Friday 13th 😮 you seem to overcome your challenges well. It’s often a case of “stop and think” and there’s always a sensible solution to be had. Thanks for sharing your experiences, it brought back caravanning memories for us 😃👍🏻💙 Trev n Sue
😂 oh we’ve all been there! It’s funny how it doesn’t put us off isn’t it 😂 Wet awnings are a pest indeed! You have some memories that you’ll look back on & laugh about 😂 Thanks for sharing! Em 💜
Good to have a review of your first time experiences. I'm sure those moments will have taught you lots. We had a check list - and his and hers tasks. Wishing you happy camping experiences in 2025. 👍🇳🇱🙋♀🥝
Hi Lang and Sara. Well done with sticking with it. Our first was in the 80s sprite Musketeer. Gas mantels the lot, Motor movers what are they, UA-cam not born yet. 🤔 Don't be embarrassed with your first outing, wish you could have seen us, second thoughts no you would be pensioners like us. Thanks guys. Thumbs up thumped 👍 ....Pete and Su....
@LangSarait has but we have bought a photo album and we start off with a photo of the campsite name followed by a short written memory. So yes, a photo 15 eggs falling out the fridge as we forgot to level it and the usual drink & first camp meal, the time we didn’t hitch up properly and pulled all the tow bar electrics out - it’s all memories that you will soon forget but an old fashioned album to reflect on is always a bonus. Well done to you both for giving it ago ❤
Hello , ooh a wet awning, im always asking Tony when is it going to rain and if rain is on the menu it comes down. We've only ever used our chocs once luckily. We stayed very local on our first trip 5 mins up the road ha ha, great video, Julie and Tony x
You mentioned youtube, you should look for what to take and how to put up an awning there are plenty of videos on line to look at. Hope you learned a lot on your first trip.
Thanks Brian - this was a look back at first trip! Fortunately I have mastered how to put the awning up now, although we often only tend to bother taking the sun canopy with us! Lighter and easier to dry!

We all have to learn and we never stop learning.
Very true! like everything in life!! Thanks for watching
always helps if you have a bucket of 6 at hand to help with the stress, and a bottle of grey goose on stand-by, happy new year both.
Haha, you bet Wayne! Happy New Year to you both too!

That's why we mostly use the sun canopy now (or rain canopy as we call it). lighter and easier to dry! Thanks for watching!

Yes, we have pink and blue jobs too! Thank you, you too!
Thanks for collaborating! Sounds like a trip you'll never forget. It's best to get the newbie mistakes all out of the way on the first trip! 😊
Yep, enjoyed it ever since!!
First time awning use is always a trial. Glad to see you persevered with vanning!
Haha thank you!
Wet awnings are such a joy aren't they 😅
I need to put an awning rail up in the garden and just leave it up until it's dry!!
Happy new year to you both ❤
Happy New Year to you too!
It's amazing how many people 1st trips were crazy (like ours) and yet we all still keep doing it lol!!! It's crazy how cold the vans can get!!
It's what you learn from it though!!

Haha, thanks both! I love looking at all the older caravans on UA-cam, it brings back childhood memories!
Seems that first trips are a problem. Perhaps we should all miss that trip out LOL
Yes it does, but then I suppose you learn a lot from them!!
Missing our Van - first trip out mid march. We call ours the “lifeboat” now …. It’s seen more water 😂
At least you can joke about it! I bet it's been a nightmare!

Thanks for watching guys! I know, I love the space it creates but just not worth getting it wet! x
Give up with awnings, we would put it up . Then use it once in a fortnight.
We only bother if we are staying put for a while. We use the sun canopy quite a bit and that it dead easy!
