    You didn't show the part where one of the mounting points on the spal had to be ground down or did you receive a unit that had equal mounting points?

      You are right! I'm sorry I completely forgot to include that, but yes I had to cut one of the bolt channels shorter with a drummel tool cutting wheel because it made the fan sit uneven and the mounting bolts weren't long enough. Also: I could only get 2 of the 3 holes to line up with the oem mounting hardware.

      Ahhh I thought spal fixed the new batch of fans making all the holes equal. So far every video I watched was able to align all 3 holes. What do you think is the issue with yours? I'm about to install mine tomorrow so I'd love to find out any issues that I may face

      @@sweetpotato6529 I couldn't get all 3 mounting bolts to work because the bolt channels on the new fan were spaced too far apart and there was no way to fix the issue without getting an extra mounting bracket that gives more mounting positions. You may want to get some mounting brackets (the generic strips of metal with the holes already cut into them) : one for the top and one for the bottom to give you more mounting options. You would also need to get more nuts and bolts of a similar size to the OEM ones since the OEM ones will be used to mount the brackets. That way you can use all 3 mounting points for a more secure connection. I hope that helps!

      @@FaerodynMoto a little update on my progress, I managed to fit all 3 mounting points with no problems. I noticed the mounting bolts for the fan are cammed so it may be a case of your bolt being in the wrong orientation?

      @@sweetpotato6529 oh nice, good job bro! They must have changed the mounting hardware, my mounting bolts weren't cammed. The metal tabs of the radiator that holds them in place were fixed just a bit too narrow for the wider diameter of those on the new fan. The difference was a lot. I'm wondering if they sent me the wrong fan and yet I was somehow able to make it work?

    Can I upgrade this Spal fan to My KTM Duke 200 and please make a detailed video on exact Clutch measurement and free play in this KTM bikes for optimal performance n mileage...Thanks😊

      @FaerodynMoto  Рік тому

      Hello @cah7925 ! I'm not 100% sure about your Duke 200, but it looks like the Spal fan works across multiple KTM models. It runs a 12 volt current, so if your Duke's fan is a 12 volt fan, I don't see why it wouldn't work. If the holes for the mounting bolts don't line up, you may need to get univeesal flat strip brackets to help you mount the fan on the radiator. I hope that helps! :-)

      *I think* one is the radiator boil-over drain hose for coolant, the other is a drain hose connected to the charcoal canister (emissions system). They are both held in place by the left side fairing and just dangle there when you remove it.

    @FaerodynMoto I am planning to install 2 Spal fan on my KTM RC 390. I noticed that in your video that you removed the fan pin from the spal connecter and then move the fan pin to the KTM connecter. Can i connect 4 pins in the same connecter (positive postive pair) and ( negative negative pair), will that work? Or do i need to cut the wires and solider them?

    • @FaerodynMoto
      @FaerodynMoto  3 місяці тому +1

      I can't remember if there was enough room in the stock wiring harness to fit 2 wire leads into each slot or not, but you might want to be careful: you'd be putting double the load on a circuit that's only meant to power 1 fan. You might end up shorting the fuse, or the fans might not spin at the proper RPM to move the volume of air through the radiator that you would need to keep the bike cool. You might have to run a second power lead wire to the second fan.

    Hi, very helpful video! I want to do it to my rc 390. I have just one doubt: after an year, did you have any kind of problem with electric system (as a consequence for upgrading the fan with a most powerful one)? Please let me know what you think about that. Thanks

      Hello @alessioievolella and thank you for the kind words! I am still riding my RC390 with no issues at all, the fan still works great and I haven't noticed any issues with the electrical system. The temps are much lower and the bike cools off faster than it did before. Thanks again!

    Will the coolant gush out from the overflow tank when i remove the radiator cap?

    • @FaerodynMoto
      @FaerodynMoto  2 роки тому

      Not if the overflow tank cap is still on tight. Some coolant may leak out, but it won't really flow out unless the cap on top of the overflow reservoir is loose or removed.

    This is a very known issue with the KTM engines 125/200/390 right?
    This scares me of owning one as I'm looking now to buy one! Saw already a few videos and this keeps me staying alert! On the other hand it's an amazing bike very agiled with a great performance! Don't know what to do :-) 😩😩😩

    • @FaerodynMoto
      @FaerodynMoto  2 роки тому +2

      To be fair, unmodified my bike never had any issues. It wasn't until I really modified the exhaust and intake that the temps went up. From what I've read it's because they tend to run lean from the factory. So when we drastically increase air flow, the computer doesn't provide enough fuel- leading to higher engine temps.

      @@ricardopinto1765 the fan was almost plug-and-play. For my 2017 the wire leads are oriented perpendicular, but the fan had the wire leads parallel. All I had to do was swap the plastic wire harness from the original fan onto the new fan and then everything worked perfectly. It was pretty easy, I show you how to do it in the video if you should run into the same problem. :-)

    • @FaerodynMoto

      I suppose you could just use a drill and Dremel tool to cut out sections of the fan shroud to let it breathe better, just be careful not to cut through the wires.
