I see you have a 6 Terra Server about 50% full. I agree with your opinion regarding "only buy Blockbuster or Demo worthy movies". I'm curious...how many movies do you have on your server. If I get one, I'd like to hold about 100 4K movies over time...but how many do you have on your server using 3 Terabyts? How many are 4K? I realize movies take up more space than others...Thanks
I think there are like 100 on there now.
Couple more points to add. I agree only buy the blockbusters and enjoy the highest quality. I do the same. Two more points I would add. #1 Purchase movies you liked growing up watching that were blockbusters. These movies have been released on 4K Blu-Ray and then K-Scape gets a copy as well. So instead of purchasing the blu-ray, which I still do, you can also pick it up on the K-Scape, or only pick it up on the K-scape. #2. Movies in theaters that are available early on K-Scape for $39.99 may be worth it, instead of taking the family to the theater and spending $200, buy it for your home theater on the K-Scape. They do however, need to bring the price down for the masses. And most people forget that K-Scape shut down once.

I think I'll invest in an Apple TV, I currently have the Amazon Cube in my theater.

Unless you rip your high bit rate uncompressed physical media Blu-ray Ultra HDs to a server. You can't compare the 4K Atmos movies you buy from iTunes to Kaleidescape or physical media.

Everyone compares it to streaming ( Apple tv etc. ) how would a Kaleidascape compare to a Zappiti or a Zidoo or R_volution when you have Ripped your UHD via Remux ? The answer is Exactly the same i would say, even if its only 85% of the K-Scape, which means you wont know the difference unless its a side by side situation.
Might be true. I don't sell DIY options....because why would I. So I am talking about products that we sell and that are for sale. : )

If you have new OLED especially MLA then scape isn’t for you. This is a service for large scale projector home theaters. For the mass population with high brightness TVs we will want content that has the mapping for high brightness via Dolby Vision and or HDR10+. It’s kind of a shame they don’t have these options as the new micro led 110+ TVs are coming in fast and the GUI is slick. For us HDR needs we REMUX and stick to direct play or stream via Plex Jellyfin etc. obviously this is my opinion. I haven’t used zap but looks interesting but nonetheless REMUX a disc for TV > K Scape until they add better HDR content for the prices they want. 🍻
@@SRMB1 It's fine but not everyone can build media PC's etc in order to Remux their discs etc.

It's cool, but it costs too much money. I would like to see Sony get in the server, streaming realm. They could give Kaleidscape a run for their money.
Could say that about a lot of luxury items people own....Doesn't make it not great. Just for a certain type

One of the most over-priced piece of equipment, even though it does look well executed (GUI and all). But they clearly target people that are not... price-sensitive! As I hate the feeling of getting taken for a ride, I'll say no thanks! Looking forward to seeing some competitors in that space some day, and prices will come down by more than half I'm sure!
could say that about any high end thing in the world... just means it's worth that money to those poeple. This is a luxury item.
Apple TV and 4k DVD is not the same.
Certainly didn't say it was the same...K-scape and BluRay 4K are the same...for the most part.

Why use Apple TV ? Why would one want to have a bunch of devices when you could have one device ?
I mean, I’m not sure what you mean. I only have an Apple TV. That is the only thing I use at home. This product is different and for the very quality discerning and at least mildly wealthy. If you have a six figure theater, you should watch your movies on this piece. That that’s the point, but if you want everything on one source feel free to do so you might never see the full potential of your theater if it’s really expensive.
I mean why have an Apple TV and a Kaleidescape instead of just a Kaleidescape. I would love to Kaleidescape have a Netflix, Disney Plus etc apps for shows that streaming service exclusives that aren’t on Kaleidescape
@@Kev4Kev Right..but KScape doens't do that. It's just for high end movie watching. switching sources on a surround sound receiver really isn't that big of a deal. For those that can afford a Kscape it's worth the extra effort
@@TheaterAdvice_FCAVif it’s just for movie watching why do they have tv shows in the store ? Switching sources can be a pain if you are doing it constantly.
@@Kev4Kev Again if you watched the video...which sadly msot commentors don't I can tell...I would tell you not to buy shows, rom coms etc on this. Its for the blockbusters and badass demos. Again it's for those that also have a Ferrari ..they pay $100K more to look better in the valet. I'd say this doesn't make sense to you....so it's not something you should buy. I always sell the right product for the right room. For those that have a six figure room I'd say it's silly not to watch the best content in there available without putting in discs. Right product for the right room and right client. Just like Cars.
So its just remux movies?
Does a lot more than others ....or poeple wouldn't want it. But I do say it's a super luxury product. Not everyone can or even should buy it.
@@TheaterAdvice_FCAV not really sure what you’re saying. I’m wondering is it better than remux of the disc? Does it have better bit rates than what I can get off UHD disc? Remux is 1:1 digital copy.

Honestly, I’m too busy to look right now, but I can tell you the last time I was on their website. I did see graphs and all of their bit rates versus other technologies, etc.
@@SRMB1 I can tell you that even if it is in the end, the same exact quality of whatever you’re talking about people will pay extra for the user interface and the ability to set up demos through scripts, etc. The same reason people buy a Ferrari over a Porsche 911. people sometimes pay crazy money for little differences. It’s the luxury world. I believe it is the same quality as a Blu-ray disc. I believe on their website there is a graph that shows the audio is higher, but don’t quote me on that. It definitely does things other technologies does not do.
After their last major price increase, I was only able to buy used 😮💨 Most of the movies are 🖕expensive, especially in Canada. Not all movies are on K, disappointing 😒 If you're not watching 4k Atmos probably stick to Apple TV / Disney better of the bunch for streaming. This company only cares about the 1% and not the little guy. The player is not badly priced, but the HD`s are 🖕 out to lunch... If you only have a 4k disk your kind of 🖕 to scan it into your library.

its not worth it , your just getting cheap , near field mixes , not theatrical mixes which is reserved for laserdisc high end for a proper THX sound system cinema , i wouldn't put kaleiderscape into a dog cat charity recuse shelter ( as ex retired protectionist ) i think its worthless piece of rubbish
Well the AV world disagrees…lol. Since it’s in EVERY high end demo at CEDIA every year.
I heard at the last highend show...every demo that used K-Scale had problems and had to be rebooted. Just because it is expensive does not mean it is reliable, nor does it mean it has the best picture quality. It is a expensive toy for the rich or the reviewers who get good deals for doing reviews
@@TheRsxer63 That's because those shows only have wifi repeaters and are HEAVILY overrun with traffic at those shows. Has literally nothing to do with the unit. I've never had to reset mine and I've had it for years. Fake news
@@TheaterAdvice_FCAV Still do not see who they can be better than a disc...strictly better in convenience and possibly interface. I looked into them and I think it is a waste of money, only for the rich and not necessarily a better picture either.

Worth the money to a person on a teachers salary no...not who they are targeting. So I think you're just agreeing with what I said in the video lol
