  • Here's 'Toy Time' (1931) from the new 'Aesop's Fables Volume 1 from the Van Beuren Studios" Blu-ray from Thunderbean. It's a happy mousie romantic musical adventure with our model-shifting heros.

6:57 There was a photo circulating online of the studio orchestra recording the soundtrack to this particular cartoon, with some websites calling this a Mickey Mouse cartoon.

I heard that the photo was staged. As a piano is playing while the photo has saxophones

I saw this on a dvd with generic reissue titles. But it’s a compilation dvd.

it’s just a unrestored blurry print

It IS 1080p! Just click on the little gear to set the desired resolution. Also, I'd say it is definitely a restored print, though probably from not-so-terrific 16mm.

Was the first title card recreated? Because that Aesop's Fables title portion looks pretty static compared to the rest of the frame.
Plus, I think that at the time, the series title was "Aesop's SOUND Fables". This was to emphasize the fact that these were "talkie" cartoons and not silents. As demonstrated here with these Pathe titles - ua-cam.com/video/uOHsiOI6u2I/v-deo.html
