I worked on this video on and off for 3 months. Not everybody's in this video(Kenzo Suzuki) but I thought I include most of the talent from this era. Who was your favorite from this era?
Jindrak
Muhammad Hassan
Muhamad Hassan and Mr Kennedy for sure
I met snitsky , and the foot fetish wasn't the writers idea , it was a shoot because he was checking out my friend's mom's toes !
Wouldn't Ziegler be part of the lost generation since he debuted with the spirit squad ?
Morrison was hands down the most fun wrestler to watch. Dude made anyone who beat him look cool
thw morrison-punk matches where the shit back then
Morrison was always a dude that looked like a million bucks
@@hippobruh1543 yeah your right but he's not a guy you'll put in the main event scene he's not on that level
@@nadirsanchez1675 he has the look of the guy who you beat before heading to your final boss
@@tonnycruz3994 a midcarder nothing more and nothing less john Morrison is just not world title material he was a terrible ecw champion you think he can be a great wwe or world heavyweight champion
Guys like Mr. Kennedy, Shelton Benjamin, Carlito, MVP, John Morrison, and more had it but they got lost in the shuffle or they just didn't get the push or chances they deserved
Gm mode my wrestlemania main event was JBL vs Shelton Benjamin
Kennedy didn’t get the push or chances he deserved, shelton got lost in the shuffle, john morrison same as kennedy, carlito got lost in the shuffle, and lastly MVP same as morrison and kennedy.
Yea.....Triple H, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Edge were too over to move aside for these guys.
@@cliffordjackson3 Kennedy did get a chance. He Legit won mitb but I believe suffered an injury and he couldn't go forward
@@andrewsmith1374 yeah cus guy's like Carlito and Morrison and Kennedy and Shelton Benjamin are just mid carders for life there not guy's you'll make your world champions
It’s so funny how Lashley was the 1st to break the Master Lock, and literally uses the same move as the Hurt Lock 🔒
It is a nice callback homage to his feud with Masters. I do miss Bobby's Dominator finisher though - that was a sick move. Shame that Masters got released again in 2011 - I was liking his return.
Ok
Thank you!!!! Lots of people don’t see the symbolism of that. Like when he returned I laughed like “omg now he has the master lock” lol
I do like most of them, usually considered morrison and bejamin to be stars of their own eras and this video explained it well! Fun fact: miz and morrison are the only tag teams to win the tough enough competition . I just realized that lol
Miz lost though.
Shelton Benjamin had it all in my honest opinion. He could have been World Heavyweight Champion back in the day.
@@roymustang9059 The problem with guys like morrison and specially benjamin is the mic skills and we all know how vince sees that
I loved chris masters's initial run. The master lock was insanely over and made me love the full nelson and I think he became what he needed to be in 2006 now with the nwa. But it's just too late and it's sad.
That first run in 2005 was golden for such a young age for him too.
@@supersaturn956 Him and Carlito were definitely the next stars of the company
Unfortunately, they ruined Masters less than two years after his debut. John Cena broke his Masterlock, but then Masters whined that he "hadn't had it locked in yet." So we all had to shrug that off until Bobby Lashley officially broke the hold a few months later. They went out of their way to make Masters look pathetic. I'm not saying the Masterlock should never have been broken, but I would have done it much differently.
he was so underrated as a babyface
I remember the wrestling fans in the internet kept bashing Chris Masters during his initial run because they say that he was overpushed and lacked talent. But later, he began to improve but the WWE released him.
It's a shame Mr. Kennedy got injured a lot. I'm sure he would have won a world title in the WWE if that didn't happen.
Don’t forgot about randy and cena abusing their backstage power to get kennedy released.
@@cliffordjackson3 Yeah that was pretty messed up.
Kennedy was like Miz before Miz became a huge star, but unlike Miz, Mr. Kennedy had potential to be the face of the company
@@cliffordjackson3 I thought it was just Orton.
