Amazing car
I own a 2004 sl500 and it is an amazing car. Just beware the reason it's under $20,000 is because there are a lot of classic/vintage Mercedes out there but also it's a money pit to maintain. The thing is a hydraulic and pump time bomb waiting to go off all costing 1000's in parts. I haven't had any major issues like this yet but my understanding is the ABC system will fail at some point in its life and you're not going to like the repair bill. Anyway not to put you off because I've had one for over a year and it's been the most fun I've had driving this beauty around. But I live in a city close to work etc and i don't use the sl as an everyday car so if it breaks it's not a huge issue for me. So yes get one if you can but not as your car you rely on to get to work etc.

Like my grandfather used to say "kid... you might be able to buy it...but can you afford to fix it"...I suppose if the price is that low to start with then you have a bit of room to afford some repairs in the future...it would be worth the risk to own one of these cars...long may your good fortune continue!!.😎🇺🇲

Great job Peter for getting such a rare color Mercedes. Im always commenting that your Mercedes and other german cars are too color bland. I don' think i ever saw this model in this color before in my life. I love those cars that stand out from the crowd and offer some exclusive qualities. HARD AS IRON Yes they are. I often say that to myself all the time. The reason Silver, or as the Germans call it, Platinum is such a popular color is that silver(platinum) Is the country color for Germany. In international racing each country has a given color to identify their cars; Germany is silver, Britain is Green, Italy is Red. So German automakers love Silver as a color.

I had seen a Mercedes 500SL convertible in pale silver blue on Yonge Street in 2011. I asked God later for a diamond covered car. It was this model with the pale sky silver blue covered in diamonds. I was thrilled. But it did not fit the industrial city of Toronto. I had my mom Denise sit in the driver's seat and asked for Dave Barrow the Mayor to be brought in to witness it. I did take a drive around the block with my mom and then I knew I was not going to keep it. Like everything it is fun while it lasts. I like the bling. I am the only one to ever think about a diamond covered car ever on all of human history. And still today nobody has ever thought of it. Only Me the Queen Natalie. Thanks God for the ride.
