@@theVRpilot The 6m cable is obviously longer. No big deal for sims but a huge difference for room scale games like Alyx. I have some retracting pulleys on the ceiling for those games. The cable is also thinner and more flexible. Another huge difference is the connection quality. The stock cable seems to degrade and cause 'snow' for many users. The 6m cable only requires 1 usb port and the DP port instead of 2 usb ports. The headset seems to be made for round heads and people with oval heads will find it loose when moving your head around. Not a big issue for sims but noticeable for room scale games. There are 3d printed adapters available for the Vive DAS strap. Also look at some of the aftermarket face foam. It will seal any light gaps at the sides and is more comfortable. Be careful with drivers. Pimax has released some buggy ones when they were testing the large/90 settings. I reverted to pitools 271 with the 298 firmware and have been leary of using their latest. Settings are large, quality 1, 90hz. All the other options are off. Some games might require parallel projection. Then in steamVR, set the resolution to cover the native panel size, probably about 60%. After that I set options in iRacing to get the fps up to 90. Running a 3080.

All "others" that tried the Varjo and have the 8kx top said that the Primaxx panels were quite disappointing especially in combination with the lenses. Nobody could go back to the 8kx after seeing the Aero. What is your idea about this?

I'm never been impressed by something if I've seen something that have surpassed it in terms of quality already. He's the first person that is so amazed by the 8kX AFTER having seen the Varjo Aero. All others indeed are not so amazing by the 8kX anymore after having seen the Varjo... So I'm really looking forward to the review to see what is so amazing about the 8kX resolution and panel!
So with those panels, each eye is getting the high resolution screenshots that we normally "pop out" of VR to snag? (4K) I think even your 3090 is going to feel that! - Can't wait for the review!
I'm 8KX'sing for 5 months now. Very happy :D Yes you need - depending of the use- one or two base stations (two recomended) and a set of controllers. I'm running the 8KX with basestations v.2 (Valve or VIVE is the same) and the comfortable and very precise Index controller. GPU is RX6900XT.
Using the Vive DAS headstrap makes it way more comfortable and fixes the "moving" on your head issue. Also get the optional 6m fiber optic cable.

So surprisingly depending on the title it does well, but obviously performance only improves if you either drop the render scale or graphics a bit.
So what are your settings in MSFS 2020 to include PiTools and SteamVR? Are you going to do a review?
