    These videos are such a blessing.
    And to see people complain about the music in the backround reminds me of people who don't see the sunset, but the specs on the window.

    Rogan, Duncan, bolelli and Joey Diaz saved me from commiting suicide back in 2012 and made me overcome my PTSD to survive being kidnapped, beaten, stripped and being left for dead when I was living in Monterrey, Mexico, the shittiest place on earth.

    i started my life as shit. came out of the womb as a turd. spent my teenage years addicted to drugs and alcohol in and out of lock up. All my relationships were meaningless and i had one foot in the grave. As an adult(18) i caught a few felony cases as i didnt figure i would live long anyway. i was locked up for 2 years got out living at a halfway house and met my future wife at a strip club. I violated my parole and went back for another 1.5 years. WHen i got out I found her and something in me knew she was the one. We had a lot of hard times as i was still hustling and using barley making it. To add to it she had a kid already and life was pretty difficult. At 23 i got a job(still employed here 15 yrs later) and started working through my issues. She has saved my life, literally. Around 28 i stopped drinking and had already quit using and finally started getting my life together. Being a felon makes getting a decent job very difficult but i wont get into that. I started BJJ(now a brown belt :) because a friend introduced me to it. It has helped change me as a person. I think the biggest turning point was once i became consious of what i was doing and the impact my decisions had on everyone. I wouldnt change anything in my past as it has molded me into the man i am today. I am remorseful for what i have done to other people but i can not change that. I am solid, dependable and care about other people. While i am not certain what the future holds i do where i do not want to be as i have been down that road. Life is similar to BJJ, the more you learn the more you realize you dont have a clue. Now at 37 i can finally look at myself in the mirrior and live with myself. I have things i need to work on but i am starting to see what makes me happy, what i want my life to be about. My children (4 sons) and my wife have brought me humlebness,gratitude and the list goes on. I am thankful for all the good friends in my life and i treat them like gold.(i only have4). It is impossible to fix yourself if you dont have the tools.Seek the truth,which may be different for everyone and you live a fruitful life. i now have goals and not just pipe dreams. If a person like myself can turn their life around ANYONE can. I was bottom of the barrel and emotinally bankrupt. There are other people out there with worse problems and they have overcome. Get your shit together or you will be locked up forever or dead. sorry for the long post. JRE get me on your podcast, i have some great stories.Plus i want to submit you :) I am thankful to my employer for giving me a chance to make a living and helping me get on my feet. Thank you to my family for standing by me and to you i owe everyting.

    • @jamikaynelson
      @jamikaynelson 9 років тому +3

      TheBoomshine the best inspiration is living a life of happiness. Its more how you take it and less what you make it. There are just too many variables to control, work towards worthy goals and NEVER forget who you are and lessons you have learned. Honestly i would like to work with troubled youth but the law wont allow that, go figure. Thank you, has been a lot of work and still working on myself. Perfection isnt the goal, self improvment is. We are born into this world and have no idea the reason or ultimate goal. I assume this is because there is no single anwser. i can remeber being a child and one of the first social issues i had. I could be in a large group of kids and seem to fit right in but something inside me told me i was not like the other kids. I dont know if others have these thoughts but i now realize we are not all the same. SOme of us are batshit crazy and that is ok :)

    Been listening to Rogan's voice a couple of months now. I believe there's a reason I had come across his videos, I can listen to it with full understanding. We are hopefully at a break of shifting consciousness as so our souls can tune into a higher frequency of the universe's fibrations in wich we can evolve into the new step of our evolution as what we were ment for! Still listening, still aware!!

    I just don't understand... I set a goal, I think it's what I want, I try to stay positive... and it all crashes down on my head as I realize I have no fucking clue what I want or what I'm capable of. I've tried psychedelics... I've had life shattering realizations.. and here I am two years later stuck in the same depressing rut, in school pursuing what I want to do, trying to convince myself I'm on the right path when I really don't know.

      honestly I found that I needed to sit down and think of what makes me happy, what hobby or task makes you happiest. Not what job would make you happy, but what task or hobby. Do that spend your energy on that. if it makes you happy to do it in spare time, then it would make you happy to do it full time. ignore the money, do what makes you happy and brainstorm vocations or business you can start using that skill. Remember that "the easy road is in a bad part of town"

      Collin Glover Everyone is running in circles thinking they know what they're doing or what's right or wrong, and the truth is 99% of people have no fucking clue what they're doing. You've gotta find yourself and what your place is in the world.. we're all a tiny spec in a temporary existence, better make the most of it.

      Been there, stayed in that rut for a long time too, until I hit rock bottom and decided to pop open Pandora's Box and face all my demons head-on. Do I know the exacts of what I want to do yet? No. But once I was able to break all the BS down and realize I could walk whatever path I wanted to, I've never been happier. Haven't tried psychedelics *yet* but from what I've gathered introspectively it's all about becoming aware that life is just a journey full up ups and downs that should be embraced and used as tools for constant growth...sorry for the rant but that's just my 2 cents. Take an opportunity to check and see the story of your life, you attempts to get up from where you've fallen, take all the courage and all the love you have around you, make a big withdraw, and transform it into energy to make yourself the compromise to you to become the best of you. Ya man its a very beautiful thing, and throughout the whole trip I didn't hear this, through words, but It felt like the earth or some type of energy kept telling me "Even if your in pain or suffering, everything will be okay, even if it isn't right now, everything will be okay." And idk if this happened to you but on my come down I had this "rebirth" type of feeling like a new appreciation for life, an elimination of any social stigmas or anxieties I had developed, It was just amazing.

    You are awesome. I like the way you put these positive messages out there. It's good to see that there is good in life instead of constant negativity that America churns out daily. When you read a news article that has comment sections like youtube all we see is hate and division. Nothing but people putting each other down, hopeless political points of views, meaningless arguments designed to hurt and humiliate one another. Sadly that's the way humanity has chosen to evolve as. Love and peace!!

  • @TheDougass
    @TheDougass 11 років тому +1

    Completely agree man. The first time I took shrooms was incredible, and one of the strangest "consequences" of ingesting magic mushrooms, at least from my perspective, was that words lost all meaning and there was nothing but intent. I could communicate with plants, trees, animals, the environment, and fellow "trippers" just through feeling almost as if you were reading their mind, if that makes sense.

    Sadly life is a constant fight ... and what we think is right today, tomorrow we learn it was not all that right. We struggle to change things when all we really need most of the time is not to change many of things that were right from the beginning. Many people donnot need drugs to see it, nor go to jail for rebeling. It´s about patience and trusting GOD. But most of all It is about learning and accepting we are in a constant growing up process I would never call evolution.

    I've started thinking differently, Why no one wants to tell us a certain things of our lives?

    That's awesome, but take the message and lessons you learn to your friends and people out in the world. Rogan is awesome, and has a great outlook on life. I don't agree with everything that he says, but I am on board for most of his philosophy.

    Man I've fucked up so much in my life. Do I regret some of it? Yes. Would I take it back? Never. Some of the things--maybe everything--that you can learn and take away as life experiences from being in 'darkness' is just as important and profound as the ecstatic moments. In fact, it makes the ecstatic even better; you appreciate those moments even more. Context is everything.
    Just my .02c.
