I would throw in some EasySeal or Leak Saver and charge it back up with 438A, which I know you have on your van. Let her eat and maybe you will get the change-out too.

Why people don't clean around their ac units.. what a mess.
I dont know why people arent more respectful to people in the service industry. Just clean up the yard, make it look presentable enough so you arent pulling a jungle out of the way.

When they are that old, just not worth changing the coil. If you did and the compressor went out next week, they would label you the bad guy. Good call

I'm thinking that is a 98'. If that were an 88' it would have a different furnace section in it. Thankfully Rheem/Ruud has not changed their basic design in a very long time. With the exception of micro channel coils for the ac system

it was Painful !!!

How about putting the cost of repairs after each estimate or repair so I can see how much pain everyone else experiences when they see the bill. 😏 My last bill could have bought me a brand new condenser to replace a $35 part. 😭

Is there a particular reason why instead of disconnecting from the disconnect you pull the wire off the contactor instead? Is it so doesn’t have to go through the reset process or what’s your reasoning behind it

I have a warranty question. 5 years ago, I had a new Carrier heatpump installed in my mobile home thru an organization in the state of Kansas for low income seniors. Do I have to call the company that installed it for my warranty to cover, what if they're no longer in business. It's all registered and I checked my warranty is for 10 years. Am I able to contact another HVCA company to service my carrier and still have my 10 year warranty honored?
