Original FFVII, this mini-game was fun. In this game, it's fucking torture.

The time limit is bullshit ive had like 6 guys attacking the boss but the time runs out before he's dead
I love how the boss freezes all your units too so you can’t attack him for the last 10 seconds too

Playing on normal. Yes, played Fort Condor on the Yuffie DLC. This is pure torture. The timer really makes it unbalanced. Especially because you lose by default if the time runs out.
Even when you beated just one of their condors, and you have all 3. You should win if you have more condors than the enemies!

What make this mini game more frustrating is that your limited on your set units and majority of them are useless cloud tifa and barret hardly make a difference
They're the only ones that matter lol check it:
1: spawn 2 elites and a cleric immediately
2: drop an appropriate unit type on the other side
3: Spam rangers and get barret, use him to clear the path
4: Spam knights and drop Cloud on the main base
It works in every round, give or take some rng

BARELY beat the 3rd one, but this 4th one is IMPOSSIBLE!...I just had to turn it off
Phase 3. Killed everyone. Enemy had no towers. Was about to destroy the main tower by a couple hits. Time runs out. I lose the whole thing. Fuck this mini game.
Intertrade was better because you can at least pick up new ones.

How did they make Fort Condor worse than it was in the Yuffie dlc?
The stupid time limit and deciding to make it as hard as possible it’s so frustrating it may be the only thing keeping me from platinuming the game. It’s so frustrating
It was much easier in yuffie dlc you could pick your units and didn’t lose by default by timer on normal. It’s fucking braindead

I just gave up on the 4th one. I accept defeat. Everything else in the game has been great so far but this part was torture.
The frog game has been worse...but this one takes the cake. I don't even care about the AI it's just not enough time needs like 3.30 or 4 min timer
@toshman696969 yeah that frog game is annoying I can't get passed 1:05 still need another 15 seconds somehow but I don't think you need to beat that mini game for plat. Trophy..correct me if I'm wrong
A lot of people seem to be struggling, especially with Stage 4. It does seem that game difficulty influences the mini-game. If you just want to get it done and move on, turn the games difficulty down in the options menu to Easy.
I'm so fucking angry that no one told me that switching it to Easy effected this minigame before now. I've spend a whole day on Stage 4 alone
Thanks for this... Stage 4 is killing me. I swear it is AI learning because i have tried following you to a T and the boss is doing different stuff and wiping the floor with my units

I don't think I played this minigame in the previous game. I actually enjoyed it for the first time in Rebirth. After that it just got not fun at all. I've been tearing my hair out trying to beat stage 4 on normal, now seeing that you said general game difficult does change minigame difficulties too I am so glad, fuck this I'm doin' it on easy mode lol. It sucks.
Same thing I’m gonna do it honestly makes no sense how the big boss can STOP THEM FROM MOVING FOR A LONG TIME was almost mange to beat him but stop all of my troops from moving making me lose

@@johnvibes3822 Yeah for real. If I recall I was able to beat the first 3 on normal difficulty with a guide on what units to place and where to place them and some trial and error. But the 4th one for fucks sake, spent an hour trying to beat it on normal and I usually don't get mad at games but I was about to break my controller, fuck that boss lmao. Switched it to easy and man it was so much better. That 4th stage took all the fun out of the minigame for me and I never wanna play it again. I enjoyed the 1st of the Fort Condor minigames as it felt fair and fun but the difficulty spike after the 1st one is unreasonably huge.

This gamemode is fucking abominable. If you’re going to FORCE this bs on us LET THE UNITS BE MORE EXPANSIVE! LIKE IT WAS IN THE ORIGINAL REMAKE THAT ONE WAS GOOD! forcing us to use low tier ass units while the enemy gets fucking all the good shit is ASSCRAP.
How they could force people who want to complete the extras in this game when they have a successful new queens blood is beyond me. It’s as if the devs really said fuck your fort condor.
I’ve analysed every second of the 4th fight and I swear the enemy units are spawning like a second earlier for me. At one point you have 2 reds and a cleric on the left but by the time I’m able to spawn the 2nd red the 1st is dead and the cleric is being targeted. Idk why this is the case but it’s making it unnecessarily more difficult than it should be.
A few folk have pointed out that difficulty impacts the ATB gauge. Have you tried changing down to the next lowest difficulty?

You should probably mention that you were playing this on EASY. I was going insane following this and couldn't replicate it until I realized you were playing on Easy this whole fucking time.

This guide HELPED ✅ (Fight 1). I literally only followed up until 1:57 and the rest was smooth sailing, making my own decisions. Next thing you know, I was cornering from left to right, then centre with a victory if 25 seconds to spare. Thank you so much!! THIS is the guide to follow.
Unpopular opinion: I think this was well played out, in terms of needing to actually think and strategize.

thanks, you're the only easy mode guide on the site and it worked perfectly.
I was able to beat it by advancing as quickly as possible. Making sure I had all the counter soldiers based on color and then had 2 crossbow things pointed directly at the HQ. I always focus on the HQ and completely ignore the bosses on the side. And lots of Clerics. I used Cloud/Barrett and Defense Line (Option 3).
How can you ignore the Bosses one the Sides ? I can only place troops an them they instantly Go to the Sidebosses
Stage 4 was annoying af I would destroy all his troops and for some reason he just stuns all my characters until time limit
Just follow the enemies weakness and ignore the wolf also when you increase the red or blue summon them close to the enemies eagle to eliminate them quickly that out of the way the team will attack gilgamesh but he also uses a time stop ability so summon more clerics and units if possible. Thats how I won the quest.
Hard mode was pure hell but I basically used the same tactics in this video to get it done. Great guide

You’re trying to follow a strategy thats being played on EASY mode. Try switching the difficulty it will make a difference, your ATB will charge up must faster

Just a heads up, as a few folk pointed this out in the comments, apparently difficulty setting changes the mini-game. I switched regularly throughout the game so had no idea if it impacted this mini-game or not. Sorry for not mentioning it.
Yeah your right I just tested it out myself was on Fight 2 literally lost in less than a minute but backed out switch the difficulty to Easy and beat it within less than 2 minutes
This is so frusterating! Twice in a row, I get to a point where I will very clearly win, but then run out of time with only a few hits left. So freaking evil to make them game this way.

