When I need to drag logs, leaves or bodies in a tarp I use 1 to 3 small carabiners to close up a burrito and rope one end for pullin. Slides pretty good.
@ 445, bought it 7 years ago brand new. Put a 20” bar on it. I always run 91 octane with good 2 stroke oil and a dash of sea foam. It never sits long, I use it often and it’s my main saw for cutting firewood. I’ve got a big stihl with a 28” bar for big stuff but whatever I can cut with that husky I do. It’s just always been a great runner, had to replace the drive sprocket once that’s it.
Even my cheap Chinesium rubbish starts on pull 5 or 6, Lol! Coupla presses on the primer bulb, choke out, two pulls (always nearly catches on the second pull), choke in and another 3/4 pulls and she's away......... once warm you only have to look at the pull cord to start her....... she might be cheap, she might be sh1tty, but she's reliably sh1tty.........
I’m from the dustbowl (panhandle of ok) where wood didn’t grow even grow on trees, but I remember moving a load of firewood in the snow on the hood of a car pulled by horse.
It may not matter much but from the bottom of my squishy liquid pusher I want to thank you ! You’ve educated me on several subjects with a plethora of funny sayings to add to my arsenal. I look forward to buying that sexy knife this Christmas! ❤
Was told by a Norski long ago that all you need is one heavy piece of firewood to keep you warm ALL winter long. Merely pick it up, walk upstairs with it, throw it out the window, rinse/repeat until warm. Be a darn shame to burn a good heater like that.
A plastic 55 gallon drum split open makes a cheap sled with a couple of wooden side stiffeners. Get more in each load, and lasts longer, can be strung together in a train too! Stay warm, and may god bless us all!
Nice video I have 3 Stihl chainsaws , a 24" bar , a 20" bar and a 16"bar Also a Husqvarna with a 20" bar that I bought at a auction for $80 All 4 work great , the reason I have the Stihl saws is there was a dealer close Even the Stihl with the 24" bar isn't big enough for some of the White Oak trees But mainly I just cut up what is left over after they cut trees for logs
It is so beautiful there right now! I'm in central Wisconsin, and except for the occasional wisp of snow, all we have is grey skies most times and really cold temps. I've always maintained that if it's going to be Winter, then it better be funkin snowing.
I think you're on to something there. These days far too many people spend all their time peering into the little screen and don't go enjoy a peaceful and quite mountain vista like that.
Long time ago in a place that snowed a lot more then where I am now. When we used to collect firewood, we would use an old metal wheelbarrow tub to pull behind the snowmobile. It also doubled as a ride for the younger kids.
@ave The key to starting the husky without pulling 20 times is to keep the choke engaged until the motor burps. Then, the next pull or two it will start. I regretted buying the husqvarna until I learned how to start it.
I always bring my blue tarp out in the woods. Gotta dump her somewhere when your done and it keeps the birds away, for a while. My personal glowie is going to have a field day seeing this one.
Lived in England for 3 years. I genuinely feel bad for you guys. Never felt as claustrophobic, over regulated, and watched (cameras EVERYWHERE) in my life.
More Good Life! Man, sometimes I really get homesick for Da Nortwoods where I grew up on a dairy farm in northern Wisconsin. Same feels, only with Whitetail instead of Moose.
I was half expecting to find a Slartibarfast reference or a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster or maybe even a a Hoopy Frood reference but maybe I missed them all !
Definitely used a tarpaulin to move furniture across the lawn into the first place I bought in September, here on the island The thing's been a Swiss army knife - everything from ground sheet to shelter to transport of large items to hiding expensive items. Love me a tarp to work with
I have one of those Husky saws and yep, it's as hard to start as yours AvE. It was even that hard to start when it was brand new. Hardest saw to start I've ever had. I miss my old McCullogh 650 ProMac from back in the 80's. That was a great saw and usually started by three or four pulls. Don't make 'em like they used to.
I knew it, you're a closet fin 😁 At finland, we take down over 40 000 of those every year. Still it's the most deadly animal at the finland, causing multiple traffic deaths every year.
Frostbackistan looks a wee bit chilly, think I will pass on that I mean all we have to deal with here in Stralia 🇦🇺 is 🪰 crawling around your coffee cup trying to do the occasional backstroke. But that slushy wet white stuff looks fun enjoy the camp with the squids.
My wife would complain the house was cold and I'd send her out to chop wood. She'd strip down after once inside and sometimes the house would get hotter.
First time I ever saw a moose, it wasn't seeing one cross a road, or walking out of the forest. It was coming out of the ocean with enough seaweed that it looks like a eldrich horror.
lol hell with that, I've seen far too many moose vs vehicle incidents here in Alaska and I can say it never works out well for the vehicle or the moose both are normally totaled. Hell last winter a dude in a new GMC Truck hit a juvenile, killed the juvenile and totaled the truck dude only lived because of his airbag. Point being, the best moose is the one that you are aware of and it is far enough away from you.
Ahh the good old days when the best thing in life was having cookies for breakfast.
I mean, the kid ain't wrong!
"We need sum moar wood. Luckily, in Canadur, that shit grows on trees." 😂 had me laughing out loud
Thought he was referring to the chainsaw growing on trees
The real moose was the fun you had at moose camp.
MUUU! 😉
Moose/deer camp was not about hunting. It was fun times spent with friends and family.
I love the youngins explanation of why hunting camp is the best 🤣 it’s the little things
Howdy AVE. My favorite snow mexican always makes my day 👌
Cheers bud!
Between good ‘ol’ Peg and AVE this statement could not be more true for myself.
Lmfao snow Mexican
I love the Uber disguise!
Imagine getting old uncy bumblefuck as your Uber driver.
It would change your life for ever!
🍻
Genuine tree wood, beats factory wood.
Never as hard as Your Morning Wood eh ?
@@richardlincoln8438 Pure Teak.
Timber
Sometimes you get the moose, sometimes you get the knuckle.
The view at 2 minutes & 15 seconds was cinematography at its finest.
add : to time stamp add two zeroes if u need time stamp under 1 min 00:23 2:15
Wood warms you three times, I like that.
And it grows on trees
It's old foresters' saying. Common all around the world :-)
Wholesome family bonding really warms my bowls.
I like the 45/70 TP holder. 😎
for what they cost they may as well be multi purpose!
I'm surprised he can have them with Turdo in office
When I need to drag logs, leaves or bodies in a tarp I use 1 to 3 small carabiners to close up a burrito and rope one end for pullin. Slides pretty good.
Happy Thanksgiving, brother! Thanks for taking us along!
You're doing it wrong... You were on a stealth expedition to avoid being detected by the moose.
100% success!
My husky starts 4th pull from dead cold every time. 7 years of grueling punishment that saw has put up with me so far and she’s still lovin it.
Which model, and/or what’s your secret? My 50 is “cold blooded”, and takes more pulling than that.
@ 445, bought it 7 years ago brand new. Put a 20” bar on it. I always run 91 octane with good 2 stroke oil and a dash of sea foam. Mine always takes one pull with the choke, then I switch to full throttle choke off and it starts first or second pull after that initial choked pull
@@rbutter9200 must be a Stihl, mine is the same

