- From The San Jose Rock Bar Jake's band, Red Dragon Cartel playing the Ozzy Osbourne classic: Shot In The Dark. Chas West on vocals, Anthony Esposito on bass, Jonas Fairley on drums, and the amazing Jake E. Lee on guitar of course! Thanks for watching. Please like, subscribe, and share!
Jake E. Lee is one of the absolute BEST metal & hard rock guitarists EVER! His technical ability and emotive playing is world class! Players today should be SCHOOLED by listening to his genius thru the years!
+AudiophileTubes one of the most underrated players, and certainly the most underrated among Ozzys guitar players, Znakky Wylde being the most overrated
ONLY. ..RANDY!
IS OZZYS BEST GUITARIST
EVERYTIME.-Del MUNDO GRITARLO...
WROOOOOONG ZACK KILLS IT
Zakk BLOWS compared to Randy or Jake! He's a 'bar band' metal player for stoned trailer trash kids that never picked up an instrument!
thats about what it sounds like anymore when Jake plays like he's killing something.. maybe killing a cat? all those artificial harmonics takes away from the song, kinda like to much whammy and dive bombing. Zakk has one real 'trick'. he's a one trick pony...
Jake please go on tour again. I'll fly to see you work your magic.
Still my favorite and clearly the most original and arguably the most talented guitarist ever to play with Ozzy. You still got it Jake. Rock on my friend!
Randy?????
sir zakk
+David B Berg can the man have his fucking opinion? and I agree. He too is my favorite.
+David B Berg Not the best, but also amazing

As someone who wasn't a huge Ozzy fan, Lee was always my favorite. Dude is such an incredible guitarist with such a unique style of writing.
It comes from his background in piano and classical music. He went into learning the guitar already understanding chord construction and counterpoint and it shows.
at this time.jake was just getting back into playing again.up until then he said he didn't touch a guitar in two years.i think for someone who hadn't played that long n goes up there n plays like this.is just fuckin awesome.he has his flexibility in his fingers now.god bless Jake E Lee.one of the greatest guitarist ever.
He plays so wonderfully.. Jake you're a badass guitar player!
Masterful W.T.G .MR.J.E.LEE!
Jake doesn’t get the credit he deserves! What an amazing talent! He is top 5 for me! Just has that thing he does that no one else does! True original! Best thing is he doesn’t hide behind a bunch of gain in his tone! When you can play you don’t need all that! Yep I dig him!
My favorite Ozzy song, and Jake still plays it masterfully.
Thank you for taking from his side!!!! That amp is loud!!!!!! 🎸
I always loved Jake's stage presence...So great, Every time he performed he was always smiling and looking at the camera, you could tell he loved SO MUCH playing guitar and performing ! Thank you Jake, I was and still smile whenever I see you play and perform. TYTYTY
+metalblind83 too bad he got ripped off by Ozzy and that bitch...
Andree agreed..Could have made millions! He still did get writing credit for Ultimate Sin, however..but..man what he could have pulled in..He is prob the most screwed over member in Ozzy (besides Randy of course)
the man amazes me because he was up the stage when this wailed into the night in the 80's,his soul automatically hits those chords and notes, instinctively, and he is a genius, listen to all of his offerings then judge, yes amazing
Jake is a legend. End of.
He will go down in history. His playing style is his own. Influenced so many others. Forever one of the best..
Bark and ultimate sin takes me back to high school. Metal ruled and times were so good. Priest is my band but when I first heard Jake there was just something about his playing. He will always be my favorite guitarist.
Finally, we have the "Guitar Hero" style, isolated 6 string track, of this great song!
The best of the 1980,s eras. I love evh and he changed the game and will forever be number one, but Jake is right in the top 5 without a doubt !!
He still is one of the best...!! Those chords and solos....a total original....Love hearing him play...!
Jake E. Lee, is my hero, he's playing musical notes instead of chords, no disrespect to Zakk because he's a great guitar player and great guy but Jake is the gifted one!,
man behind so many great songs, most best and skilled guitar player !
This is Jake E. Lee's song. Only he knows how to do it right!
This song was written by Phil Soussan. Chords, too. I do like Jack E Lee, though. The second RDC album is really, really good.
@@wereleeroads9311 If you listen to the original version of Shot in the Dark it sounds nothing like the Ozzy version. And I'm 99,9% sure Phil didn't pick up a guitar and show Jake what to play.
@@ronniestoneguitar Phil wrote the original song, including the chords… however when they changed the key to accommodate Ozzy’s voice Jake decided to retune his guitar to better fit the new key and it opened up the chord inversions you now here that make the song more unique. similar to how Andy Summer’s from the Police contributed his own voicings to stings songs.
