I use Woodland Scenics' Soft Flake Snow SN140. This is an inactive powder, unlike baking soda that is an active chemical and if it comes in contact with the building, it will eat through the finish of that building, and other elements of the same. If you slide the play-head to23:01 on the above video, you will see the snow containers with the yellow and black label. I used 7 of those containers on this display.

I used acrylic sheets, Styrene strips and "frosted" plastic. I placed a strip of multi-colored LED lights strip inside. In the near future I am planning on uploading a "how-to" of how I made the tower.
