My son loves watching this movie, at first i was nervous until i finally took a second time to watch it with him and than i felt better not watching it alone. Love the extensive location shots on this one. Ill be watching it again.
I love US , it doesn’t get the respect of deserves in my option . Glad you showed the burn mark in the road , that’s always fascinated me that it’s still there . The house scenes and a few others are in the LA area if you wanna track those down
Doesnt get the respect it deserves?!? Its one of the most overhyped movies thats been released in a long time. Imo his movies are just filled with his propaganda undertones.
@@fearthejuggalo3722 you are exactly correct and that’s a huge problem in media is everyone has become political it actually takes away from the good concept of the actual film..
I love Santa Cruz been going there my whole life. I Remember being a kid with my best friend acting like we’re the lost boys characters on the board walk in the early 90s
Your attention to detail and the way you speak with great speculation is very on point !!!! Makes you’re videos different and interesting too!! Keep doing your thing. #GrimmLife
Vision Quest was a movie from that same era (1987 ish) and one of the actors said he was an Indian and I’m sure that whole mirror maze was a nod to it.
Fun Fact they had actual stairs there ( next to the swings), they actually had a couple staircases when I was a kid but they renovated that area so much that its a wall now. Defiantly blast of the past, miss going there so much! I hope you guys had fun down there sucks stuff was closed. Awesome video and Happy Halloween!
You both are so nice. Seem as if you would be such good friends to talk with. Thanks for the neat videos. Never stop doing what you do, it is the best thing on UA-cam and television for that matter! Keep it spooky!
Can’t wait to make it out there one weekend!!! Grew up going to the boardwalk before I ever saw the Lost Boys, and obviously before US was filmed. So exciting to see familiar locations in awesome movies!!!
I love watching all of your videos, always new things to add to my road trip list, and of course the stories I absolutely love the way you narrate your videos. Jessica’s personality reminds me so much of someone I knew many moons ago, unfortunately she passed away, gonna sound weird but it’s almost like seeing an old friend every time I watch one of these videos.
I am from aptos and miss this place so much , I worked in downtown Santa Cruz and miss the people and my surfing spots. Thanks for posting this awesome video guys.
Thanks for another feature at SantaCruz beach boardwalk no matter how many other films were shot there the entire time watching I had The Lost Boys stuck in mind . Love how you keep the visiting sites a surprise instead of telling where next.
I love seeing your videos. Great filming and editing. Also it is great how you line up shots and show the original to compare to the present. Great job. It is interesting that the boardwalk rides are closed when you were there, but at 15:50, I noticed that it looked like someone was sitting in the red gondola. Perhaps a dummy model. I did not see it move. Great video. Thanks again and keep safe.
Thank you Micheal and Jessica for another awesome video! When i first saw Us it scared the hell out of me cause i thought it was a movie about someone who had severe anxiety and was slowly going insane but i was wrong. It sucks that the scenes at the beginning and end of the movie(vision quest/merlins quest house-where young and older adelaine went ino) were not filmed there. I honestly thought it was filmed on that sight, it would have been fun to see you guys going down there to recreate the scenes but mostly likely it would have been off limits to vistors if it was truly filmed there. Us is one of my favorite horror films that i can't stop watching now, even rewatching it i see things i never picked up on til i did a double take or triple take a few times. Some of what i read in this movie is true there are actually abandoned tunnels under cities/towns that go on for miles with only a few ways out with no sunlight/etc that was used for government use(unsure of what the tunnels were used for and why they were built and never destroyed) now no longer in current use just abandoned, perfect use or inspiration for a horror/psychological film!
Absolutely cracking movie and that was a really great look around the locations. Thanks as always for taking Us ( see what I did there). What was making me smile Jessica's fabulous wardrobe changes asides was the beautiful weather, I think I would love it there in the off season.
I live about 45 minutes away from Santa Cruz and I was there last year on Thanksgiving day and went to all the locations from the movie US. I'm glad u guys did this. This is an awesome video
I absolutely love this UA-cam channel :-) You guys are the best at doing these types of videos & have so much passion in doing so & make the viewer feel like we’re walking along right with you both :-) I live in Windsor,Ontario,Canada which is right across the river from “Detroit Rock City” or “The Motor City” as they call it. There’s so much history in Windsor,Ontario & Detroit. In Windsor we have “Hiram Walkers Canadian Club Whisky” factory right down on “Riverside Drive” on the Windsor/Detroit riverfront & they have tours you can take & i took one which was very interesting as they talked about the legendary gangster Al Capone & his days of smuggling booze across the Windsor/Detroit river & back in those days the Windsor/Detroit river would freeze right over & they would drive their old Ford Model-T cars right across the frozen river smuggling booze lol. Anyways keep up the great work you two & cheers from Canada :-)
When I was living in San Fran. We would always take a Trip to Santa Cruz. I have pictures from me as a kid in front of the Park. Me and my buddies would take a trip over there ride our boards. I remember we climbed under the bridge to hang out . We debated on jumping off the bridge in the water
Love your videos!. By the way you are not going mad, there were stairs there. I have spent a lot of time at the Boardwalk being a local to Santa Cruz. But I promise you and guarantee you there were stairs there!.. you guys keep doing what you are doing!
Yay! I’m so glad you did Us! I grew up in San Jose and spent all of my free time in Santa Cruz as a kid so anytime there is something filmed there I’m happy. Thanks for giving me a little glimpse of home today (and on my birthday!) ❤️
Sabta Cruz is a good place to flim movies. Like Us and The Lost Boys. Love watching Jessica walking around with the scissors. Just like the poster for the movie. Michael and the camera work good together. Happy Halloween grimmlife collective.
Love your channel, i started watching your videos after the Lost Boys video, i live in Santa Cruz, i ride my bike by that all of the time, would have been cool to see you guys filming out there. Welcome back to Santa Cruz.
LOL Feb being black history month, I was going to suggest you guys doing something Grimm around the spirit of the month. Of course you did not cover US for that reason, but its interesting how great minds can end up thinking alike :-) Peele is a talented nerd and that is a great movie, but was not aware of all the Easter eggs. Thanks again for another great video.
I'm glad you filmed the US Santa cruz locations. It's neat to see that the burn mark is still visible. I remember when Cory Feldman did a meet and greet before the Board walk showed the Lost Boys for the 20th aniversary The Board Walk used to show films on the beach. Thank you for doing what you do. Your videos are terrific to watch!🙂
My son loves watching this movie, at first i was nervous until i finally took a second time to watch it with him and than i felt better not watching it alone. Love the extensive location shots on this one. Ill be watching it again.

