Good Idea? Custom LEGO Modular Building for City Park! Art Museum or University!

- In this update I build some giant MILS plates for 2 parks in the LEGO City. While constructing the plates I starting thinking about what to put in the large park, and I came up with the idea of building a custom art museum modular building. Soon after I became very distracted by building the facade for said building!

A ton of progress has been made with this idea, and the city layout... stay tuned for tomorrow's update!
I think what you can do is make a new area like a sports area or. a car dealership\car garage
The custom moc building s. You seem to do okay with .😊 Free styling away. Their s 3 Lego city's I follow and thay. Got more moc building s in thay city s than just modules
You really need a sports arena of any kind. Soccer field. Football. Hockey rink. Something
He's got the ice rink from winter village maybe a repurpose of that into a ice rink for hockey outdoors
Bump
A football pitch out front of the Tudor Corner would be iconic
@@ianstenerson5387proper football I assume you’re talking about
Baseball field?!
Definitely think an arena or baseball field or something like that would be awesome. Plus the location near the train station would make sense
I’m agreeing with those who suggested a cool outdoor theater/concert space. A green amphitheater with step down slopes would be unique. It would also make a nice space for sunbathers and lunch hour loungers. Also a small children’s playground would be fun and different. Your parks have a lot of grownup spaces. I’m not seeing much in the way of play space.
To be honest, I think you might be overdoing it with the parks. You’ve got the dog park, a farmers market that’s might get expanded and an entire countryside. I’d say you dedicate the front space to more buildings.
Exactly.
Facts man.
This video is literally me making a facade of a building for one of the parks... isn't that a building? lol
I like all the parks 🙂 but get it
@@BricksieI say make all the parks and outdoor spaces! It’s your city.
nay for the new facade, yay for sports arena in the green spot
I agree with others that you have enough parks already. I think a custom church or even a cathedral with graveyard would be a great addition to your city. That is just my opinion and its ultimately your city so you do what makes you and mrs bricksie happy.
Let me this. Just got into building lego/city after 35 years of collecting lego. Your input and videos even though the city is DOPE…. and one of a kind. Has helped me learn and start. This is my bucket list, dream and heart’s truest desire. Have heart failure at 44. Thanks for making these videos. You giving at least one new follower “me” hope to maybe see “LANEVILLE” happen. Much love!
The scale is way off with the start of the custom.
Okay, maybe I'll change the doors
I recommend the height of the entire front wall be scaled down by a few bricks. Use surrounding building floor heights as a reference. Also consider reducing the length of the wall, so you see some green around the entire building.
@rpurnell I disagree, if it's a Art space/museum/Theatre etc.
Ground floor should be taller to create Grandness and more space to Display "art" etc.
Also allows for split levels or Mezzanine.
If you do an art museum, you could be micro builds of previous Lego Art sets
Still think the Lego Store should be in the downtown
Some kind of stage for theater plays or outdoor concerts may be a good use of space in a park
I think the tire shop is the best custom modular you’ve made. It’s realistic, inspired by a Lego set, and looks good and fits well anywhere. Love to see custom realistic modulars with your vast resources! Glad to see you’re phasing out the basic block by block modulars that just look good on the shelf. Keep it up!
Every time you do something custom, you knock it out of the park. The zoo (!), the bridges in the rural area, the bay area? The canal? It's time for you to understand how good a lego builder you are. I say if you feel like building custom stuff, then go for it. I promise to watch every episode. BTW don't worry about it not being in scale or not turning out great on the first time. It's the journey we are here for.
I think you should move forward with the custom modular, and I think it should be an art museum of some sort.
to help yourself learn to build custom modulars you could always try studying previous official lego modular instructions & find some unique ways to combine techineques in your own colors, own style, etc
maybe a cool bandstand or outdoor theatre would fit the space better
I really like the Star for your build. The tall gates would be great for a multi purpose building. Maybe an Information for tourist and a bike rentabel on the grund floor and a museum/Galerie on the second? I would love to See a City history space with nano- Versions of your City. Like a Bricksie timeline of hour your City grew maybe?
The art museum in my city has a sculpture garden on the outside of the museum. Sculptures could be fun mini builds.
Angled walls on the front then corner walls on the back would look good
In my opinion there are just TOO MANY parks lol, already 3 parks in the urban areas , now 4. Already saved a big portion of the city for country side, too repetitive I think
I thought this video was about me making a facade of a building to put in one of the parks... does that not convert it from a park to a building?
The grills would look great in the top windows, gives me a old amsterdam vibe
Love the idea of an Art Museum in the park, looks like a great start! Love the curved window wall.
Make the new park with some basketball courts or a full soccer field with a fence around it and it would be great to have something like that next to the beach
you should definitely to an art museum! I made an art gallery so if you want some inspiration for paintings or sculptures i have a video uploaded
I don’t think your downtown needs ANOTHER park.. you already have the Central Park and the farmers market park. If you’re going to do more green space then do some sort of sports fields. Maybe something that can serve dual purpose as an outdoor concert venue.
