This is suddenly my favorite aerobatic video ever. There were some interesting unusual camera work, really neat closeup shots, especially the startup sequence, and the music also goes with it well. Nice use of Loreena McKennitt's music and the other fast-paced music, and the parts without music but just the engine noise. It gives it a great pace. You can really see the character of the planes and their pilots in this, I think. Dancing in the sky!
Thank you for informing us the name of this song! A long time I have been reviewing this video in order to hear from someone name this tune very pretty! Again, thank you!
I think you'll find the F15 first flew in 1972. The English Electric Lightning was accelerating vertically (reaching 36,000ft in 3 minutes) and in service in 1959. The sight of a lightning rolling a few hundred yards on full afterburner then climbing straight up from ground level was an incredible experience probably never to be repeated!
/Bowing head in admiration/ These video's hammer the message home again that most of us pilots can fly quite well, but that there is a very small group combining guts with skills taking flying an aircraft to undreamed levels....
Geez....Svetlana is as calm as she could be. 1:40....."ya...i got this....no problem". like shes changin lanes goin down the interstate. love to take a ride with her. :)
well, i dont know the exact data right now, but aerobatic planes are usually light weight, and have quite powerful engines. they also have symetric shaped wings, so they create no lift by themselves and you have to keep em in the air simply by trim.

This is from wikipedia: "The Lightning possessed a remarkable climb rate. It was famous for its ability...to climb almost vertically away from the runway, though this did not yield the best time to altitude. The Lightning's trademark tail-stand manoeuvre was a trade of airspeed for altitude; the aircraft would often slow to near-stall speeds..." That is not *vertical acceleration*, which the F-15 is capable of, having a total of 50,000lbs of thust, an empty weight of 28,000lbs, 45,000lbs loaded.
Yes, i was able to accelerate while climbing. Acceleration is a vector. With the change in pitch, i am changing the aircraft vector. Therefore, the airplane sees an acceleration toward a higher altitude.
Sometimes in this video, it looks like IMS, lol. And to think they don't lose control of their planes, even for a fraction of a second....they sure made it look otherwise. Fantastic!
The propeller provides enough air for the flight controls behind it, so you can still have directional control while of cource loosing altitude. Only extreme aerobatic aircrafts can do this ;)
If I would have seen these sport aircraft and pilots perform back in the 1950's when I was contemplating learning to fly....I'd of taken up golf instead. They ain't human.
I never get tired of watching Haute Voltige. Magical.

Eine fantastische Flugschau , eine großartige Leistung.
Unbelievable skills!
I don't know what was cooler, the 3d flight, or the blue angels moment towards the end.
What a sphincter test!
The double loop with the one inside the other was impressive.
How many male viewers now want to marry Svetlana Kapanina?
Impresionantes acrobacias. Grandes acrobatas son estos dos pilotos. Se puede ver en sus caras el efecto que produce la fuerza G.
Спасибо очень красиво

What was the music played from 4:36 to 5:50 ?
Beautiful flying and music. May I ask the Artist of the music track?

@jamba470 Who is the artist playing the pan flute with the real jazzy base accompiment ?
Damn great! At first look it seems as if those planes are so light they will never catch any stall or flatspin :D
I think we see a smile at 3:58

If you didn't laugh, it just means you appreciate the level of concentration it takes to fly like they do.
