It still pisses me off that Allison Janney didn't receive a standing ovation after winning the Oscar, I mean she's one of the greatest of all time right there with Close, Streep and Foster

Mimi Kennedy in general became one of my favorite people. Whenever I feel like kicking myself over something stupid either from my past or my present, I imagine her as Abby (from Dharma and Greg), Greta (House, M.D.), or Marjorie.
Same! She initially seems like old lady AA, but she is SO much more than that. Mimi is a wonderful actress. Besides Christy, Marjorie really healed Bonnie.
I found this more revealing for Marjory. I liked hearing her story. Made sense. “Everyone has went back to school. and I’m a homeless bag lady” I’ve lived a privileged life. But addiction has touched my life with so many people who have died from the drugs. This was a poignant moment of the show and everyone, I think!!
My late friend was an ex-alcoholic and akways watched this show religiously. He passed in March, and I haven't seen or heard anything about "mom" until now when it came up in my recommends. Reminds me of him. Weird feeling.

As a recovering alcoholic and addict, Marjories story is SO TRUE. People really did go back to school or got married or got jobs. Quit drinking and drugging or cut way back and here I was, 26 years old still blacking out, ending up in multiple strangers beds and ending up in detox .
Anyone's story is accurate if it's their story. Addiction is something in the brain that causes the craving after that first use. Great childhood just experimenting, bad childhood looking for an escape, peer pressure, drugs/alcohol eases social anxiety for some to interact with others. Years go by and you can't live with out it. You may be able to function on it for awhile but eventually you won't.
"You gotta be really high to rob banks" I can so relate to that. Not that I robbed a bank or intend to but that fact that one has to feel really high to something..I mean I have anxiety issues and I have to be drunk to meet new people..to get confidence..and that's the tragedy of it all.
This show really helped me stay sober, believe it or not. Even today everytime I feel like "oh I'll just have one drink", I watch this show on here and I am like nah the one drink ain't worth it.

I wish the Regina who said she wasn’t an alcoholic could watch this scene again. I hate that Mom ended before it’s time. I think Regina had a storyline to wrap. As well as Bonnie’s brother Ray.
Loved a comment on one of the shows where Bonnie was asked if she would give advice to her younger self, she said it wouldn't do any good, she would just flip her older self off.
Actually, if you know anything about addiction it hurts so many more lives than just the addict!!!! And many times, even with recovery, there is not a happy ending. ALL THAT'S REALITY!!! AND NOT A SITCOM. HMMMMM?
