I should’ve mentioned this in the intro but I excluded mentioning slugs because they are effectively different weapons all together. I could talk about them in the future potentially if this is well received.
Dude I just had one of the most fun and tips used games in comp using Imperial Decree and Ammit. I used exactly what you said about people who will push when you’re critical and was able to get several kills cause I remembered what you said. Also used audio ques when people are amplified to know when they’re gonna push to get the shotty kill. Keep it up Awake. You’re very good at helping us get better at pvp.
I love the shotgun duel mindgames, especially after you've gone back and forth with someone several times. Slide the same corner a few times then throw the mixup and catch em out with a jump, fun stuff.
The first vid to ever talk about how sliding a corner and another player sliding the same corner and you lose them under the gun model. That’s happened a bunch to me and still trying to figure out how to prevent that. Great vid
4:02 the ads vs hip fire thing really helps! I almost always ads my shotgun, but that probably ends up being worse when on defense. Like my primary aim feels better than my shotgun aim somehow. But hopefully this will help out
So true, I notice on my triple jump hunter my aim feels better cause i move so much jumping and dodging forcing me to hip fire more compared to my warlock i kinda plant and and push. The point about players being outside of the gun model woke me up. Thats exactly how i whiff a lot of those shots. (Especially when anteus titan sliding) So to hear a god have the same issue as a bum like me was good to hear. And i will work on that.
It's one of the things that makes Duality so good; on defense you have one of the best hipfire shotguns but on offense you can slide out ADS and map someone with a slug.
An other thing is that when the enemy is low (one hc headshot would be enough) and you have more health keep ur distance with the shotgun. Float/jump higher or slide "away" from the enemy instead of into him because you have to make less damage then him. If you slide into him the chance of a trade is higher because both of your shotguns make more damage so you can possibly get killed.
I remember pattycakes saying that he found hip firing better in general so it's nice to see hip fire vs ads mentioned. I find a I whiff a lot of ads shotgun shots because it is much harder to track the enemy when they are so close. hip firing while defense and ads while offense is something I'm definitely going to try among some of the other tips in your video.
Another good one Awake. Found myself in this situation today in comp and was like “Awake mentioned this” 😂 dude Imperial Decree feels AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGG right now. Ever since the dexterity mods got fixed it’s so great with threat detector opening shot. Keep up the great work
Hip fire everything except for slug and pinpoint slug. You’re gonna want to ADS those so you can reach the maximum range benefit. Aim center mass. Avoid people with rapid fire fusions and precision. Slide corners at an angle. If you’re a blinker I have nothing to say you’re already a genius. One of the old ritual weapons is the perfect shotgun. I believe it’s called reckless, endangerment, perpetual motion, and swashbuckler. It’s the training wheels of shotguns and also low-key the Lamborghini. Stacking dmg buff and faster handling. Solid video too. Big brain plays stay out of shotty range. Retold tale is also a sleeper.
Titan I run synthos with ballistic slam and melee mods. It’s hilarious. Slam+SG+melees+the defensive/melee armor charge mods is almost a team wipe every time.
I gotta say I really like agressive frames, since the damage profile actually allows you to do major damage even if far away or when missing. And while they might not be as consistent, I still prefer them
1st, be a titan. 2nd always be a titan. 3rd use juggernaut. 4th be a titan with knock out. 5th make sure you have 2 other titans using the same shit. 6th be a titan. Is that the list?
Do you have any tips for players who have mained mnk their whole d2 career but looking to swap to controller? I find that I can’t compete anywhere near on the same level on controller that I can on mnk due to reaction speed and comfort ability
Mnk has some great advantages over controller, but if you really want to swap to controller, then: Get a bit of experience on controller because switching to a new input device can throw you off a lot. Invest in kontrol freeks. This isn't really a must, but they help A LOT with the precise aiming over longer ranges. You can also use grip pads on your controller if you have sweaty hands. Find a perfect sensitivity. I wouldn't recommend going above 15 with a controller because it sacrifices a lot of accuracy for the flick speed. Personally, I use 9 sens with 0.6 acceleration, but find what works best for you. The claw grip is beneficial for hitting multiple buttons at once, but if it's too much on your hands, then don't worry about it. The keybinds you use are super important. I'd recommend looking up a video on the best keybinds to use, or play around with your controller and see what works best for you. I watched a tutorial by Shadow Destiny, which helped a lot when starting out on controller. If you're on a computer, prioritize fps over picture quality in video settings because some settings can increase your input lag, which sucks. I hope this helps. Feel free to ask any specific questions that I didn't cover.
Strand hunter Abilities for blint or finish and oath keepers 🍋 arc for blint or finish. Prime them for one shot lemon if they push open, lemon first against perk shooter and threadlings army them, lastly lemon then power melee for kill pick up strand ball for blint dmg then free body shot lemon(one or the other will kill when they hit) 😂 and specter for slowing aping titans and being able to one shot body them after
ive got a bad habit of ads when i know someone is gonna slide me, and they always get lost under my gun model and i die. imma hipfire those encounters now and see if it works
Bro i swear I never want to see endless vale again after this week. I had the worst time trying to go flawless solo cos friends don't play and I'm not good enough to lfg lol Once again your videos don't miss, take your like and get out of here.
Exotic armor that boosts handling (Ophids being obvious, but Dragon's Shadow also works), subclass effects that boost handling (such as Thread of Ascent), making sure your primary also has good handling
blink falls in the same category as someone like epicdefender that has mastered the doulbe GL playstyle: If you can master it, you'd be pretty difficult to deal with in an engagement.
speaking as someone who put in a few hundred kills on double GL for the first time over the past week: epicdefender is incredible at it, but it's easier to get to a medium-ish proficiency with it than you might think. a lot of it is knowing your way around icarus dash, for which any practice you do pulls double duty if you also play high-end PVE because solar warlocks are always in demand there (I run icarus dash over TOF on sunbracers any time I can get away with it). also helps with other transferable skills like paying attention to the radar.
Great video; lots of good information and tactics. You younger guys got us old gamers beat with your quick responsiveness. Stay awake little homie; just don't go woke.
My aim is shit so they never work for me. Duality point blank to their head and I see it hit but it does nothing then I get shot from far away. This game makes no sense. I can go into COD and destroy with a shotty
I’m a slug shotgun user, I’m a higher breed. Better than these pellet users. I never have to complain about range or handling and my damage is extremely lethal. Imagine complaining about aiming haha, couldn’t be me
Shotguns rely on connection very...I mean...VERY hard. That's the reason I never use them and prefer fusions. Every time I use a shotgun against other shotgun it's a trade in 90% cases. Just because game registered my shot after 0,5s or I took double damage from the enemy. It's never a fair game. Mind games and movement are important, yeah, but in the end all that matters is which one of you have better connection. And if you face a fusionist or sniper it's more about range advantage and gun terms.
My favorite thing to do when im up agaisnt someone with a shot gun is to bait them to run at me then dodge backwards and spawn my shadow clone and watch the tables turn as they realize how bad they fkd up.
I should’ve mentioned this in the intro but I excluded mentioning slugs because they are effectively different weapons all together. I could talk about them in the future potentially if this is well received.
Interested. I want to master my moving target / opening shot Gunnora’s Axe. Blink lock. Trying something different
Yes please do a slug guide
Go ahead and make that video I’ll watch it same as this 😊
Slug Video!
Hipfire/OS ones are wild.

