- WoW! You Will Want This One! Kizer Militaw Review & Testing. Kizer had been on a roll lately. They have released some really good stuff and even using more new steels this year. The Militaw is yet another Jonathan Styles design and he has been busy dropping several of his designs with Kizer and Kansept. In this video we will discuss the good, the bad and also do some real world testing to see how it performs. What are your thoughts on this new release?

I almost bought this one, but ended up jumping on the rex-45 bladed Mystic instead. Can't afford both this month, but maybe I'll grab this Miltaw next month. I'm trying to cut back to onlt 1 new knife a month..not all that successfully, but I'm trying! 🤣

Yea same issue here lol. I have the Miguron flix and giant mouse Ti Tribeca otw. And just got in a Ti kizer October,berg blades Sweeney, and Tuya mutt. Gotta tap out sometime haha

All I can say is… I want it!! I love this design and it is such a good price for the materials, aesthetics, and action. I already bought a couple of pricey pieces two days ago so i may have to wait on this one but it’ll definitely be in my collection soon.

Kizer loves to take a lot of my moneys! I have to say I love their designs and they put out a good quality knife. Looks like I may be giving them another $170 duckets lol.

My Militaw is very difficult to use the Flipper hole. Had it 7 weeks now, won't break in. Added a few drops of oil, but no change.
I still need the Varatas if it ever comes back in stock! Then they drop this and the Mystic. Kizer crushes it.
Nice video Stassa! The Militaw is strangely reminiscent of the Berg Blades Sweeney in looks. What do you think?

So I've wanted this knife ever since it came out but I didn't make it to it in time for the sites here in Canada. This knife is number one on my very long list of knives that I want LOL. Been checking the site's multiple times daily LOL and I made a comment on Instagram about how badly I wanted it. Jonathan Styles, the designer of the knife contacted me and let me know that he had one more in stock so I was able to buy it today. Very cool! Absolutely cannot wait to get it!
I bought the Militaw, it arrived yesterday. I really like it, $159, I find it extremely comfotable, beautiful blade and the action is remarkable. It's amazing that you used to have to spend a lot to get the action we get on so many knives now, except Olamic, maybe I have bad look with them.
I also got the Mystic, I'm experiencing unpredictable guillotine action, which I've never encountered, maybe 1 out of 5 times I close it but the other 4/5 times i have to give it a nudge, (Mystic). Also a fairly large feeling knife, (Mystic).
Yeah I’m testing the Mystic now and I am really hoping that they utilize it’s potential and that they don’t heat treat it to 59hrc so we can get the better edge retention but either way it’s a tough steel and we should be able to use it hard without worrying about getting edge damage 👍🍻🍻

The Militaw is more hand filling for sure and I do like the extra size but there both so good I’m glad I didn’t have to choose one or the other lol 👍 let me know what you think about it when you get it 🍻🍻

Anybody know if anyone makes custom inlays for the Militaw? I missed the drop on the black/Fat Carbon one, but I managed to snag the original Militaw instead. I tend to prefer the dark titanium look of the original, but the plain Micarta inlay is a little lackluster for me. I think it would look absolutely fantastic with a weave CF or Fat Carbon inlay, or anything besides plain Micarta. I did a google search ultie times with no luck. I still LOVE the aesthetics of it just the way it is, but a custom inlay would take it to the next level!

I can only afford one of these, and while the Militaw is nice looking in design and a good size/price, I’m thinking I’m gonna go with the Veritas! It’ll be a little while before I can afford it so maybe I’ll change my mind, time will tell!
Im a huge Kizer fan but that kinfe is $169 with s35vn, which is a great steal. However, i just bought an Ameight morad 2 in titanium and s90v for $159. Before that, i got a Miguron keyrex 2 in titanium and m390 for $169. Both knives are just as good if not better than my numerous premium Kizer knife. With what Kizer is charging they need to step it up. With that being said im looking foward to checking out the Mystic in rex45

@Stassa23 me too! I'll be looking forward to your video giving us the result. I've got no problem with what they're asking for the knife as long as the heat treat is right. I've done seen a drop bear or as tool addict dillinger called it the soft bear with a bad heat treat. In fact it was so bad they sent him a 20cv blade to replace the s35vn one on his WMK EXCLUSIVE Drop Bear
Miguron is an incredible value
That lock bar cut out must be a little different. The screw for the inlay looks like it's into the lock bar but it can't be.
If you watch 7:05 - 7:09 you can see the lock bar, it's actually cut from the middle of the handle as opposed to a more traditional framelock/bolsterlock being cut from the front.
Probably one of the better looking Kizers.
Does anyone have any info regarding availability? Sold out everywhere
How long did it take for the action to get that smooth? Can’t even flick it out using triangle.. using the flipper is all that’s working for me haha

@@Stassa23 I just took it apart and mothers mag qtip polished everything w/ the action on the inside and used some of my gun lube on every moving part and the difference is pretty insane now she’s buttery 👍🏼
@@fuhrman666 the Militaw doesn’t have a flipper though just a blade hole? Mine happened to come smooth like that out the box and I’m glad to hear that yours is good now because it definitely has the potential to be very smooth 🍻🍻

Nope, nothing inspiring here. Might as well be a Veritas or any number of similar knafs. Boring.
I like it because it’s a bigger than the Varatas but I wish both had a lower tip on them so doing tip work would be easier but there isn’t much now days that really gets me excited except for a very few and sometimes when it’s a great performer. That’s the biggest problem with being into knives for the 30+ years and even worse a knife reviewer for the last 7 years. I like innovation and performance
