I want to spot a PS1 and two for 10 bucks and when I got it there was a live cockroach in the PS2 and I just threw it away just threw the whole thing away PS1 didn't have any problems though Edit Saw your post on Reddit
As much as I love restoring old consoles, this is one of the rare cases where I'd chuck the thing right into the bin and set it on fire for good measure. A clean, fully functional PS2 Slim costs like 30 bucks and can be found everywhere, restoring a mess like this simply isn't worth the time and effort imo. Where did you even find this thing?
This is my brother in law’s. He probably kept this thing in the garage for many years 😬. I also agree with you there. If you can find a cheap replacement, I would just replace something this dirty. It was smelly, messy, probably toxic. That being said, it was satisfying to see the board after cleaning it.
Fair enough. I'm curious if you can get this thing to work again, though. I can only imagine what damage these little bastards have done to the traces, chip legs and solder joints. Be glad the slim model got an external power supply...
Lol, here because I bought a fat ps2 at a local game store today and it all works but right when I got it out of the package I shook it and about a dozen dead roaches came out. The inside of it probably looks like this and they won’t even refund me 🥲😂 looks like my only option is cleaning it myself.
This shield after sanding must be paint. The rust will come very fast.
I can smell this video
👃 it didn’t smell to good 👃
Bet that thing had overheating issues since the fan was dirty.

If you're going to edit your videos you should instead of showing the cleaning process you should just show the before and after of it