Drive in movies would be awesome
Why don't you just put your original University on that green spot instead and put trees and a pathway and few bunches there to and have it as a stand-alone modular, because the way you always put that MOC in has always been beside another building, just have it as a stand-alone MOC.
👍 Thumbs up for the custom builds
If you are sticking with the park route for that space, add some sport fields or basketball court like someone else suggested or add a basketball court and such to the existing park plate more in central of city
I would say finish the city layout first then focus on building custom modulars as that can take months for a single creation.
I feel like an Exhibition building would work nicely for that space at the front of the city. You could have it be anything inside like a Lego or Art Exhibit and a small park out the front where people can rest under trees or picnic in the grass surrounded by flowers. I'm drawing inspiration from the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne Australia where they just had Brickvention. Loving the city and keep up the amazing work! :)
I would put the building in the foreground of the park. otherwise it blocks the view of the other buildings at the very back
It's always tough to find a good balance between buildings, green spaces, and sightlines. Nice to see the process unfold. You could reduce the new park size by 16 studs and add an alley between the existing modular buildings on the right. Or add the museum in the center, or a small restaurant in the middle of the park. Many interesting possibilities.
The facade looks GREAT. Nice interesting angles. Hard to say where it makes sense to place until you work out the height and roof though. It might also look good over on the right side where the construction site used to be. Either way YES to more custom buildings. The custom stuff is always the most interesting to watch since it's unique to a given creator's vision.
I like your art museum idea. Maybe make it round/oval?
Im building a watertower what I would love to show you Bricksie. Maybe a great idea for the park
A large sculpture maybe the love set
First, the scale is all wrong. But I have to say I agree you have too many parks too close together. A sports arena, ball field is needed somewhere in the city.
Jordan, firstly I love your channel and I’ve only ever tried to leave positive feedback before. However, I believe a friend should be honest. This custom build seems to be on the scale of the mansion (with regards to the size of the doors and windows) which you broke down because it wouldn’t look right in the city. Just comparing this new build to the neighbouring buildings, especially the train station opposite, it looks way too big! The current door would need to be half the size to make it comparable. I don’t wish to dampen your enthusiasm for making a custom build in that area, I just think the proportionality of the build should be reconsidered? I hope you accept this constructive criticism in the friendly manner I truly mean it to be?
Okay maybe I'll change the doors
Another Park? Dumb!!
I wanne see where this goes 😊
When you already have 1 large central park. Another smaller park with farmers market. And a massive natural/rural area. Another park just seems like a waste of space in a prime downtown spot!
Why not build a sports arena? Or place the best modulars.
Put the road in front of the current buildings and expand the boardwalk imo
I usually love what you do in your Lego city but I’m afraid that today I have to be slightly critical. I agree with many other commentators in that you already have more than enough parks and green areas, to consider more and a larger one I think is too much. Equally as for the custom build, I don’t like your design, it may be a clever construction but I cannot see such an asymmetrical design ever existing, especially with traditional style windows. It’s a total clash of culture and style, also who would have such a building if it is to be an art gallery opposite a railway station? Apologies if this is seemingly a very critical comment but note that I love everything else that you have put into your project.
In my opinion you already have a lot of park area's and also the massive counrtyside. No need for an extra park right at the front of the table. Just place some nice buildings and make it a pedestrian area without big roads.
Isn't this video presenting this exact idea? I made a facade for a building that is going to go in a park lol
If you make it a university complex you can also use the Harry Potter university set as well. Also I think you should make the Zoo part of the amusement park so you have more room for the city up front. The city is looking amazing!
The current facade scale looks/feels more like a Historic Town Hall-esque building, vs a lil museum inside a park. Maybe halving the overall size, and door size would fit better?
Though, this would be a 3rd green space with an attraction in it (2 botanical gardens, etc), so.. maybe a more open park so it's not so same-sy?
Why do you want to show the back side of the masonry bricks and not the front?
what if you7 put the new fountain set in the park?
Would love to see an outdoor concert in one of the parks! The crowd could be all the sigfigs you’ve been sent and it’d be hilarious picking out band members from all the cool parts! Love your work dude, yooooooo from Scotland!
i think the building should be taller than wide, have maybe 6-8 studs around it in the park? the building looks like the end product would be massive for that area
Moc building takes tons of time which you do Not have Clearly LOL. Hence Rebrickable or upsizing a current design. I watch a ton of moc building channels an there upload schedge is spread out to say the least as it takes alot of time to design an then build them. Either way love your vids, an am Happy with what you do produce! As im not here for that. Honestly im here for you! Wholesome Honest Jordan (an Fam) FUN!
Please leave it as open land for sun bathers, people to kick a ball around, put a band stand in it and some trees for people to sit under and relax with a book. It will look great leading onto the beach front.
