I can attest to the reliability and durability of the specific model he is reviewing. I have an 07 g35S with the 5 speed auto. Bought it at 93k miles, hit 185k today and i have driven that car tamely and spiritedly since I've owned it, nothing major has happened. Just brakes/rotor, oil and filter changes every 5k miles and some hoses in the engine bay(heater core hoses). Highly recommend for fun and durability.
This one hell of a car even today. In 07 my friend had non sport g35 sedan and it would give my friends 07 Benz e350 sport the business. I had an 07 e60 550i sport and he would hang around pretty well with my car that cost over double msrp. I loved that car so much that I got a new Q50S as my daily when it came out in 2014. I had a friend with an 05 M45 that I absolutely loved… I shopped for the M56 before getting another e60 550i lci… I was to much of a BMW fanboy at that time.
Dope review! 🔥 Just sold my ‘07 Lakeshore Blue G35S a few months ago - probably the best car I’ve owned so far having topped 157 and driving it *hard* from 30k to 208k on the dash without any major issues. Infiniti really had an incredible model lineup in that era; hopefully they’ll make some type of comeback, because the current lineup seems sadly dated and monotonous - I actually left their brand and now lease a ‘23 Sonata N-Line due to their lack of options for me. Great review though!

Great review and test drive! I have an 09 G37S with 6 speed manual and it's the perfect balance of cheap, fun, reliable, and practical. I got it for just over $10k last year, it has quick acceleration, handles like a sports car, is reliable, and practical (I have a family). Most importantly, it has a manual! I came from an 08 Lexus IS350 so I traded a little reliability for more fun 😂

I drive a 2008 Infiniti G35 with 130K km on it. I bought it used. The previous owner drove it rough. Still, after 16 years of constant driving, it’s still operating very well with no problems since. The only thing that ever happens is that the air pressure light comes on when the outside temperature changes drastically. Also, the driver seatbelt strap is always loose until I fasten it.
I noticed you forgot to mention the G37 convertible (2009-15). A lot of people forget about it, but it had a hardtop and manual option. My friends dad had a 2012 G37S Convertible with the 6 speed manual and factory sport exhaust. It was a ton of fun with the top down!
Recently bought a G35XS. Ive wanted a G os 350 since I was a freshman in HS. I was able to snag one with 67k original miles. It does have a minir accident history- but i gotta say i LOVE the car. It definitely does get a bad rep for takeovers, but the car is genuinely fun to drive, surprisingly quick and very reliable. I would say the only downside is fuel economy. But, it also depends in how hard you drive it. Expect anywhere from 13 to 18 in city. A bit higher on highway for sure.
Agreed, I own an older G37x Sedan and its really nice. Low miles, clean body, paint chips around it, some pretty bad, but it's awesome to own. I plan to hold onto for awhile, only got 105,000 miles, bought it at 92,000. I wanted a car with a strong motor that would last awhile and still be fun to drive when I wanted. Its not a sport package, but I have modified it, normally these put out 330 hp or so, mine is closer to 365 hp if I had to guess and it definitely is faster than a normal one. Really I just wanted a fun, sporty, practical sedan. It looks pretty sick and I like it alot. There are a lot of small little issues with how it's built, that if unaddressed, can cause serious issues later. Those are things I don't like. Like Gallery Gasket Oil Leak, Sunroof leaking into electronics, subframe rusting out. But other than that, it is very solid. And yeah, they are very quick, quicker than people think. With my mods, I've been much closer to a 392 or 5.0 than I ever thought it would run though they are faster cars, make no mistake.
My uncle has a 2005 g35S sedan he says it’s *stock plus* just meaning he modified the headlights, changed it to the black interior other than the seats still being tan (he couldn’t find the black seats he wanted) and window tint. it is automatic but it’s still an amazing car, I hope one day he sells it to me all it does is collects dust in his garage (he still cleans it every week since he details cars for a living and hates when his cars don’t meet his standards of clean) he purchased a g37S sedan and daily’s that he is thinking of getting a q50s sedan with the 3.7 all his cars have to be rear wheel drive as well but still one day I’ll get my hands on that g35 hopefully.
