lv5 epic
so in the final result these 2 item A,B and C all are lv5 epic , will their stat like atk +300 all be same?
@@rongsen108 okay here's an example, you have an epic bow lvl 10 and it has 300atk
If you get the bow from the box it will have 300 atk
If you you merge from common to get the bow to epic, it will still have 300 atk
It doesn't matter how you get the bow to epic, it will have the stats of an epic.

It makes your weapon's projectiles slower. It's great when you have slow and compact enemies, while not good with fast enemies
@@dreamninja9668 I thought it was for slowing down enemy projectiles. They seem to be slower IMO. I could be wrong
10 obsidian for 2600 gems is also good deal. My issue with golden chest method is you waste lvling mats on great or rare gear, then if higher lvl drops you have to still farm 3 copies of the rarity you lvled then fuse in order to get scrolls refunded. Basically. I got epic snake ring, but the 15 levels into rare version were a waste. If you just go for epic with obsidian, you won't waste as many materials unless you just only use lvl 1 gear forever.

I opened 2600 gem ×10 obsidian chest, i got 2 epics and only 2 great(green) with 6 rare(blue), since obsidian has 6% chance of epics, my fiest time 2600 gem chest would be 20%, i hope someone has the percentage of rarity for that chest too, it takes super long for you to reach 2600...
So am I lucky for getting an epic from my first obsidian chest and getting that free skill epic talent first?
So i got the glory epic skill on my first level (free upgrade per match) and i watched my cousin play it for the firsr time and he got it too so i think its rigged

as an example of bad rng luck.... i am full epic equipped with another 5-8 epics in the inventory and i didnt get a single one of them through a chest. they are all from fusioning XD
Srr if I dont understamd your formular, but we need 27 of the same item to make an epic one, so if I need an epic item, of any kind, I think opening an obsidian chest will give me more chance :)
Yeah but do not forget the price, for 1 obsidian chest you can have 5 golden chest and 40 gems left, after that it's basic maths

I can't save up 800+ gems for 3 obsidian chest when I know I can already buy one. These dilemmas are sooo annoying! Maybe I should go for the golden chest so at least I'll level up some of my equipments