Also remember the whole wellness policy violation too, he was gonna win the wwe title following the bastard son angle and also like you said don’t forget if it wasn’t for that injury he was supposed to be cashing in on taker. Then he was called unsafe by Orton and Cena after one bad move and it ruined everything for him he was definitely gonna be a contender in 2010 but that ruined any momentum for him. If only he would’ve gotten the chance
how could WWE never see something in Morrison? He's got the looks, the charisma, tremendous, athletic in ring ability and he also became really good on the mic, he fits their flashy style perfectly. unbelievable
He's just a mid carder nothing more and nothing less man I remember back then in 06 and 07 Morrison promos were so terrible he's just not charismatic and he still terrible at cutting promos even now these miz and Morrison segments in 2020 and 2021 was the worst stuff I have ever seen it's just the most cringe segments you can ever imagine
Morrison is the most handsome WWE wrestler ever. They should have given him a bigger push just based on that fact
They tried with giving him all those matches w/ Jeff Hardy earlier in his career but I guess they felt he wasn't a star.
@@nadirsanchez1675 Let's not pretend that the WWF/WWE has never pushed guys who weren't great talkers. Hell, for most of the 2010s, they didn't trust anybody on the roster outside of John Cena (whose promos were repetitive and boring) to do an unscripted promo. Despite being a C- talker, Morrison had an A+ look and A+ athletic talent. That should have been enough to get a decent push, even if it was for only a few months. They did have two World Championships after all. Plus, a decent manager would have helped.
Just look at the talent that has been pushed since Morrison's initial run. Jack Swagger was champion. Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus both had long underwhelming championship runs. Jinder Mahal was made champion for some reason... Kofi Kingston? (His gimmick was literally an overenthusiastic pancake waiter).
@@stupid0244 jinder Mahal is a good talker and atleast he looks like a wrestler they put the world title on him cus of the India market but am just saying character promo skills and believability that's what matters the most last thing is in ring work
Muhammad Hasaan was suppose to beat Batista for the Big Gold Belt at SummerSlam '05, that man got robbed because of an terrorist angle done at the absolute worst time.
The segment wasn’t even that bad. But it was 100% on wwe because the hassan character was an Arab American who was fed up with being stereotyped so why would wwe make do that stereotypical segment it made no sense.
@@pleaseshutup7053 yeah I agree, it didn't fit his character.
@@chimeratcg07 imagine the heat tho after the segment wwe tells upn no we keeping the character the. He beats the undertaker at America bash and then beat Batista at summerslam. We were robbed of great tv lmao
@@pleaseshutup7053 as soon as that theme song played on the tron, everybody immediately booed, man it was awesome.
@@chimeratcg07 great theme music. Remember the royal rumble when everyone stopped to eliminate him. Man I miss wwe when they were creative.
The way you said "He violated Michael Cole 🥺" I felt that
Who was more violated cole by hiedenriech or sharmell by Kurt angle. You could even throw Jillian hall by the boogey man
@@pleaseshutup7053 Eghhhh, Sharmell's was weird at the time and it is even harder to look back on it now. Implied rape and her screaming when Angle shut the door really does not set too well on a wrestling show. Felt like they did the trio dirty. At least the Kane/Lita angle did not seem to get "that" harsh for what was shown to us - maybe since it was portrayed a bit more goofy so it did not hit as hard.
Some of these people reach their potential but people backstage didn’t think they did
This gives me SVR 2006 vibes when you had mid/low card wrestlers in the game
🎯🎯🎯
Hence to why I recreated almost all of the SvR 2007 characters on WWE 2k19 using the skin textures
Now THIS is my childhood. 💪🏿 so many missed opportunities in the Ruthless Aggression Era.
my childhood was better in the attitude era 🤷
@@Jetup24 want a cookie ?
@@bdo9285 make it Debra's famous cookies. You would understand that if you grew up in attitude era
Wow. It just sucks looking back on this array of talent and knowing that they were creatively misused. A lot of them could have been main eventers IMO.
