  • Petrified Forest National Park is a small park on the famous Route 66. For such a small park, there is a ton of diversity. There is obviously petrified wood throughout the park, but there is also badlands, Native American ruins and petroglyphs, badlands, and more!
Remember to leave no trace when visiting national parks. This includes leaving the petrified wood that is in the park. It is a cool souvenir, but it is against the law to take the wood from the park. If you would like to take home some petrified wood, there are gift shops right outside the park where you can purchase some.
