I was 13 years old when I saw this movie. I went out and bought this soundtrack on CD as well as Metallica's Kill 'Em all on CD making them my first 2 CDs I ever owned. I was so excited to go home and play them on my new CD player. I miss being a kid in the 80's, riding skateboards, reading comic books and going to the Arcades to play video games. Good Times!!!

Michael, I really enjoy watching your videos.
The locations that you visit are from films I loved watching as a child: the Fog, the Lost Boys, the Goonies, etc. But especially the horror films. I have a crystallised nostalgia of staying up late with my older brother to watch horror films on the UK TV station Channel 4. They used to show horrors on Friday and Saturday night. My parents would go to the local pub just down the road (we lived in rural Ireland) and me and my bro would stay up and watch scary films on Channel 4, when the reception was good (it was terrestrial TV, before we could afford satellite). I was wayyyyyy too young to see such films, and I had the life scared out of me. But it was so much fun. I remember distinctly that Halloween scared the daylights out of me. I was probably only six or seven at the time (around 1990-91) when I saw a lot of the classic horrors.
Watching your content brings back a lot of memories. Those memories are to be cherished. It’s not just the films, it’s the specific context of *how*, *where*, *when* and *with whom* we watched them that makes the memories so special.
It’s so cool to see the locations in detail, as it really adds a sense of the innovation of old films. They really cared about the locations and stuff. And you’re always in such a positive mood in your videos, which makes them fun to watch. Great stuff, sir. I’m a big fan. 👍👍

Back in the day we referred to the Rispen Mansion as "The Monastery"
It was one of a handful of places we used to party at as teenagers.
Youre too young to remember but there used to be a sewage facilty (it mite still be there) built under the cliff near the old Capitola Theatre. You could access it on the beach by where the public restrooms are now. (Anyone one else remember the old shit house?)
Anyways, there was an old rusty heavy metal door on the cliff face. The door was made in like the 30s or 40s and had an old fashion locking latch that was so easy to unlock. Once you got inside there was a BIG cavern like room with a bunch of pumps, machinery and shit, literally. As teenagers we used to go in late at nite and drink beers or burn a bowl. It smelled real bad in there but we didnt care. After the city built the public restrooms they sealed up that metal door and moved the entrance closer to the restrooms. At which point it was to secure to get in. Plus by then Tola PD was gettin wise to us goin in there all the time. Same thing happened at Rispen.
      Good times indeed.

This was wonderful. Thank you for doing such a precise job at lining up the scenes. When the LB cave was shown, it looks like a few bats were flying around the area. Maybe a nesting spot? Or maybe tiny birds.

I'm from the bay area and we would head to Santa Cruz for fun, all the time, especially in my teens and twenties. Good times :)

The Palos Verde peninsula has a very strange history of tragedies. The other side has Cabrillo Beach. More caves but they are closed off since the early 70s. They used to have a place called Sunken City. Each year the cliffs erode into the ocean. The houses were condemned and the properties fell into the ocean. They used to have the sidewalk and it was at different levels of erosion. Probably if anything still exists it is probably fenced off with a do not ender but around the base when the tide is out they have tide pools. Giant rocks and enormous waves. It is eerily interesting. That is located on the San Pedro side.. T hey used to Marine Land but it closed in the early 80s. Occasionally sadly people have jumped off of the cliffs. Down the way they have Port O'Call. When it is open they have little shops, restaurants that overlooks the port of Los Angeles. They used to have really old ships where you could dine on. Then on the Palos Verde side they built a golf course and were going to build mansions but one day the golf course fell into the the ocean before it was open to the public. Also on that side they have the what remains of the Hermosa Beach pier. They have restaurants and shopping and during the 80s to the 90s they had a underground dance club beneath the pier. That had a VERY vamp like feeling to it.. Part of the pier still stands and was just real spooky to me wit a old submarine. They have a fun zone but it is probably not open because of the pandemic . It had to me a very haunted feeling and I loved going there. They used to have seals. They used to have food markets that had seafood places to eat with food inspired by different countries . I haven't been there in years but it was a very interesting place to visit. They also have just minutes away the haunted Queen Mary cruise liner from the 30s and was used in world War to transport troops. Almost the whole ship is haunted. They have restaurants on board and refurbished. Again probably closed due to pandemic in AmeriKa. It is fascinating to visit.

Amazing video! Thank you. I was 11 years old when this movie came out. I met Jason Patric about 12 years ago at my local gym. Of all places in the world he was shooting a TV movie at Kings Landing New Brunswick Canada and was staying in Fredericton NB. I seen him working out but didn't want to interrupt him. Then ran into him in the locker room and introduced myself. Nice guy .. just an everyday guy. No one else knew who he was until I exposed him in the locker room LOL then others where intrigued and approached him. Sorry Jason!

Growing up here in Santa Cruz I know five or six people that were in the movie. Everyone has their story of how the when the movie crew came in town and Kiefer Sutherland broke his arm on the train tracks shoot the movie with his arm in his pocket most of the time. We locals know many interesting facts about this kind stuff

I have been to the caves there in Palos Verdes so many times, even going inside at low tide. I never knew that was the cave in the movie, and I live locally in that area. I have to quiz my wife on this - she loved that movie. Thanks for the info!
