Great idea on marking the book pages for the different Arcana and suits. I may adopt that method myself. 😍
If you're ever feeling froggy I'd love to see a walkthrough of this deck compared to the RWS system and how they relate and don't relate, their similarities and so on.
I also LOVE to shuffle! It has become a calming habit for me. Thanks for sharing the pocket vs the original deck. I hope to purchase the pocket soon. The matte finish on the pocket deck is my favorite. It looked so satisfying to shuffle; I can't wait.

Image stand out so much more to me. Both are worth every penny. The guidebook from the large deck is essential I think (this deck was worth going a little deeper for me. Thank goodness this is not the case with most decks but this deck held my attention enough to do so).

When I saw the pocket deck right after it came out I was stocked! I completely agree with you about being worried about the text, but as soon as I open the pocket size I fell in love. It is crazy how much more the detail comes out, the card stock is amazing and there really is something mysterious (almost) about how different the two are. I love how you felt the same way about the smaller deck.
I love my pocket size and it’s my go to deck.
I bought one for my mom for Christmas and she feels like she finally understands tarot.
Fun story, I had brought my original deck into work for my coworker to look at, she liked it but didn’t feel the pull to have it. Then like two weeks later I purchased the pocket deck at work. I told her she had to look at it and instantly was mesmerized by it and ordered one that day.
The pocket deck feels like magic, as if the universe is in my hands.

Thank you so much for this review. I’ve always been intrigued by this deck, but I have always been put off by the different system. The cards are just so beautiful, but although I thought I’d go pocket size, I think the guidebook and titles of the big cards are better for my needs 😊
This has been my predicament too. However Lisa's walkthrough and good idea on marking the pages has helped me make up my mind 😀

Oooooh I can’t wait to watch this. Currently doing kids dinner/ bath/ story/ bedtime routine (I’m in the UK) I have the full size version Lisa and I could really use some guidance with it. I think it’s sooooo beautiful but as it seems more complex and detailed than other decks I struggle with it a bit and I’d love a vid about working with the deck specifically. Xx
Ooooh I'll add that to my list. Honestly, I work with the full size deck one card at a time (more oracle style). Some day that may change! but that's where i'm at with it, for now. :D

I bought the pocket edition as my first tarot deck, and I'm in love with it. I'm most likely gonna buy a 'truer' tarot deck since I find these are more abstract, but so far I find these helpful when used in their intended ways🥰❤ great video tho, keep it up

I heard good things about this deck. I know this deck is not for everyone. Seems like the full size deck on bigger side so I got the pocket size. This deck literally arrived on Friday~ I have looked through and I love it. I am looking forward learning this deck.
Shuffling is calming
Lisa, Thanks for such a comprehensive review and comparison. I want them both! I have small hands so the large decks are always hard. I can't shuffle any large decks.
I love to shuffle too, fyi! :) Card stock is really important to me as well as it affects the life of the deck.
yah some decks that have come out lately are really large and it makes it hard for people. I'm lucky that my hands are bigger so it's easier for me to handle larger decks.

i just got this full size deck, but the thin card worries me a little, i'm just worried they'll get damaged. I'm trying to decide if I might prefer just having the pocket deck instead.
My daughter has the Pocket Edition & she's really having trouble learning to work with it because you have to download the PDF for the guidebook & it doesn't load right.
Have you considered doing a walkthrough?🙂 Im still unsure about this deck since I dont really understand the makeup of the majors for example... come to think of it i dont get the minors either, haha. They're so very different from the r.w so a walkthrough would be awesome 😊

Hello Lisa, I'm waiting to receive this deck (either the standard or pocket edition) to work with. Both look amazing and suit their own purposes. How has the deck been connecting when doing particular readings? Do you find it leans towards certain types of readings, etc? The book in the standard edition is my type of reading when it comes to a deck that goes outside of the traditional ways of the tarot. This is like a tarot/oracle deck all in one! Look forward to your reply. :)
Hi! I still primarily work with this deck via single card pulls up to three card spreads (as I would with an oracle deck). I really enjoy the deep-dive. I haven't used the pocket as a day to day tarot for a full week yet as I'm focusing on Marseille and Pip decks at the moment, but I will certainly post a weekly deck review when I do to let you all know how it worked out as a standard deck for me! :D

That's so weird that yours didn't come with a book - BUT you can get the Dreams of Gaia Tarot app and the full guidebook is in the app - or so I've been told!
It didn't make any sense as a tarot deck i think it's better as an oracle i never really use it and I am really sorry I wasted my money on it

LOL yes, it used to be in the bedroom where I do the majority of my filming ;) It's not in my more recent videos.