I completely forgot that Lashley was the one who broke the Master Lock. Interesting how Lashley would then go on to use the Full Nelson as well.
That Mr Kennedy entrance lives rent free in my mind
....KEEENNNNEEEEDDYYYYYY!!!!!!
Morrison was definitely my favourite as a kid
Promo Skill, Character work, and in ring skill are all equally important.
As a kid I loved almost all of them..this video gave me major nostalgia .. Great vid
WWE is kinda going through a “lost generation” right now, with all of the NXT call-ups they ruin by fixing things that aren’t broken.
They are very broken, they are just generic wrestlers who “wrestle”
WWE unfortunately has a big problem with letting truly good talent go to waste. John Morrison is an awesome wrestler that should've been champ. Shelton Benjamin seems like someone who could tag team with anyone.
Mr Kennedy had the most potential in wwe the mic skills decent moveset
Dykstra's push was cut short allegedly because of Cena having an affair with Mickie James from what I remember. That and other backstage heat
Y’know, I never really thought much about the other guys who came up in the early 2000s and I’m glad you made a video about this because there was way more newer stars around this time who didn’t really make the cut. The Lost Generation is the appropriate label.
Mohammad Hassan will always be special to me as a 10 year old black kid I never saw him as a bad guy I saw him as a guy telling the truth and people hated him for it. Still today I crack up when a wrestler talks mess to the crowd I miss real heels.
I think the timing was just wrong for dude
@@DaRealVJ90 right his era was like th 80s or attitude era. Imagine this character right after 9/11
@@DaRealVJ90 na honestly we needed a character like him at the time, but Vince took a good character who could have had a great heel to face story and ruined it by going overly stereotype with him
@@Giantsfanlewis yea he's like an Italian guy they made portray an Arab stereotype. I love Hassan tho that theme always got nuclear heat it was so awesome
The way Muhammad Hassan Dissapear from spotlight forever from always becoming a world champion is crazy
I remember watching the Mordecai promo as a kid and getting all exited that we were going to get a good "good vs evil" promo someday between him and Undertaker. Visually it made sense, Gimmick also made sense....but alas it wasn't meant to be
Bobby Lashley had so much potential back then but i believe facing cena imo killed he's momentum
Chris masters would've been a good mid card or main eventer heel but runied due to striods an the wellness program going around back then😕
Chavo by far the most underrated worker i believe the feud with Rey put him on the map as a good heel on smackdown but idk why he didn't became a main eventer
I honestly like the concept of constantly interchanging characters. Made things really fresh and new.
Nice topic my bro. I always think about the wasted potential from the early to mid 2000s. I was a kid during the Attitude Era when even midcarders were over. These were my pre teen and teen years.
Paul London and Brian Kendrick being mistreated still leaves me bitter and almost emotional (still real to me DAMMIT lol)
Their WWE run seemed almost cursed at some point, both had star written all over them; great entrance, great looks, great in ring skills, charismatic and more than good enough mic skills when actually given promo time.
Even to this day they are still my favorites of all time as they are the main reason I got hooked on WWE watching weekly and pulling for them then later pro wrestling and got interested in learning acrobatics.
John Morrison (great physique unlike what is said in the video) is also an all time favorite of mine, arguably the most creative high flyer of that generation, his WWE run could have been more tho.
Man I wish I could go back in time and talk some sense into 20 something yo London and Kendrick regarding their huge potential.😭
Brian Kendrick kind of f'd up his in ring career, which is unfortunate but he at least seems to be surrounded by love.
Paul London really got done dirty but he seems happy with his life and acting career tho so it's good on him.