The ADS Tipp is huge. To hipfire when be pushen and aim down while pushing. Keeper going on bro 🔥🔥🔥

How does ae work on shotguns? I thought they reverted the changes on pellet shotties
I found your channel by accident and it is very interesting. You explain well. Have you ever wanted to make a Twitch channel? Good job. 👍
I have one in the description and will be starting to stream a lot lot more coming soon!

Thoughts on slugs? Would appreciate a video on those too comparing them with pellet shotguns
I’m planning on making a video about them it’ll just take me a bit because I’m a lot more inexperienced with them compared to pellets.
Great video, great tips. What shot gun are you using in this video?
I gotta say I really like agressive frames, since the damage profile actually allows you to do major damage even if far away or when missing. And while they might not be as consistent, I still prefer them

Throughly enjoy your content. Do you know a viable resource to play scrims?
Great video. I am curious what your list of preferred barrels are?
Threat detector and opening shot together is god tier on shotguns and makes it easier to ads
Hi Awake, i have wanted to get into faceit, scrims and such, but i don't have a team, any tips for me?

Ophidian aspect

For stats i max out range been testing low handing with QuickDraw but stability seems to help recoil and follow up shot a lot ?
I don’t think it’s ever worth lowering handling personally I think it’s the most important stat.
Thank you for the video 🎉🎉
