I just got back on 6m after 28 years !! what a hoot. Yes, FT8 for now... but I have put out a couple of CQ's on the CW portion and need a gain antenna. I am looking at either a Moxon or Hexbeam, gotta figure out what I want. Thanks for the video, 73, KB2QQM
Link in Description Below!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - I am really starting to like your channel sir. I came from the link on Kevin's "Old tech Guy" Channel. Was happy to see it was your channel it lead to.
@@wild-radio7373 , thank you I really like this little antenna I can break it down to make it smaller or I have hung it on the wall of my box trailer and it works really good . NP on not making the live stream your always there and It's nice to have a comment afterwards, see ya on the next livestream! 73
Thank you for making the video about the 6 meter hex beam I really enjoy watching it. And I plan on making me one of them. 73 AE4OY William Peacock EM-81UF (OldYella)😁
William I wish more Hams would get on 6m , it seems they only want to get on when the band opens. 6m could be a great band for short distance especially if your area is flat, I think 6m is on the edge of line of site. Thanks for the comment and good luck on your build. If you have any problems email me. 73
Wonder if it will tune to 433MHz also. (I have a 2m dipole with aluminium tubing which tunes on 433, 145 & 50MHz) Considering building a 10m & 6m hexbeam to use at home in the Summer here on South Coast UK. Cheers de G6ASJ.
Hi, nice video. I'd like to know if have some interaction to use aluminum spreader to fix the elements. I intend to build one for 5 bands and here in Brazil doesn't have fiberglass spreaders. Thanks best 73 from PR7TU.
UA-cam has this weird phenomenon where people add a T to the word across. I've lived in opposite sides of some of those States from California all the way to Pennsylvania And I've never heard someone in person say "accrost" But I hear it on UA-cam probably every day. My suspicion is that people are trying to enunciate their words and do it wrong. There are a few more words I hear frequently that a similar thing happens. I'm not criticizing I'm actually trying to find out if you Say it that way in person like some people say worsh instead of wash or if it is a UA-cam thing

Really nice build Chuck.
Thanks for sharing brother! I am wanting to build a hex beam myself

Liberty Cave thanks! Glad you found me, thanks for watching!
Looks amazing! I will try to build one! Thanks Chuck!
You won't be disappointed it's a great little antenna!
I need this
Jason it's a pretty easy build.
@@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures Saw the link, it didn't show a parts list. I'll look over the website a bit more.

That's a cool antenna!
Hope to hear you around the band, 6m is quiet out here in the central valley!

I'm thinking about going hill topping on winter field day and run 6m SSB along with 2m FM and SSB

Team replay for the win.
Sweet as! 6m my favorite band, I gotta get one of those.
Thanks NCT , this is one of my favorite portable antennas
Applause for trying! Is there any ham whose antenna experiment was troublesome? Doubt it! I am going to try something like this for field day 2022!

Wow, this must have been the first Chuck video I watched.
Excellent 👍
I cannot find calculators online anywhere. What resources did you find most helpful for modeling/measuring everything?
Look in the description above, there is a link to the site.
Which is better, the hexbeam or the Moxon? They seem like similar concepts.

Mick next time I have a chance I will try to remember to check it on 433 if I still have the comet analyzer! Thanks for watching and the comment!

Ramiro, yes I think it would interact for sure, try wood dowels or bamboo maybe. Thanks for the comment!
@@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures Yes, bamboo wood we have a lot! I'll try it, tanks, 73!
I need to build one.