Brian Kendrick was such a great heel
I think Morrison should’ve been a major star for years to come, MNM is the most underrated stable of all time to me, Melina is my favorite womens wrestler of all time, Morrison is in my top 10 favorites, Mercury was cool but I always liked Nitro better 100%. Didn’t matter if he was heel or face I was rooting for Nitro the only time I didn’t is if he was against Jeff Hardy because duhh it’s Jeff Fucking Hardy😂
Their ladder match for the ic belt was the first time I saw someone trap his opponent under the ladder. I wanted Nitro to win but was impressed by the finish
I fully remember most of the 2004 era and most of the names was exactly when I started to watch WWE. It's funny because most of them were the same type of physic: big builded guys. Some of them were giving a good creative build (Chris Masters for example) and some other just leftover ideas glued together (Heidenreich), or straight cross a moral line to get a name (Snitsky). Sometimes it was too chessy, but I enjoyed very much that era and all their matches, specially the performance of Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit. Still happy for the guys who found the love of their craft in or outside the wrestling bussiness.
John Morrison…. So talented :(
This 2005-2008 period was awesome for me. It's my most nostalgic, i missed out on the attitude era and this was my nostalgia period.
I love all your smackdown videos, and videos from 2005 to 2010 that's when I watched wwe every week!
Crazy how this is my childhood right here and I’m getting back into wrestling👀 just got WWE 2K22 and it’s so fun haha
Oh shit I never realized Cade died. I knew Murdoch was in the NWA but always wonder what happened to Lance
I just watch this whole video I am bro you have been saying what has been on my mind for years upon years thanks for being the one to spread this message I’m so glad I’m not the only one who thinks this big love to you bro on this channel and everyone in the comments ❤️❤️🙏🙏
Dope video Premier. This and the butterfly effect video that makes me really think "What If?"
Awesome list. I got a few names like jimmy wang yang and kenzo suzuki. Just saw your pinned comment whoops lol. Keep it going man I really enjoy your content
Ruthless Aggression best era ever good songs for wrestlers good songs for ppvs nice stages good feuds fights segments
After this video you really gonna say something stupid like that?the attitude era is so much better than ruthless aggression era and don't get me wrong I actually do like RA era but so many guy's in this era could have been mega stars but only handful of them did it's just simply not as good as attitude era while back then everyone who walked threw that curtain was a star and got huge pops from the crowd
I remember being convinced that Chris Masters and Muhammad Hassan and Mr Kennedy would dominate the late 2000s and 2010s as main eventers .
Wrong Super Cena was active during that time. The right timeline was when Super Cena part time and right before Roman got the super push.
Im sure most of us who remember
It seemed Carlito was punished for being too over out the gate…
He knocked out Cena with his own chain and won US title, while being a heel
Instead of being booed out of the arena
He received a huge pop and cheers
Seemed he was booked to not break thru after that
Dolph Ziggler getting over on his own?Damien Sandow as Miz stunt double anyone?
Rusev Day chants despite him not being on Raw?
I was at work when you dropped this but .......... Finally the goat is back
Love your content, keep up the great work!
Glad you enjoy the content!
Melina was kinda part of Morrison's downfall. He disrespected Trish at Mania because of her and got buried till his eventual release. If he hadn't have done that I think he could've done more.
WWE tends to build the next generation of stars on the 2nd yr of the decade.
1992
2002
2012
2022
So who's gonna break out this year? 👀
Guys like mvp shelton benjamin carlito chirs masters many others never got the pushes they got which kinda sucked
You're right about Nathan Jones. I was so disappointed as he could genuinely rip people's heads off if he wanted to. WWE should have kept him as a bodyguard type until he learned to work properly. The criticisms of his skills could only have expedited his departure when it didn't have to be that way.
His vignettes before he debuted were bad ass. They portrayed him as this Australian ex-con (which he is) who is making his way towards the WWE. But when he finally debuted and heading towards Wrestlemania where he's supposed to be on a tag team with the Undertaker, he was taken off the match and the storyline was, he was beaten backstage before the match and the Undertaker had to have a 2 on 1 match.
London and Kendrick were 🔥
Great video i remember them All
First things first, awesome video. Being born in 96 The Ruthless aggression era is my era and the only era I truly watched growing up.
