I'm a big fan of that knife. The N690 steel takes and holds a great edge and isn't hard to wrk with. My #7 isn't as polished as yours is. My spine is nice and sharp. My edge grind was a little uneven but it didn't effect performance. I still need to fix that. Mine has the nylon sheath with the big pocket. It's well made but I need to make something smaller for it. I;m glad to see someone else likes this blade. I think it's a real winner.

If you where it scout it will be left hand draw for you...and as for the cross strap there is a small tab on the middle of the outside left hand side that you can tuck the strap behind keeping it out of the way of being cut when putting away the blade. They provide that nub of leather for that express reason.
