Thank you so much for this! I come from 15 years of videography and video editing, so seeing actual beat tracks laid out was a real mindfuck for me to get over.
you really explained it well mate, i missed a few things on other tutorials but this series got me on track...cheers😋
Agreed… Subbed
This is the first beginner video I’ve seen where the instructor doesn’t nervously flit around with the mouse from place to place so quickly that the eye can hardly follow. You’re a natural teacher . Great work, subscribed .
Really appreciate that. I put a lot of thought into how to explain things because I know how frustrating bad teachers can be
Yes soo true
100% agree! Excellent instruction for an Ableton newbie such as myself. Thanks so much! Subbed.
Me too

FINALLY! Someone who not only knows how to present and pace tutorials but is explaining things in such an easy non-patronising way. Also not prefacing everything with high energy, tiresome waffle...Great stuff.
😂 well said
Should I give homework between lessons??
After watching this video, trying making a 4 part track with bass, melodic, and drum elements in Session View. Tag me on IG / Twitter so I can see your progress!
I think you should!! I will do my homework, thank you
💯
I'll 100% do the homework
Awwww homework 😭... I hate homework.
Wait... I forgot I love making music 🎶 ☺️
And this corse is teaching me a lot. Thank you, sir.
As for the homework, I'd say it's implied.
For my homework, I repeat the lesson several times on my own, then try to learn more piano theory.
I'd say keep doing what you're doing. Teachers like you aren't common on u- tube. Trofey
Hey Taetro. Just so you know, people are still out here massively benefiting from the time you put into providing this resource. I've just made my first beat in Ableton because of your help, and I was smiling ear to ear. Thank you.
I just obtained a mac and ableton after wanting both for years. I can't believe how easy you made everything. It's digestible, easy going, no pressure. You didn't use producer vocabulary, but still got the point across so clear and concise. Thank you for not over-doing it and keeping it all simple. This is literally the blueprint for all beginners everywhere. Building blocks.
The man makes a tutorial and still everything sounds like it could make for a legit beat. The effort you put into your instructional videos is honestly bar-none. Keep up the great work man.
Thank you RYB.
I agree
This video is PURE GOLD. I’ve watched hours of Ableton ‘beginner’ videos where the presenter doesn’t start by TELLing and SHOWing you clearly how to get a sound out of the app. You doing so here in the language of someone watching with no experience already makes this video worth a thousand times more. On top of being a gifted musician, you're a wonderful teacher. Massive thanks. You’ve just gained a subscriber for life.
Can I just say, Thank you!! I suffered through a few ridiculous "tutorials" before finding you. I learned more in 5 mins than I did in 2 days of wasted time! You're a gifted teacher! And that's coming from a teacher. Bless you! 🤗
Dude, I've been following your tutorials to get started on this new hobby. So pumped for this series!
Woooo!!!
Hopefully your music journey, is a fruitful one ☝🏽
Hallelujah Chorus, brother!!! I have found my teacher! You got through the thick bone layer of my skull and actually into the brain! I am good for the thumbs ups and the silly comments. I hope more people find this and create beautiful, soothing music.
One bit of feedback, I lose the mouse and have to rewind and rewatch any time the action is on the bottom of the screen. Totally excellent pace and relevancy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never seen a video teaching ableton this clean and clear. Thank you! You are awesome!
thanks Rox!
i have been using your videos to teach my 7 year old daughter ableton... very concise and thorough.
she likes the way you speak calmly and explain things clearly. There are no ableton tutes for kids so this is excellent, she finds it very easy to listen to you when everyone else uses technical jargon and goes too fast.
I'm Brazilian and recently started to learn about music production. Your didactics and your English are very clear to me. It's very easy to understand everything you explain. I don't even need to turn the captions on! Thank you! Really apreaciate the video.
After looking for 2 days at Ableton tutorials, you managed to explain more in 30 min than others in hours. Absolutly helpful!!!
Dude, I've been looking for an Ableton tutorial for literal beginners who show me how to use the program with everything from within the program just to start getting a grasp of it. You did exactly that & made my life so much easier trying to start my music production journey. You explained everything beautifully and made it super simple to follow along. Plus your voice is so calming and chill which helps a lot! Thank you so much for this & looking forward to watching the rest of your lessons!
It’s so lovely seeing all the beginner comments, glad to see Taetro helping y’all step out that closet. Hobby or profession, juss keep at it.
Always good to come back to basics and rewatch beginner tutorials, i'm glad to see one from you!
I always go back to videos, tips online to refresh my knowledge.
Watched in full and was exactly what I needed. Thank you! On to part 2 tomorrow!
This is amazing. You are a really great instructor. Your pacing, your tone and your overall style makes it really easy to learn from you
Man, your style is so chill but also very clear. Really encourages learning and enjoying the process.
This video is so lite and easy to watch that I can’t even imagine how much work you put there to make it this way. Huge respect!