I remember every single one of these wrestlers. Amazing video. Brought me back. Thank you.
I was To young for Attitude and saw so much absurd stuff I couldn’t do the PG storylines. Ruthless aggression was just so much fucking fun.
Few things in my opinion, Shelton Benjamin was an absolute stud an athletic freak and was so much fun to watch. Truly wish he got his big push. Big fan.
I think the biggest one though and it was close but I’m gonna have to go with MNM Johnny Nitro (Morrison) Joey Mercury and melina tag team. They had it all.
Nitro was a great wrestler and could make anyone look good even himself while losing. You had melina who was a sexy spit fire diva and Mercury who was a great #2 for the Tag team.
There Look was awesome. Considering the early to mid 2000’s was still hugely caught up in Paparazzi and Hollywood celebrity red carpets pre social media before anyone could become famous.
Big outlandish fur coats, Good theme song, Sun glasses Cameras etc. there finishing move (Snapshot) was a great name and an awesome finisher. I thought those guys were great to watch.
Side note: something that would’ve even pushed MNM further. Do you guys remember when WWE for PPV’s used to have live photography taking pictures with huge flashes during big events for WWE magazine?
You’d see Someone get pushed off a ladder through a table and there would be 30 cameras flashing taking pictures ringside while the crowd went wild?
It made the event seem like a sporting event rather than just a performance. Do you get what I mean? It just made it look so much more interesting.
I’m not sure they were still doing that for when MNM was around but considering it was a time that they probably would’ve been it even fits there image more.
Imagine if during SummerSlam or something nitro points at one of the cameras while him and Mercury hit a snapshot on there opponent to win the Tag Team Championships.
Idk man looking back they really had such a great thing going. Those mid 2000’s were tough on the come up because the guys that were on top at the time were either extremely talented or made such a name for themselves they weren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Great video! I subscribed and hit the bell. Love it. Anything ruthless aggression I’m watching and telling my buddies. Keep em coming! I’m new here!
The attitude era is so much better than ruthless aggression era the mid carders back then were over and got huge pops from the crowd everyone who walked threw that curtain was a star and don't get me wrong I do like ruthless aggression era but it's just not as good as attitude era that's just the truth
Haven’t thought about most of these guys since they were on tv in the RA era 😥
Matt Morgan did with the TNA world title in 2012
Heidenreich is only notorious for that weird Michael Cole segment
Why would they air that?
@@wrestlingspremier bcc Vince think it’s funny
love the video good job on it u just gained a new sub
Crazy Kenny was one of my favorite after the Spirit Squad. That flying leg drop was major
tremendous looking move ,he would get amazing height off the top rope!
can’t wait for this banger vid
Sad thing is lack of talent didn’t derail any of these guys, almost all injuries or backstage politics.
I used to think what happened to those big guys
I remember them calling Morrison the next shawn michaels. Just don't know what went wrong
This is really interesting I never thought about this time period and the idea of it having WWE's lost generation. However, it really makes sense why they experienced building more stars when the mainstays started going part time
watching morrison back in 2009-2011 was so fun he was so flamboyant, his selling was so fluid, his skill set was fun, his attire was dope asf he was innovative asf like w the rumble save and elimination chamber jump those parkour training things were so cool
Amazing video can we get a LA Resistance vid or a Kevin Owens videos next
John Morrison Bobby Lashley and a bunch of other guys turned out great while everybody else was failures unfortunately
Im a fan of carlito, mr kenny, johnny nitro. Everyone do the master lock i can relate to that 🤣
I couldn’t get into most of them because back then
Naively i still pined for the rock and stone cold to return to wrestling one day Those 2 where the only reason I watched and nobody ever came close to them so for these guys to come in an try an replace them was an impossible task.
