Why was there a data bridge just before the 3 pot pension fund system came out. So now no one can request their amount of pension funds before the time.
@Lee, it’s a great question! The lack of access is unfair because members need access to their statements especially if they want to compare values before and after 2 pot.
Thank you so much you have opened my eyes. What i wasn't understanding also if i decide to resign at age of 55 . My money on vasted pot wont be reliesed to me? Should i die what will happen to my money
As I understand that even if you resign at the age of 40 years the pension fund still keeps a portion of your pension until the age of 55, 60 or 65 . Am I correct or am I missing something.......
I wonder how will we claim with GEPF because currently it takes 7 months for them to payout some benefits. Will we claim at their offices, or they'll make things easier online
If you resign after implementation of the pot system you can transfer the vested pot to a private fund, tax free, and then exercise a choice on gratuity (of up to one third), in which case the Retirement Lump sum tax free benefit of R550k still apply, correct?
@Raphael, the benefits are calculated based on formulas, not market performance. Your value will increase as your salary and years of service increase… unless GEPF changes the formula… again
@Yvonne, in principle the money should be there until you reach retirement age as per GEPF rules. However you will only know for sure once it’s implemented
@Ntungwelihle, you’re right… resignation planning must be done early to get the maximum benefits. You can help empower others by sharing the video link
What happens to that money that is being kept behind by the government pension fund. What is it invested in and what interest rate do you get. Why is the government pension fund keeping some of the pension fund money .....if you resign......untill the age of 55, 60 or 65 years or when you die. Sorry I really don't understand why the soldiers pension fund money must stay in the fund...even when they have resigned. Does the private sector give their employees all their pension fund money back should they resign .......
Mmm i so wish to resign but im at 19 yrs service 😭😭😭
I see a lot of corruption with this corrupt ANC government 😢😢😢😢😢
Please do a new video on this especially when it comes to the vested pot
@unarine, sure. Will do this once it becomes effective and we know exactly how the pension fund is handling it
This just rings so many alarm bells... more corruption...
@Fernanda, watch out for an updated video that brings more hidden info to you surface
Thank you for the informative video. May you please share the link of the document you are using in this video?
@Nkululeko, this can be requested directly from GEPF

@aphiweradebe, the vested pot can become available on resignation. Trustees will decide on the funds upon death
Properly explained 👌🏾👌🏾
Happy this helps give you clarity 👍🏽
Start already looks like what they did with leave resulting in capped leave and we have caveats around that
@Tracey, you’re on track. Keep learning and growing
Thanks I left long ago it seems the government is going to deduct more tax as from this system Laza Lethoko
Great explanation. How does this affect those who want to emmigrate?
@ashlen, I’m sure GEPF will provide full clarity once two pot becomes effective

@Lee, quite right! If you want to resign, you can only invest for income from age 55 onwards
I wonder how will we claim with GEPF because currently it takes 7 months for them to payout some benefits. Will we claim at their offices, or they'll make things easier online
@mthobisi, good question. There should be clearer guidelines after two pot is implemented

@marius, this SHOULD be the case however what if GEPF changes the formula and benefits are reduced?
Please tell me if buying pension back would be a good thing
@Marcel, this can be extremely beneficial. Look at the figures so you are fully aware of the implications upfront before committing
Thank you very much yout video was informative
@Antonette, happy to hear this. Are you planning on leaving before or after the 2 pot system?
How to claim my two pit
@Tressa, you will need to reach out to the fund or your HR

@Raphael, the benefits are calculated based on formulas, not market performance.

@Yvonne, in principle the money should be there until you reach retirement age as per GEPF rules. However you will only know for sure once it’s implemented

I wish those who want to resign in 2024 can watch this video. It is clear to me that they should have put in their resignation papers by now. 😮
@Ntungwelihle, you’re right… resignation planning must be done early to get the maximum benefits.

I need to resign ASAP
@ZM, email retirewell@retiresa.co.za for details on how to book a consult.
Did you resign? My understanding is that you can still withdraw your vested pot even if you resign after September
@tarquinmckay5104 you are quite right. as per GEPF’s notifications on the two pot, this should be possible.
