I'm proud of you, dawg! Getting a foot in the door is so hard in all fields. I've been working while going to college for computer science. I don't know how I do it. I would take any opportunity to get my foot in the door just to get some experience! Thank you for making this video and motivating me to keep trying. 🐐
Thank you Nathanial, you know the crazy thing is, people still think I'm being dishonest or trying to sell something. I'm simply telling everyone what I used to get my job and trying to spread the word cause there's opportunity out here.
Yeah dude people don’t listen. lol. I tried telling some people about how I work from home in customer service making well over $20 an hour, and how much better it is than having to drive somewhere. No adverse weather. hi I am currently in college and am I interested in the DOD and NSA regarding education do you have other certificates besides sec+ Im planning on getting my CCNA and SEC+.
@FA-Football.1
All I have is my Sec+ and 12 years of IT experience. Sec+ is the baseline to get a DOD IT job. Also you have to pass the required background checks to get a government security clearance.
@@kelj4517 , sheesh, 12 years experience. I'll have my bachelor's in computer science and an A+ cert, Sec+, and CCNA. Do I have a shot? I'll pass the background checks no problem. Also, when you work for the DOD, are there certain locations where you would have to move?
@@kelj4517 I will have my bachelor's in computer science with a sec+ a+ and ccna do you think that is competitive enough to get into the DOD, also when working for the DOD did you have to relocate? Wondering how many DOD locations there are?
@FA-Football.1
Look on USA Jobs. You can build your profile/resume on their website.
$24/hr starting pay is good. Pre-Covid I started at $17. At $58 now. Keep at it buddy.
What IT company ?
@ I’m not at the same place. I started as an installer on a contract basis for ochsner, got hired to full time then left and went to Mercedes as an MES Engineer at $65k salary, then left there to contract for the DoD building and maintaining flight simulators for fighter pilots in the navy. Currently make $58 an hour.
Just always be on the lookout for shit. And don’t let a jobs “requirements” dissuade you. I have no degree or certifications.
Congrats on landing your first IT job! I’m on my 3rd month of the Google Coursera UI/UX course and almost done. This video gives me so much motivation to keep going and start building my portfolio soon. Thanks for sharing your story! LET'S GET INTO IT!

Edit: You just like me :D I'm doing web dev as well but not sure about this either man after 2 years of grinding. Might look into IT too, who knows.
Hell yea man! I work Tier 2-3 tickets started at $21 few years ago as tier 1. at $33 rn just 4 years in after the military. Remote life is so great I wear a basic clothes and watch movies on down time. Free phone and internet I love this shit!

@@Mikkeah392 how’d you get in? I have a 2 year degree and some internships and still can’t get in
Dude you are one of the most down to earth, and transparent person I have ever seen on the internet. I am sure you’ve helped a lot of people that are struggling with finding work, etc.
Doing UA-cam “full time” atm because of family problems, and I understood how you felt regarding the anxiety..
I might do the course just to have a backup skill in case things goes south. You might have mentioned it on your previous video (I’ll be watching it) but I was wondering where did you find the job you have right now? Linkedin? Just IT on the search bar?
I appreciate that CaptPanda I feel that's whats missing on UA-cam. I found it on Linkedin
What's up bro! I just got into IT like 2 months ago, with little to no experience. As of right now I'm just intaking calls and tickets, solving issues here and there. I'll be learning how to remote in soon. Excited man!
Thats dope! I hope you're able to get a fully remote position keep applying for positions as you are in your current role now. Make sure to add the role that your in on your resume so that you can use that as leverage when applying.

I appreciate this content bro you’re pushing me to take the course & make a change in my life. I’ve been working retail for years making low wages & im tired of it
Bro I respect this sooo much bro. I been in IT for some years and I been telling ppl do this. Compared to doing security or overnight doing like other stuff. You can be home and do whatever in your life as long as you do apply yourself. Appreciate this brother. Being a gamer young made me get into this as well. So keep going bro.
Lets get into It! First time watching, you showed up in my algo because im trying to get my first It job. I think a lot of people would enjoy your content about IT. Keep going!
I guess I got recommended this because I'm studying Computer Science. I'm not even in 'Murica, but I'm happy for you man. Good work!
This is the first step to a 6-figure job man. It takes time and effort. If you keep taking jobs like this every few years and garner lots of experience, by the time you are in your late 30s / mid 40s you can easily have a 6 figure IT job.
This is gold , my brother !!!!! I really respect your honesty and transparency . I got a new sub
I just got into my SDR job for a Saas company and im more than excited, but dude your content is outstanding, the community appreciates someone like you who is so open and transparent with everyone!
Congratulations, how is the role what do you do on a daily bases. Thank you for the compliment, it means a ton

