Sl*t because that was the perception of her at the time, serial dater, girl who is with men just to write a braek up song about them. This specifically because this song is probably about Harry Styles (the most showing line here is probably "evebody wants him, that was my crime"), 1 Direction fans were really hateful towards Taylor, they didn't support their relationship, they were calling her sl*t and especially young gilrs had this "Harry is mine, she cannot date him, she dates him just because she wants to write a song about him" approach.
Even though harry dated half of Victoria secret models, but she's being called a slut

Just fyi: if you see “(from the vault)” it means it has no previous or past version, it’s a song that most likely was left on the cutting board while Taylor was making the original tracklist of the album

Its the same reason she wrote Blank Space, the media was portraying her as a serial dater who goes thru guy after guy aka (slut). Instead of making a parody of herself, like in Blank Space, this song just leans in to her taking the insults casually because shes in love

They would call her that word because she was painted in the media at that time as beint a serial dater, and she was constantly sl*t-shamed any time she would even so much as be seen with a dude. In an interview she played light of it, saying she could pick up any magazine and it would have her like just standing at a crosswalk with some random guy waiting near her with the text "Watch out, guy! Taylor Swift is gonna write a song about you!"
Discovered you guys recently and enjoying your reactions. Heard somewhere that she titled this "Sl*t!" so when people google "taylor swift sl*t", this song will come up instead of articles about her, which I think is brilliant.
I love that these songs can have a new meaning for Taylor right now! I hope she feels that!