Big thanks to the one who recorded this awesome up close video of the great Jake Lee.
The best axe-man Ozzy never had.
Nope. Randy was better.
Jake had impossible boots to fill.. yet somehow he did it. Love both Randy & Jake!
Randy & Jake are & have always been my favorites, the rest are "good @ what they do"! BTW, I have not bought an Ozzy Osbourne record/cd since the Ultimate Sin and Sharon Osbourne can F#&$ off!
Nope. Never leave out Randy Rhoads and Zakk Wylde - *THOSE GUYS,* are the best ones Ozzy ever had.
Him and RR for sure
UNMATCHED, one of the greatest metal songs of all time. His signature sound wow
One of the most amazing guitar players of the Hard Rock Era .
Jake, you still rock, been a fan since you started with Ozzy, Bark At The Moon, Ultimate Sin! You were definitely, Ozzys Best!! Great to see you rocking again!
I could never tell if he was fast picking that last section of the solo or tapping....now I know its damn near both! What a master of his craft.
Jake E lee,...still Amazing, to the world
.
Jake rocks! I love that this was recorded from the right side of the stage, so I can clearly hear the guiitar.
the man is epic. i hope i can at least meet him some day
Wow! Such superb musicianship. God Bless You, Jake!!! Keep on Rockin.
nailed it 30 years later.........
Great vid. I like that all about Jake and his guitar. I know the lyrics and how the vocals sound, I just like to hear him play.
+buzzcrushtrendkill Thanks for the compliment! Glad you enjoyed it! I was extremely happy to meet Jake that day too!
thepatester Hope I get to meet jake someday! He always seems down to earth in interviews
buzzcrushtrendkill Your right, we've heard the song so many times. It's nice to hear just the guitar, and Master Lee.
Love that Jake has returned.
i've followed Jake for 30 years, his sound is not what it use to be. Still love the guy and always in awe of his playing.
1 of my favorite guitarists ever. By far the best ozzy had. He might not hit every note perfectly and might not be the most technically proficient, but he played with more heart and creativity than all the rest combined.
Love Jake's vibrato and sense of melody.
Best ozzy guitarist hands down. Love jake and he still is the man brother 💪
WOW!! thats about as clear of a camera view you can get. Looks like im in the front row.
+Neil Tipton Thanks for the nice comment! Glad you liked it!
+Craig Willis Just my iphone
fantastic vid.. don't care bout the lyrics... thx brother
Jake, with your precision and full concentration to do it right, your Rock style is one of the best, and you still got it going. Awesome!!!
Thanks so much Jake, you fukin still Rock bro!!!!!!!!!
I’ve seen all the UA-cam nubs trying to play like him and this solo. And nothing comes close. Mastery is truly beautifully to be distinct that the basis of any human mind can tell the difference.
Really HEADBANGER, XXX HEADBANGER,Heavy metal Rock&R♡||!☆just, must say that" I LOVE it!"
Best vibrato in the biz! No whammy bar required either!
Mr. Lowery although I love Jake E Lee... I have to give Yngwie best vibrato... but, just my opinion
Not forgetting George Lynch too😉
I attended this gig. Jake was smooth as a Safeway Chicken,.. Very Laid back Rocker, who you will never hear complain about much.He is in my minds eye the greatest to have his hair yanked out by the Oz Man.. I was able to scootch into say hello, and Rock the fuck out to The charismatic Concoction of Chords,,... Had a blast. can't wait for his return to San Jose California Thank's Jake E.
Still playing really well. Jake said he wasn't going to play this song anymore, but I guess he changed his mind. Not sure about the intonation comments. This song has a unique tuning. High E and three strings up are tuned to E flat and the two low strings are up tuned a full step. I didn't like the flanger effect he used on this and he didn't get the opening harmonic right on the neck, but otherwise solid. We need to remember he has not played regularly for like 15 years. It will take some time. Still one of my top three all-time favourite players. Thanks for returning Jake! Love this song, btw.
If you look closely you can see he actually isn't playing it the way he recorded it. It looks like he's playing it in standard here (which is a monumental PAIN in the ass)
saw jake e. lee @ "characters" (a club then back in th' early 90s) with badlands & got 2 meet him in th' restuarant before they performed & got 2 tell him personally that he was th' best guitarist mr osbourne EVER had................PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!.....JAKE E. LEE.....JAKE E. LEE......!!!!!!!!
Such a kick-ass guitar player Jake
This is awesome. I appreciate the one on one tutorial. Jake has a huge guitar tone. Nicely filmed!
The most underated ozzy´s guitarrists of all time. Jake Lee RULES
His riffs are wickedly complex.....all the little inflections and chording. My favourite guitarist who toured with ozzy.
