Sometimes you can find metal scrap by hitting barrel, chest or armor stands or other stuff. Is what I heard of. So I recommending to start hitting things instead of always collecting stuff. I JUST LOVE YOUR GAMEPLAY✨💕. Explaining things good and building videos and you good to exploring 🤩. Not missing stuff so often.
You can get the scraps by destroying some of the broken pods near the Blacksmith Vault, not all of them drop it, but each that does provides like 3 pieces.@@Chiselchip
I have found some items I couldn't craft yet in the ancient spires jars by breaking them. Metal plates even copper bars. Think their drop list depends on the level of the area the spire is in.
The ruin where you pick up the blacksmith has a lot of destroyables that drop metal scraps (the egg-shaped little housing units for the sleeper guys). If you drop a flame altar close to the ruin you can dismantle them and get scraps or smash them to pieces if you don't have an altar. I dropped an altar nearby and ended up smashing them all to piece and then going back everyday aftert they respawn for more.
Loving the series. Quick tip for you, you can equip items on the character tab. Click a slot and it will show all available items that can be placed there.
As for the altar limit issue. They are probably just avoiding the same problem that helldiver's 2 is having. Because this game is sick as hell and they know that lots of people would be interested in multiplayer
31:02 That's exactly a problem if you increase the amount of Flame Altars in MP games - it's not about limiting the building, it's about keeping the adventure part of the game somewhat relevant. If every player has the full amount of flame altars you can make Shroud travel literally obsolote by simply putting fast travel points everywhere. In a 16-Player game that would be 32 fast travel points even without any upgraded flame altars - and that already doubles to 64 with everyone getting a Flame Altar to level 2 which is super easy to do. Maybe the devs could implement a system where every additional player adds 1 flame altar or so as a compromise, but in my opinion the amount altars you get is easily enough to satisfy builder's needs even in Multiplayer considering that the area of each altar can be increased by a huge amount, giving you tons of space around each upgraded altar - which in turn also increases the numbers of altars you can have anyway.

I played on a separate game file for a few hours before my stream to learn the basics before going live. U can get metal scraps in the ruins all around the meadow ur in for grappling hook pretty quickly.

I think the point in having 4 Altars is because they want you more focused on building a community and playing together rather than 16 players playing solo on one map. It makes more sense if you read the many lore pages scattered around the world.

Also nice for balconies. 2 blocks high… you can walk over it which is weird. But put 1 meter roofs on top of the 2 block. Makes it look nice and you can’t walk over it
Hi chip. Just wanna say thanks for your video's up to now on this amazing game. Also thanks for your starter cabin video which i based mine off. I just put on a different roof material instead of the standard fiber block. I used the flint material that I mined and did my roof in that. Looks a lot nicer than the fiber material, on the roofs anyway. And that does not mean to say your roof did not look amazing , because it did. So I do not mean any disrespect there by the way. Just following your videos now on working your way through the game. I have not gamed for long so need a bit of guidance if you like. By the way chip, you have a cool unique laugh. Ha,Ha. I love this game. It is absolutely huuuuuuge.

You can, but you just have to have the more upgraded chests. The first chests that you can make don't allow for you to craft from them. I was confused by that at first too!
I'm a big Valheim fan and for me, this game wasn't it. Feels very overcomplicated for no reason = Having to craft building blocks to build with instead of just the raw materials? Why is the crafting UI such a chore for the eye to look at? It's also very linear and the "freedom" of the open world is locked behind quests. I don't mind quests but atleast let me do what I want in an open world from the get go. I am also NOT a fan of the shroud feature. I want to explore areas without having a time limit plz (That's on me though, the game is literally called EnSHROUDED...) (And you can build "anything" but only in y/x. Nothing diagonal. Atleast I couldn't find any way to do it) The game doesn't come without pros though: Digging caves and tunnels is a blast! Having a glider was also very fun! Combat, although clunky at times, was fun. The game also looks very beautiful! I give it a 5/10: I had fun but there was also ALOT of things I wish were different. Valheim is just superior because you get the same experience (if not better) for 3x cheaper and only a 2gb chunk out of your harddrive.
Everyone has their own taste for sure! I personally am loving this game after having 1.2k hrs in valheim, it's a nice compliment to Valheim and offers more creative building options that valheim didn't have to offer. It's more complicated to learn for sure, but I already have around 80 hours into it from the beta and demo so now that I'm used to it it's a ton of fun!

They never mentioned the zoom in the tutorial. You have to go through the controls and then look at all the different options to find zoom.

You can get metal scraps by destroying things like old tables, chairs,, armor racks, and Etc.
A faster way to fix the blotchy tree instead of expanding the area or moving the altar u can just choose it down n collect the materials lol