This may be my favorite episode ever! Wonderful!
The kids at the end warms my heart as much as collecting the wood. Good job.
The Uber for the backroom hunting camp access is the icing on the frozen lake for me.
I wish we got a moose, too, bud.
She got proper peeps raisin her!❤ What happens at moose camp, stays at moose camp! Unless you release it to the tinternets.
Not thrice! Getting, splitting, piling, carrying, burning, ashes out … 😅
And yet some people still wonder why we switched over from carbohydrate foam to dinosaur squeezings what for heating one´s hacienda...
Uber, special request - "I got a Moose to transport and some kids." 😂
that sweet 2 stroke kitten purring is music to my ears
The best thing is no mosquito bites😂
Time camping and hunting with the family is priceless 👍 best memories ever
there sure is enough to go around . the feeling you get in the woods makes everything seem so insignificant.
I most liked when you got philosophical at the end.
"C'est pas ma faute j'ai la gueule de bois" 🤣
It may not matter much but from the bottom of my squishy liquid pusher I want to thank you ! You’ve educated me on several subjects with a plethora of funny sayings to add to my arsenal. I look forward to buying that sexy knife this Christmas! ❤
purely heartwarming. wish we all had a pop like the ol' bumblefack. keep it up!!
1:57 I can relate to that feeling with the old huskies. I'm a Stihl convert now
Tarp trick is a goodie! If you let your kids ride on top they might help you stack it! Greetings from frozen South Dakota. Love your humor.

