I still can't fucking get over this scene even though I watched it a month ago. maybe its just me, but this shit hit the hardest out of the whole show.
Same here, the fact that they didn't talk to each other, not even to be cruel to him. How Araragi thought that if he met Seishirou again, he hoped they could talk too How he overcame 400 years of regeneration and back to ashes, just to see her again, ask for forgiveness, for another chance. Some parts of monogatari really saddens, gets me grey.
@@andrewryan8369 the scene where he does releasing all the anomalies that he absorbed shows perfectly all those years he had passed completely alone, It has a very big impact imo. Do not forget towards the end that araragi felt "defeated" even if he won the duel, but the One Who originally won the Heart of Kiss shot was actually him not araragi, even After the hatred for becoming what he hated the most he still wished to see his master and lover, that's how much he cherished her, without any doubts the peak of tragedy in this show.
I've been rewatching the series with a friend-it's their first time through-and when this started playing during the conversation between Kanbaru and Shinobu, my eyes immediately started tearing up. I didn't even remember the song played there, but when it played all I could think of was the part with Seishiro. I couldn't even read the subtitles so I had to wipe the tears away quickly. I don't know if a song ever so easily effected me like this one does, but the piano version of Hachikuji's theme when she's saying goodbye definitely got me for a while.
You simply can't come to hate Seishiro, no one who has been in love and got rejected can without looking like a total ass, I mean, we all know how it is, the feeling of suffocation and falling, the ring of shadow and de-coloration everything becomes infected with, imagine what is to have been in limbo for half a millennium, attempting over and over again to break away from a prison in the void subjected to the vagaries of merciless universal probability, to at least have an honest "no" for an answer so you could move along. As I have seen neither torture, mutilation or the fate of hell itself can withstand this agony, as Al-Hazred said, pain is stronger than fear, and even after death, pain endures, and perhaps, for this same reason, a broken heart outright defeats every single threat you can throw against a man.
I disagree. Seishiro tried to poison Koyomi with holy water prior to the duel, which makes him a selfish coward in my book. He didn't even stop to think how that would make Shinobu feel. Seishiro also turned against Shinobu when he decided to kill himself, so it's hypocritical of him to come back and demand to be her servant again. Dude deserved to lose.

No, "hitomishiri" means "shy" And that's what araragi says at the end, that shinobu had not been able to met her other servant cause she was "just shy" or was it kanbaru during the temple scene? I don't remember anymore
"Kisss... Shhoo...ttt.. ... .. . . . "
Seishirou t_t
this comment just brought me to tears T-T

Remember how she said back in onimonogatari that she doesn't remember his name
Spaceman68ok she lied because she coudn't take the feeling
But she was the one who called his full name after eating him
This scene moves me to an incredible degree, no matter how many times i rewatch it...
Man Mongotari is such a freakin' masterpiece....

Both the Kanbaru and Seishirou scene are a masterclass of storytelling for me.

I'm glad that I've never fallen in love.

This OST playing with rainy mood... goddamn, this kill you inside ;--;. So sad, and yet so beautifully made soundtrack.
