    I was just studying your group training video on attack position last night. Im making it my goal for next year to get this right. Very good stuff. Thank you so much for putting this online. It would be great if we could see how this attack position looks in detail. Where are the boots on the pegs? How much is the toe in vs the heal out? How do you transition to shifting and braking while on the balls of the feet? How does sitting vs attack position effect the weight balance of the bike?

    The reason your lessons are so good is because you explain the why behind each concept. This particular lesson seems to be the pillar foundational element of foot placement. Your illustration showing how jumping and landing on your heels compared to balls really shows by example... I can see all the elements of form that you describe in most of today's top riders. It's very formulaic, and to see it explained in perfect detail is so valuable. Thanks for the amazing tips. Now I'm going to have to shoot video to make sure I've got good form, now that I know what it looks like.

      Yeah mate, night and day difference. I brought a drz and am taking it on enduro single track events and I am quicker than lots of guys on their brand new Huskies and ktms. All thanks to the amazing info on how to ride. The springs are 15 kg too light for me and the sag is completely all out too haha. I'm bottoming out on everything so I'm going to upgrade to a road legal 2 stroke like a exc300

    I'm 47 and have just started riding again after 10 years off the seat. I wanted to get back to basics so I started watching your videos, and I realized that I have been riding bikes incorrect since I was 12 years old!🤦.
    I focused today on riding on balls of my feet, gripping with my knees, feet on pegs and proper attack position. I didn't try to go fast or jump far, I just cruised in 2nd gear and focused on my position and throttle control. And I tell you.....what a huge difference it made!! I felt in control, I didn't get as tired and it was SO much smoother. By the end, I was actually cornering faster and jumping further with what seemed to be less effort.
    Thank you AJ. Your videos are fantastic!!. It made today fun instead of a struggle!.

    I have been riding tracks for 5 years now and this was very helpful. Im 47 so every advantage helps. In the whoops this made it so much easier. Hold Position and let the bike do its thing under you and dont look down at the front fender. Look ahead. On the sand track this helped a ton in the turns/ruts. On the rest of the track this position I couldn’t get. Felt all over the place. Fast and jerky just couldnt get it. I guess i will keep practicing. Can you suggest some gym exercises to train for this position. Its a whole new set of muscles. Thanks again for these videos!

    First time I ever rode a track I remember falling over and over in one particular corner. A guy walked up to me and kindly said "Hey if you stop coasting thru that corner you'll stop falling. Brake hard BEFORE it, and then get hot on the gas going THRU it. ON or OFF and NEVER OFF in a corner. Imagine you only have a throttle button. ON or OFF." That one piece of advice changed everything instantly. I never fell there again. A good instructor can change your riding dramatically.

  • @gduck24

    I would love to see a lesson on coming into corners. When to brake, when to get in gas. Tips for getting on gas sooner and committing to lean. I'm picking up bus and pieces from the videos you have done but a specific lesson would be awesome. Love how you break things down and get a little more scientific with it.

    My shift foot I ride on the arch bad, my RH foot position is better but not perfect. Downshifting seems pretty straight forward riding on the balls of the feet by just reaching up and tapping the shifter down. Upshifting seems more difficult for me?? What would be your suggestion on the shift lever position? Is higher or lower better or is that just personal preference? Thanks for these videos!!

    • @MrXiztence
      @MrXiztence 4 роки тому

      IT depends on your boot how large the toe is on it. I run my shifter one click above the footpeg so like barely above it. but it depends on your boot and your own preference. To high up and you'll be accidentally downshifting at times. To low and you have a hard time getting the toe underneeath to shift up (especially when standing) Hope this helps you some.

    • @AjCatanzaro
      @AjCatanzaro  4 роки тому +3

      I agree with having your shift lever one notch above level. So just barely a bit higher than foot peg. Up shifting while standing is definitely tricky and takes practice. I typically get my upshifts while in the air over jumps or while still sitting down exiting turns