Ubermenschen shun Uber mentions, but may Lyft a cheek to air on the side of cushion
At 3:18, that sound of laughter after starting the ski is called a Yammie Hahahahaha.

Mustard on grilled cheese? Now that's 5 star fine dining! Dont knock until you try it.😊
It's a taste sensation, my missus thinks I'm mad for doing that.
Just don't get all pretentious with the truffle oil!
Man I love hearing you speak french canadian!
Tu l'as ben en tabarnak!
Prends pas un load de paresseux!
Sweet sweet release! I felt every pull start in my soul.
Beautiful little tour! Thank you! Follow yer pointer!
Buddy your videos are like standup comedy, but way better.. 🍻😂😂😂
Ain't got no gas in it.
Well I'll be damned...
Tellum Carl!
I had some camo tarps around here somewhere... can't seem to see em' now....
I love the sight of blue micro plastic in the wilderness.

Best of luck with your moose! You are a good man! Always enjoy your vijeos…
Puts the the biggest smile on my face!
Just in case i ever get stranded in Canada, i now know, that i can call an UBER.
rofl!
The things I learn on this channel.
We need more wood, luckily that stuff grows on trees.
Keep it up Farstener.

Thank you for bringing us to moose camp for all of us geographically south-er than you.
I would be hauling wood too if I got fed like that. Thanks for the great video sir.
Ah, the sound of younguns. Reminds me of a monster t shirt from years ago.
I always bring my blue tarp out in the woods.
Gotta dump her somewhere when your done and it keeps the birds away, for a while.

That's some pretty countryside, I thought the 'grass was always greener', looks like the 'snow is always whiter'!!!
The worlds most interesting Uber driver.
Making memories with the youngin's, there's nothing better!
Your so lucky. In the UK walk 5 minutes from any road . And you're either on private property or a place the same as you just left.
Lived in England for 3 years. I genuinely feel bad for you guys. Never felt as claustrophobic, over regulated, and watched (cameras EVERYWHERE) in my life.
Jealous of your family experience haha.
Also, “*disabused* of that notion”
:D cheers, I’m buying your damn knife
Sliding furniture like bookcases on a tarpaulin works very well too.
When the better 3/4 asked for more wood, she wasnt expecting a husqvarna
Your saw is the twin to mine, Takes at least a dozen pulls till you remember the on switch. Cheers from Beaver Valley On

Ya jeezlus yuppie, I’m so glad you uploaded :)
By time you got it started you were too damn out of breath to use it!!! I feel you!
My bits and bob are on the way across the pond to me in the UK, thank you AVE sweat shop.
5:08 That "short bus sally" call i was not expecting that at all and i feel bad for how much i laughed

Thanks for sharing. Postcard beautiful. Lot's of Wabi Sabi in that kitchen.

Dang that moose call was loud!! Where I'm at, the moose grunt about as loud as a conversational voice.
Thank you for giving me a break from football! 😂
Cooked plastic, weapons and rather dangerous activities...
Nothing like being a Dad 😂
Ill be taking my 6&7 year old girls next season since they've expressed interest this year. I cant wait

Cookies in the morning. Best part
This hoopy frood knows where his tarp is
My wife would complain the house was cold and I'd send her out to chop wood. She'd strip down after once inside and sometimes the house would get hotter.
"Make yourself a hobo turkey" 😂
Aw, now I want a moose. It's worse for me living in a mooseless land
That may be the most horizon I've ever seen in an Ave video.
5:05 succesfully called my cat
😩 Myyyyaaaaaaaaeeeeeeehhhhhh
😂
A remarkably similar setup to my wife and my winter camp in the UP 2021/22.
Also a remarkably similar chainsaw startup to my habitual.
You are a good Father.
I hearbyou brought Chickadee along. Missed herbon your videos.
Skookum set up! Best way I’ve found to gather firewood when camping, send my grandsons out to gather. Not a lot of big stuff but plenty of it.
With my terrible french, all I heard was hangover. I know that one well
First time I ever saw a moose, it wasn't seeing one cross a road, or walking out of the forest. It was coming out of the ocean with enough seaweed that it looks like a eldrich horror.

According to my calculations it warms you up at least 10 times.
I swear that Husqvarna was a Poulan lol