I tried watching about 10 other tutorials and this is by far the best. Perfect pacing, simple, practical, and easy to understand. I also am very grateful that you made these with people with 0 music theory knowledge in mind. Very grateful.

This series is THE BEST! Learning Ableton & coming from FL, and you have been the best teacher on UA-cam! Can't believe this is free!
you're so good at teaching. everytime i think of a question, you answer it and i don't have to go frantically searching for the answer on google. i feel like this is the only teaching video i've watched where i feel calm and i genuinely understand what's going on. it motivates me to continue learning.
All of the information you gave was so helpful and simply put. Thank you for this video
I love you this was the most straightforward beginner tutorial ive encountered
Dudeeee, you never fail to make the next little step possible.
I came back to Live last night after a long break and felt so frustrated and confused. I gave up, and even this morning when I woke up I thought "ugh, it's too frustrating, I give up."
Tonight I thought "why don't I try watching a beginner tutorial, and just like last winter when I watched your how to make a song video, I made lots of progress!
You make it very digestible by breaking it into small, simple steps. I'm so grateful for you dude, now I'm all psyched again!
Amazing ! I've decided to make the jump into making beats, decided to go with Ableton after spending a week looking at all the DAW's.
Now I have an amazing tutorial series to look forward to. Thanks again .
Great basis, kind of a tutorial I was looking for and couldn't find anywhere for months honestly! Great for beginners, haven't seen a better one, u explain it so easily, so smooth, and practical!!!! Thanks a lot Taetro! I'm a new Sub
I've been using audio only so far but this video is sooo helpful to further explore Ableton, thank you so much!
Thank you so much Taetro, this is exactly what I was looking for
Dude, thank you so much for your videos! I'm just getting into this for the first time starting from ground zero and I'm starting with watching a bunch of your videos. You're a great teacher and your flow and cadence when teaching the material is perfect.. at least for me. Slow enough to make it easy but not boring or tedious.
Thankkk u so helpful! Your voice is also so calming it makes it twice as easier to follow directions
Favorite tutorial I’ve seen on Ableton. Huge lightbulb turned on while watching this. Thanks!
Absolutely phenomenal video man. I just got Ableton and you will be be my home base for learning. Thank you so much man
this is amazingly slowly, calmly and specially well explained, i feel like i actually understand what is going on from the very beggining, not getting overwhelmed. you don't suppose that we know anything and you really explain everything from the very beggining as it should be. its amazing that i got to find your channel, thank you so so so much taetro. you may be the one that gets me into music for once, which is my passion but i never knew where to start.
What a great video, you covered so many essentials and explained them very good. Best tutorial i have seen. Well done!!!
My first day with Ableton and this has been great, thank you.
Thank you Taetro, I've been using Ableton since Live 4 and learned just what I needed to, then I bought a midi keyboard and Launchpad and I realised I have picked up some terrible habits over the years. I'm now in the process of learning the right way, and this series has been a real eye opener for me. (My second time of watching it)
I did catch your live stream once also and really enjoyed it. I will swing by and say hello again when I can.
Wow thanks for this! I recently subscribed to your channel, and I now decided to start making music in Ableton. Definitely will find my time to study and learn from you.
Love your videos. Just made my first beat with loops! Thanks again. 🎉
Just getting back into music after 20 years of not playing and i find your videos SUPER helpful.
Wonderful, thank you. A lovely gentle intro to Ableton 11.
Great work on this beginner's video. I've been fumbling around for days trying to figure out just the basics. Thank you.
You're a great and natural teacher. You don't lost the focus on the learner perspective, on how things may look or feel to him, that's really awesome. Hope that's rewarded somehow to you. Thanks a lot!
Been waiting for ages for something like this! Thanks for sharing :)
This has been a great video tutorial for me as it's my first time using any DAWs. I have just previously used normal synths. This video tutorial will help get me up and running. Music is just my hobby ... and always has. I just LOVE creating my own music. Can't wait to get experiment with this software. Also, just wanted to say - you are an AWSOME teacher ♥
thanks so much just watched first lesson. over the years i always wanted to get into production. but it was all so complicated no matter what program i used. you have giving me confidence to carry on progressing . your a legend mate LOVE ITTTT lets gooooooooo
Thank you so much for your vids. I’m learning a lot and will continue to watch your vids. Cheers!
great tutorial! thank you so much! gonna dive into the 2nd one soon ❤
Oh my goodness I hope you never stop doing these; I just downloaded Ableton and got my MIDI keyboard with the SOLE PURPOSE of just goofing off and having a way to play around in my spare time to relax; you are a life-saver for this. Everyone else either is trying to talk to their audience as if they're trying to sell them something or try to convince me that they have a horse cock, but you just got me in to it cool calm and collected. Thank you man, REALLY looking forward to more videos. Cheers!
This is the best lesson to get someone started in Ableton !!! I have tried for days, following other people's instructions on youtube, but you made it so simple! i got to make a short song in 5 minutes after watching this! Thank You!