The 4th encounter was HELL
I just tried for *2 hours* and i can't beat this fucking minigame (3rd). Last time i tried i thought i was gonna get it. With about 10 seconds on the clock and the enemy a fraction of hp left, my moronic soldiers just stopped attacking and start scratching their balls or something.
So fuck this game... I was so mad i uninstalled it. Dunno, maybe i'll play again some later... Or not.
Idk if anyone said anything about this. But yes I was playing on easy and I found a good cheesy strategy
Select the 4th formation for straight defense
You should start with a level 4 atb gauge
Soon as the battle starts select 3 of the level 1 soldiers and place them up as far as you can on the left or right side
and as they are moving up select one more level one soldier and place him as far as you can up on the opposite side.
Now let your atb gauge build up as far as it can and then select and place the trebuchet in the middle of the battlefield before that moving line starts going back down, so it’s lined up with boss target,
it should let you put 3 at a time with a filled gauge if you keep spamming the trebuchet it should easily win the battles real fast since it throws boulders
I was struggling with this too when I first played this until I watched a video on how to get past it. All I had to do was add Cloud and Barret and also keep constantly adding soldiers on both sides. How to add Cloud and Barret? Press the L1 button when their bar reaches a little past their picture on the top left of the screen.
Bro im about taking down this boss, and then he suddenly change his element and wipeout my entire squad 😂

I just spent the last hour trying to do stage 4 on nomral mode and I honestly gave up and switched it to easy mode. I kept on having like 3-5 guys on the captian each time but the timer would end when I had him at about hald hp. It's funny though because after attempting it on easy mode I was able to knock it out first try without any struggles. It's just crazy how they can have a fun mini game like queen's blood and then fort condor. I would have figuerd they would have learned from the 1st remkae + intergrade but unfortunately they have not.
That last battle was way harder than yours but still helped

TIP FOR THIS MINI GAME:
The best way to easy win this minigame is pay attention on the type of enemies that are coming.
SHIELD is better against SWORD. SWORD is better against BOW. BOW is better against SHIELD.
Just deploy your troops following this “guide” and you will make your play much easier.

Ya i played this mimicking your exact layout and every piece u played at exactly the same time and lost over 20 times and could not figure our what the heck was wrong until i read the comments and YES ! If u follow this exact strategy IT MUST BE IN EASY MODE or this will bot succeed but…..

Every piece has another piece its weak to and u just play whatever is the opposing piece and they dont even explain it very well in rebirth about BUT again THANKS A MILLION !!!
I simply could not win with this method. I tried it at least 10 times. I got close a few times, but it depends on so many factors, like what mode the captain switches to.
I modified your strategy with the full offense team to use the Trebuchet (the catapult) in front of the captain, right in front of the middle mountain, and won with nearly a minute to spare!
I then just tried the same strategy on hard mode for grins, and it was actually easier on hard mode because you can get 3 Trebutchets! If you place them right next to each other, they will all land on the captain periodically.

I'm 50/50 on it. I enjoy it as a game mode, I don't enjoy it being forced as part of the protorelic story, at least not in the volume it was. I think once would've been okay.

Did anyone have an easy time on the hard mode after completing all of the normal 4 battles on this. It took me hours on the normal fights then I cleared the hard mode fights first try on all of them. Weird bit I'm definitely not complaining.

just beat it on Normal mode, used Barrett & Cloud, option 3 Defense, best I can say is bum rush the SHIT out of the enemies from the start matching whatever weakness he drops when you can, placed cleric on each side after summoning soldiers, placed turret in front of boss, summoned Cloud to help kill a big guy quick, used Barrett the same, placed another turret slight to the left of first turret later on so they'd both hit boss, threw in last cleric and ganged up on boss in middle
FUCK.. THIS… GAME. MY GOD… this is absolute bullshit. Who play tested this and said “yep. This is really fun. Don’t change it.”

Edit: Finally beat Fight 4, but I don't see myself beating Fight 4 on Hard Mode, which is too bad that I need it for World Intel.

I struggled even on easy. What ended up working is just making ballistas at the end and spreading them out a little
The ballistas are quite strong. I used them wrong a couple of times and then didn't use again until much later. Definitely a useful unit

I only beated the first 2 levels at normal mode then beated lv 3 and 4 at easy cause it’s too hard

I just sat there and stared at 5 troopers that were one hit away for victory, frozen for what seemed like a full 10 seconds. Anything else i put out got one shot before it could attack. How many testers actually did all 4 missions?
Anybody knows if there is any trophy related to Fort Condor minigame? Or can we beat it in Easy difficulty and keep on going with the Normal difficulty for the game?

if content is literally optional and skippable, then it is not forced. Everything about this quest, mini-game and Intel progression is entirely optional.