The plan is to hit the other ones for sure. Have a little something special planned for the house and lake.
Ehh it’s a little overrated and some of the scenes are just flat out goofy… great concept tho👍🏼

11:11 is an important time in the celebration of Carnivale in some cultures. It begins at 11:11.
a good composition, postcard indeed
This is my favorite channel on UA-cam ✌️ I love your videos
Actually there was 2 haunted attractions on the board walk.Haunted Castle AND Fright walk!!
Vision Quest was a movie from that same era (1987 ish) and one of the actors said he was an Indian and I’m sure that whole mirror maze was a nod to it.
Never have seen the movie BUT I am most certainly going to watch it now. Thanks!
Santa Cruz is amazing !
I look forward to meeting the both of you at the Cincinnati Horror Hound in March
At 0:58 that would be a great poster for a sequel
I absolutely love your videos! The fact you take the time to match up each shot with the movie shot is something I really appreciate! Keep it up!!
Why is Jessica so freaking adorable
Jessica modeling for that thumbnail is the chef's kiss.

Remember seeing lost boys in the theater. Wow 35 years just like that.
You both are so nice. Seem as if you would be such good friends to talk with. Thanks for the neat videos. Never stop doing what you do, it is the best thing on UA-cam and television for that matter! Keep it spooky!

Keeping everything a surprise is just as much fun for as well. Everyday should be filled with at least one surprise.
Love the vids guys keep them up

Jordan Peele from key and Peele
Us was pretty cool and the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk scenes had an almost peaceful dream like aesthetic to them.
