Nice Finds with the Nokta Legend - Metal Detecting In Dorset, UK

- I go metal detecting on a field I've only previously done once or twice, with no success. This time things were different! Some nice coins and artefacts popping out of the soil.
I should have been away on the UK History Finders weekender, and was looking foward to meeting lots of people. Including @AngloCelticMetalDetecting but the weather put a stop to that. Still, a nice old silver coin can cheer anyone up!
.. and a belated birthday to @DiggerDanMetalDetecting way up there with the many great channels that inspired me to start recording my adventures.
Follow me as I metal detect and dig my way around the beautiful Dorset countryside and beyond in 2024!
I'm Tom, born and raised in Dorset, UK.
I started out with a Minelab Sovereign Elite, Minelab Explorer SE, Simplex+, and now The Nokta Legend.

Gift.😜🔝❤️
Thank you! Yeah I saw that, Dan's a lucky man an axe head is top of my bucket list 😁
Thanks for a really enjoyable video. Lovely William 3rd silver. When I was young my dad had racing pigeons and the rings were exactly like the one you found. From around the mid 1970’s they changed to coloured plastic rings but either of them would tell you the year. If it’s a Uk pigeon ring it would start with GB then the year and then the unique number. I would be really interested to know the year if it is a pigeon ring. I heard you mention 55 so could well be near on 70 years old. Cheers.
Thank you, that's really kind of you 🙂 I think the pigeon ring maybe foreign, was looking for the GB but couldn't see it. I'll do some more research and reply if I figure it out. Love finding them either way, would be great if it was an old one 😁👍
If your finding apparent window latches or stair rod holders it would be apparent one would be on the site of a house & a joke token would possibly be from a joker who would have lived in a long demolished house or possibly a house built to house a farm hand & Family. My great Grand Parent had a house built for him to house his Family & farm the land but no permission is available to detect the area.
Yeah you could be right there, I have found lots of old building bits & pieces. That's a great bit of family history you have, a real shame you cant get permission on there. Keep trying though, you never know! 🙂