thanks to your transparency i now realize im worth way more man
You may have to change location if you have the ability to. Or start applying to jobs in different states and move there once you get the job. You can use the job offer letter as proof of income for your new apartment/place when you do get the job. That's what I did at the place I live at now to move from New York to Houston
as a 21 year old senior that is about to graduate (IT major) in a few months w no professional IT experience, not even internships, this gave me a lot of hope. Thank You.
I started off in the military lol. No regrets cause I have to start somewhere. I chose 25B IT Specialist haven’t been in a full year yet. I still got 5 years left and plenty of time to get experience and certs. Find your starting line and do it. Don’t let anyone judge you cause it’s your life to live and only you can get to the point you wanna be. Have a blessed day‼️
Same came in as a 25B and about to transition out lol. Got a degree certs and experience. Make sure you get everything while your in.
bro your truly a god send man. i hope this helps alot of people. god bless you Hec you didnt have to do this for us. Wish there were more people like you doing this in depth videos without having to money grab people tryna make it out
Congratulations!! Hey bro! No worries about your pay now. All you gotta do is keep going up from here!!! All the way up or laterally! Every 2 years, switch to another position or move to a different company. PLUS, you work remote! You are saving up in gas!
I make the same amount as you right now.

Massive respect for the transparency. Been working in IT for nearly 5 years now and it only gets better, you just have to believe in yourself.
Haven’t even watched the video yet cause I’m at work but just wanna thank you for being so helpful and sharing your inside knowledge on stuff like this man, it really does help. I’ve being thinking of getting into IT/Computer science for a while now and I might pull the trigger cause of you
Same, I’m pulling the TRIGGER😂❤
It took me a while to pull the trigger but I was just at a point of desperation and I just kinda said "what do i got to lose, the least I'll get is a new skill that I can find a way to leverage"
Shout out to you young brother. I pray you all the success you desire.
I made the same at my first IT job with no experience about 1.5 years ago. I thought I was making FU money coming from a perpetually minimum wage family.
I just left that job for a 25% raise couple months ago. The growth is crazy but this is where the hard work BEGINS bro. You gotta really pick SOMETHING and start specializing if you want a chance at that 6 figures within 2-3 years.
BTW I'm proud of you and you've clearly been working on both your technical skills and your mental fortitude
Man I like your delivery. The way you present is so good! I’m new to your channel and enjoyed this video and watched it all the way through.
Stack ya bread young man. I love videos like this because they're realistic. That's what's lacking on these algorithms. Realistic expectations when breaking into ANY new avenue can take months amd years of grinding but people gotta realize how much you can stack and also invest into yourself financially. Keep going! i love these vids, as a computer science student who has applied to hundreds of internships and only gotten a few interviews these are very reassuring
CrazyBlooo, there's a TON of people trying to get the same position as you and you have to fight through the noise. Constaly find ways to improve your resume and look at how other people have gotten into tech recently. You can do this by looking at some of KevTech's videos or Josh Madakor's,
Homie has good and honest advice, I’m a Sys Admin and you just gotta focus and stay on the grind and you’ll make it

I'm proud of you, dawg! Getting a foot in the door is so hard in all fields. I've been working while going to college for computer science. I don't know how I do it.
I can cook or DoorDash - I don’t waste minutes of my lunches driving around to get food or whatever. $24 and working from home is good money, especially if you’re good with money. lol I think people think unless you’re born with a silver spoon in your mouth, you’re cooked. It’s just not true.

My first IT job I was paid 13/hr your doing great bro. My advice to getting a higher salary was to job switch every 1-2 years. For your first job starting out I recommend staying there a year and getting the comp tia trifecta and ccna after that year is done apply somewhere else and you will be shocked how much of a pay jump youll get. Best of luck on your new career!

Just stay humble, my brother. As you move up, keep learning. I was really cocky when I started moving up the ladder. I told myself I am better than anybody and i didn’t need to learn anything new because I had already made it, and I was on top.
