I am so excited to see that enclosure you are working on. It is one of my new dream setups, such a cool idea can't wait to see it in action!

A key tip I could let you know that would probably help beginner's fogging is making sure they aren't having it too high as well as some sort of drainage layer which you do point out a lot. I am getting ready to do some big changes to my cage, as well as get some of the material from home depot for a hybrid cage you guys talked about in drainage video! With some foggers the water can build up pretty quick

Ive been grass roots marketing chameleon academy like crazy this past month 😅. Everytime I see a beginner asking questions on reddit or tiktok I tell them to check out our community. Its definitely the most supportive and informative one I’ve come across 💪 I’ve had at least 5 people say they learned a lot during a live session

Just wondering how the other species in the community enclosure might react to the low temps that a machakos needs at night. I just remember they need a pretty big drop to like the high 50s low 60s

I would have to keep the drop to about 65 for the dart frog so this is one of the things I am debating. (The gecko would be no problem.)

I use all of the hydrstions methods but i was told by a admin in a panther chameleon facebook group that to only fog when the temperature is 65degrees or lower if its any higher i was told that my panther chameleon could get respiratory issues. Is this true by any means because i cant ever get my cage lower than 69 degrees at night time.

Most husbandry "rules" have many facets to them. The rule that Petr is providing is an easy one to follow that has a high chance of success. And that is why he makes that line. An RI comes from the body's immune system being compromised. At what point the moisture content breathed in is physically stressful is unknown. But fogging at 65F is a high confidence point. I am sorry that there isn't a black and white answer to your question. Nature doesn't care about our need for definitive answers! The best you can do when starting off is pick a community you enjoy and learn as much as you can from them knowing that others will do it differently and have different levels of success. Just beware of picking individual parts from different communities. All of these husbandry methods are deeply dependent on the way the other parameters are presented. Did that make sense? It is difficult giving a true answer to a topic that is so complex. Would fogging at 69 be so much different? Probably not, but that doesn't mean it is wrong to shoot for 65 when giving short sound bite statements on the internet.

@ChameleonAcademy I am in the panther chameleons group and I talk to todd arban that is a admin in a lot of reptile groups he has rehomed many reptiles and I get a lot of my information from him. Also I've been trying to find a video for combing both xl cages together a step by step process would be excellent.

@ChameleonAcademy oh sweet that's awesome I actually have two really great 3d printers k1 max and p1s with the ams so that would definitely help. I love reptiles and 3d printing so I wanted to start my own business and kind of combine them together.