Time to rename the layout Park City.
Starting to agree with some of the comments; scrap the park idea. The front of the city should have more downtown buildings/MOCs.
Also, I think the Construction Site should be moved to the front; its current location doesn't look right next to the Boutique hotel.
What is the name of the colorful spiral building you removed from the city? Is that on Rebrickable? I'd like to build one.
Door seems way too big
I say move forward with your custom modular building! The part that you have created so far looks really cool and I’d be intrigued to see what the rest of the building looks like! Keep up the great work and happy building!!
Turn the countryside into a golf course. St Andrews. Build it and they will come!!!!
Move the park to the front near the beach and use the space for you buildings where the park was you can also make the park bigger as you have more space rather than make another park
jordan, i love your idea for an art museum but it is way too big and out of scale (i know you like big ) Somebody mentioned adding scutures to the outside grounds, that sounds like a great idea too
Put the uni you already have in the new park?
Would be sick if u put like a cool old train in the middle of the park.
This can match with the surrounding colors of thr buildings and it is across of the station
You need an 18 century fort ruine over there ( tourist atraction,)!!!!
I think you should scrap the idea of having the building in the park but continue with it as a modular street moc. It'd work really well as a set back corner.
The botanical garden would be good in that park
Really creative custom build, excited to see the rest of it
That custom facade looks nice however i dont really like the inconsistent windows that change styles on either side of the entrance
How about move the botanical garden into the large park space in the city (assuming I’d fit)
the art museum wall just doesnt look good when the wall angles off at an odd angle on one side and has a curve on other. i get concept of artsy look but it just doesnt flow together with sharp angles and curve at a differnt angles away from door
Hi Jordan. At some point do you think you'll build a lego airport into your city now you've moved into the bigger space out the basement?
No more park spaces!!
I'm literally converting one into a building lol
I suggest putting your X-men mansion in the park space where all that green is at by the Tudor corner. 5:31
Have both side be rounded like the left. Maybe a bit smaller. I'm not feeling the right side angle. All is subjective of course, there is not a correct answer.
Add an entrance to an underground carpark and continue the build below decks :)
City looking enjoyed yesterday's whatnot lego day stream
I like the idea of something low profile. I like seeing the building in that area from this angle 6:00
You should build a food truck park
Thats a lotta brick s 😅for mile s .thats for sure. You nick name. Aka that s A lotta bricks. Bricksie. Art musium..oh nice .with a out dor sculpture arear 😊
Hi Bricksie.
I really like the facade of your custom build. Reminds me of the library building in my hometown. I disagree with those who those who think it's too big, and the scale is wrong. One art museum I'm familiar with is a museum and library in one building. This could be a dual function building too. Let your imagination take you on an exploratory creation trip!
Really enjoyed the van Gogh painting reveal. It's a super set.
Was a fan of your content; now im an air conditioner. Thank you kind sir, so cool of you.
What does that even mean lol
Another dose of frustration first the zoo now this 🤦🏻♂️ let’s all agree That the zoo should not even be in the city, and this open area, should not have a costume building when there are ao many amazing sets readily available.
You should leave it a green space with a small, make shift soccer field set up
Can you take the University and make it into an Art Museum?
Noooooooooooooooo
Put a soccer field right there - get the Lego soccer set
Some european cities have an old castle or similar in the city centre.. with a moat even. Might be cool for that empty green area
You need an NHL arena
Maybe build a football field or basketball court in the empty green patch in downtown
You definitely need to make a soccer field on the two baseplates in the park
Make a custom mall 😅😅
An stadium
Make a soccer stadium. You have so many space now. 😅
You should do a Church!!! With park around…
A cemetery in the back
Build a Jurassic park
eBay has clear arched windows. Wrong ones???
Random Question... Do you do all your designs on the fly or do you map them out via a computer program. If not it might help using a program to assist with your indeciveness and reduce all the re-do/ changes you make. It could be a huge time saver. The most important part is that you have FUN!
💚💚💚
NO MORE PARKS!
I definitely think the vibe is there with the MOC gallery so keep going. I thought a university there would be better, but I actually like your idea of an art gallery more. The space by the farmers market could be a basketball court, tennis court or football pitch maybe? Would retain the sightlines without adding more green space. I think doing a full blown university campus, all custom could be a long term project to let you really flex your creative muscles and that could be out in the countryside. It would be almost like its own small scale city that you could just build in your own style and could be exactly the way you want it. Just some thoughts, but ultimately it's your city and just seeing this project as a whole is incredible so thank you for letting us be a part of it
Big fan of custom modular buildings. With the amount of green space that you want to preserve in the new waterfront part, I think it's worth building on a slight hill - two or three bricks high. The canal park space might offer a similar opportunity but you'd only need to do it on one side and can have the building built into the hill slightly.
Think you need a catholic church or orthodox russian church. Bias opinion because they tend to be the prettiest churches to me