Jake E Lee for Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame!!!
Another underrated guitarist.
Always great to see Jake doing his thing , been a fan since the early 80's
Jake has an interesting choice of chords ..very non linear
+hawkwind yes, very innovate and unique...
I always loved his musical style
Jakey loving the flanger :P
This is a great video if you're a fan of Mr. Lee. Nice to just hear him!! Love the tone....Thanks for sharing this! Wish I would've seen the band on their last tour.
Jake. Unreal playing right there. Guitar playing is tight and off the hook at the same time. @bark at the moon @best riff of all time
もう一度花を咲かさせてください❤Jake最高❤😊4弦下のパワーコードを学んだのは彼です❤😊
Amazing!! Thanks for posting!!!
Love this. Thank you everyone.
Jakes a samurai 💪🏻
Jake still has the magic and talent that makes him such a fantastic guitar player, Stilland always A Legend
Thank you for posting this. Really glad to see Jake back playing these past couple of years.
Nobody plays Jake. E. Lee songs better than Jake E. Lee. But he can play there songs better than they can live.
love this dude.....my favorite Riff period.
god i love Jake e Lee such a lovely guy too...
I wanna hear Jake play "Whiskey Dust" soooooooo baaaaaaad !!!!
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE WAY HE ENDS THIS SONG,LONG LIVE JAKE
Jakes guitar tunning is unique. Great fan of jake e lee. Love him like hell.
Great player. Not a fan of his down tune but nonetheless it works
@@zzzzzzzz8498 but he does something uncommon that we can't think
@@rons-topic1067 I guess...
A legend.....and one of the few that is humble.
i love Jake.... i will follow you forever. PLEASE GIG IN JAPAN ....i will you until the end
GO JAKE E LEE GO YOU RED DRAGON CARTEL ROCKER YOU!!!!!!!
Amazing stuff. Jake is my top 5 guitarist ever!
Espero que el paso de los años nos dé tanta energía como a Jack E. Lee, incríble.
永遠のギターヒーロー
Great to see Jake back and playing again but lets be honest he is not as fiery and precise as he used to be, I think even Jake himself would agree he is not the caliber he was in Ozzy.
And before you go getting all hate filled at my reply let it be known jake is one of my main influences on guitar!
Love Jake e Lee
Love,
The River
I remember seeing Jake when he was in Wicked Alliance early 90s after the Super Bowl at this little nightclub in Concord CA!
Lol I saw him with that same band in the Bay Area as well at a little well known rock joint in San Jose called the Cactus Club ( gone now) and stood upfront on Jake's side of the stage and after the show I saw Jake still onstage signing autographs and so I pulled out my Badlands CD cover for him to sign for me and he looked at the CD album back photos displaying the band members and pointed at the singer from Badlands and said to me " I cant believe he's dead, tragic that happened to him" and I didnt know he died and said "Wow , really?" Then he signed his autograph next to his picture and I said thanks man. True human being and phenomenal guitarist.
Jakey! Awesome. Love it.
You have to give Ozzy credit he had the best at who ever was playing the lead but I have to say Jake e Lee has the name for a guitar player
I first saw Jake play with Ozzy at the 1983 US festival. The entire crowd of 300,000 was watching him , not Ozzy.
reelman4299 well ozzy had to do this thing called singing, every singer does their own thing
I pull up videos once in awhile of Ozzy with Jake, but really I'm only there to see Jake. Couldn't care less about Ozzy.
F*cking legend.
Nice, looks like Jake gettin his chops back!
Always thought he's the best guitar player ever by far
You can tell he wrote this song from the way he plays it.
Jake is rock'n that damn Charvel baby !! A true living Legend !!
Jake is so badass-one if the best ever.
Personalmente, para mí ha sido el mejor guitarrista de Ozzy,...por la atmósfera que le da a las canciones,....no esque sea mejor respecto a virtuosismo,si no mejor en crear cierta atmosfera en sus canciones.
What an inspiration!
I've always loved Jake's tone.
Thanks upload.I I agree fans comment, BUT Jake is "BEST".
feel he deserves more
Love hanging stage left at the Rockbar... Especially if you like guitar.
Jesus ..Jake, .....cut off the damn flanger !!!!! lol..
Good to see him around and playin..i always liked shot in the dark...tnks for upload.
Jake E. Lee is the Mac-Daddy of guitar !!
Not sad the vocals are buried in the mix....Jakes guitar sound is bang on what i craved
Jake E Lee is still the guitar Ninja!!
I would put Jake up against any guitarist Ozzy had. Not only is he a monster of guitar but a great dude with zero ego.
incroyable guitariste.
