I love this lens. I bought it in EF mount and used it on my Canon EF and RF cameras and then I switched to Sony and bought the MC-11 Adapter and it works natively on my Sony Camera. I sometimes think of selling it but for what I can get for it these days? Are you nuts! This is an amazing optic.
I got that Sigma 50 mm lens on my Canon R6, and it's so sharp with high contrast even at f1,4. Incredible lens - and I have the lightweight Canon RF 50 mm 1.8 lens for street photos and travel. It is light and also sharp at above f2.8-4.0. At f.1.8 it's fine with a some softness in the corners which I like for artful black and white photos.
@@battlefieldguy5594 No, I don't have any focusing issues with my Sigma 50 mm f1.4 art lens on my mirrorless Canon R6 camera. The nice thing is if you shoot mirrorless, AF calibration is not an issue. I bought it as a brand new lens in December 2022. The picture quality on my Canon R6 is outstanding.
Heads up for Sony shooters, the E-mount version is a whopping 5 inches long. Over an inch longer than the Canon version. Could be a deal breaker for some people. Like myself, who uses the baby A7c ha.

I also bought my 50mm sigma used for 400 euro, in Hamburg. It is indeed sharp although I find myself using the RF85mm 1.2 more for stills
I have canon R5 and Sigma 50mm f1.4 art lens. However was thinking to switch to RF 50mm f1.2 L series lens. How is the Sigma compared to 50mm f1.2 ?
Have not seen a comparison with the RF version but I know the Sigma is plenty sharp. Plus you save a lot of money!
How did you shoot in the water? Do you have a waterproof case or something for your canon R5?
I literally just went out with it. I wasn’t that far from the shore. It got a little wet🙃
Love this review! What canon body did you pair it with?
Thank you! The Canon R5.
Thanks for making this video!!

It really is amazing. Love it on my R6

Considering getting one. I do own the 105mm f1.4 already so don't know what to expect from the 50 😉
It’s amazing!
And did you get one? And which is sharper?
@@Jakutz74 no I ended up with sony zeiss 50mm f1.4 but I don't use it much. After getting tamron 35-150 most of my prime lenses are out of job 😅

If you're looking for this amazing lens, I just got mine at Best Buy on clearance!
50mm f1.8 being not professional was like a shot through the heart
Hahah it can be used in a professional setting!!
If you find this 50mm sharp, i bought the Sigma 40mm F/1.4 Art, it's even sharper than the this Sigma 50mm, for me... 🍻
It's sharp but color, skin tone maybe canon is the best.
Maybe not.
Sigma Art 40mm beats 50mm in every way..tests demolish 35mm & 50mm
Try 40mm 1.4😂