The highlanders, Brian and Paul, chryme Tyme, the crazy locos or whatever the lawn mower Mexican character and the other guy he teamed up with were my favoritesssss when they beat
I think mvp should have deserved it the most. Dude was my favorite wrestler in the first episode of smackdown i ever watched 😂
LOVE THESE VIDEOS
For MVP he supposedly got depushed for being a marijuana smoker like Brian Kendrick in 2009-2010. Reports went around like that about MVP in 2009 or 2010. But that is a rumor if he was smoking around that time or even does right now. And there are times where the guys or girls in wrestling smoked cigarettes, marijuana or that synthetic marijuana that Evan Bourne smoked.
WWE wasted and buried an entire generation of WWE superstars born from 1973 to 1983 or 84 they basically only focused Lesnar,Cena,Orton and Batista and pretty much fed everybody else on the roster to John Cena that self destructive behavior back then still effects WWE to this day think about how hard it is for WWE to create legit superstars with todays generation somewhere along the way WWE's superstar formula got lost personally I think it started when WWE became a public company and it became all about greed over substance
It's not wwe's fault if the wrestlers have personal problems or are injury prone
keep up the vids GOAT 🐐
Thought about this when going on peacock and watching old smackdown and raws of 2001-2007 which was the time I got into WWE. Then I noticed just how many of these guys just never panned out to what they were hyped to be.
Mark jindrak the reflection of perfection lovesd that moniker
Excellent video!!! 👍
Its my generation man from 2003 to 2007 that's my teen wwe years
Video looks promising
My favorite era
I would personally put finlay into this list idk how wwe didn't give him a title he had the experience was somewhat decent on the mic and could carry out a storyline unlike a lot of the people on the list
He did win the us title just for short time in 2006 and yeah I agree he's underrated and I liked him in wcw very good worker
Probably because he was 40 plus back then.
Great video🔥
Well, you can't have everyone be at the top. And either HHH or John Cena was there most of the time here.
WrestlingPuns should be the name of your next channel if you make another. Lol you throw slick lil puns and jokes in everywhere.
Carlito, John Morrison, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, and The Miz are all amazing performers but what holds them back is them being in the WWE when the star power was huge, it is hard to compete when you have Cena, Triple H, HBK, Flair, Batista, Edge, Jeff Hardy, Punk, Mysterio, Orton, Undertaker, Booker T, Kurt Angel, Kane, and Chris Jericho all on the same roster, even with the brand split.
Jon Heidenreich could’ve been the next Brock Lesnar if booked appropriately, best place to book Jon would most likely be on Smackdown where they build him up by having him rack wins up.Jon could be a star on Sunday Night Heat with a complete undefeated streak going into his main roster run with Jon starting to dominant the lower card and mid card of Smackdown.Jon would have an undefeated streak develop which could’ve led to Jon challenging for the WWE Title with Jon eventually facing Brock for the WWE Title which would see Paul turn on The Next Big Thing to go to the real Next Big Thing in professional wrestling.
One of my favorite eras actually since I grew up on it
What about "Chuck Palumbo"? There's a lot of names i really don't know much in general...
So what about him?
chuck palumbo former WCW wrestler turned into a bootleg american badass
It's kind of an interesting case study,on how some what a few percentage of that generation never persisted as high as there was potency for them to trendscend heights.
Chris Masters not becoming a huge star is such a shame.
Loved the video
Just skipped over the entire Cena, Dykstra, Mickie James thing.
Could you do all of DDP wcw heavyweight champion run
Lol poor Mike knox lol he wasn't mentioned
PS2 vibes! this is nostalgic tho i like that

Hey WrestlingsPremier, I have a video idea for you as I just looked it up and no one has done one on it. Ric Flair's 205 day IC title reign?
I worked with Mark (and Johnny Jeter, and a few others) in Louisville before they went to the big show. A great group of guys. Mark was a great friend at the time, i hated watching what happened to him.
How do you mention Grenier and Dupree and not Rob Conway! I loved his “Just Look At Me” theme. Had a great look.
