I like to think that each block (and your cube icon) is 18-20cm in size. There are multiple icons that resemble heads or skulls, which in size are about 17cm in size on average. Not to mention Kirby is canonically 20cm in size, which is also an icon in GD. Probably the most solid size scale I can think of for this game :)
You can go upwards really fast by something i discovered a few weeks ago, if in the editor you place a block and on top of the block place a move trigger, then move the move trigger to the right and set the properties of the trigger to lock onto player x forever and another move trigger above that has a move time 0.50 and a y of 1000 you go extremely fast extremely high, you also can set it higher to see the max on that you clip through the fast block
I found out in the 2.2 gdps you can use the arrow trigger to go sideways in the UFO gamemode and add the black orb to that then you will be fast also it will only work in platformer I'm gonna make a video of the glitch with a 2x time warp trigger
real fact: the end is negative X axis which means that you would need to go backwards to complete the level and going super high with Y axis does not affect X movement at all
There's also a glitch with floating point approximations, and how they are calculated which allows you to increase your speed on the x-axis. Basically in short, the further and longer you go along the x-axis, the more buggier and glitchier the game will become with calculating FPA's, and this effect becomes stronger and occurs quicker when playing on higher refresh rates. There's some interesting videos about it you can explore and examples of it can be seen in long levels like Robtop Travel(for example, it occurs in SiKky's video at the 2:15 amount, his icon moves faster than normal because of the bug, and it makes the level unplayable on 360hz)
Basically, if u made a level long enough and played it on an extremely high refresh rate, you'd notice the effect quickly and it will become stronger as you progress.

You can’t just convert vertical momentum to horizontal momentum in GD. That is, until 2.2 comes out. The Arrow Trigger will be added in 2.2, which can rotate the gravity at which things are affected. Executing these tricks while sideways would give you tons of horizontal speed. I could even provide a setup for the TP + UFO method. Teleport the setup to the highest point, then do what you would normally do, but sideways, an arrow trigger pointed downwards, and the UFO in Free Mode (this will allow the UFO to travel downwards past the barriers that would normally be there). At some point, stop teleporting the icon, which should in theory shoot it to the right at unbridled speed. I’ll have to test this out myself to see if it works, though. Thanks for the idea, I’ll probably post a video testing it out or smth :)

Let's assume that gravity in Geometry Dash is 9.8m/s^2, like on Earth. Cube falls 2.5b (blocks) in 0.25s so it would fall with acceleration 80b/s^2. 9.8m/s^2 == 80b/s^2 => 80b == 980cm => 1 block = 12.25cm. Default horizontal velocity is 10.5b/s, that's approximately 128.6cm/s, not 18m/s (65km/h), so the cube is about 140 times slower than said in this video

When you try to click with with the spider in create then play but not in the real lvl just in test play it doesn’t leave a straight line it leaves a slight slanted line and it doesn’t tp. If it tps then it would leave a straight line and tp might be inf mph but spider which doesn’t tp might be faster than the tp portal (no 1-4 x speed just regular speed with cube)
