    Thanks so much for doing these videos. I love the runtime testing! I saw the results of this one on your spreadsheet, had to hunt down this video. The output and features vs. the size really makes me want one!

    Bought it and love it. I carry it around with my class B van. The remote start is really nice. And I can live with the small tank and it being slightly louder than competitors.

    I got really excited about this unit until I read reviews on amazon and tractor supply website. The comments did speak too highly. Any ideas why?

    Glad to see the genmax is doing well, as you know I have the GM3300i. You are dead on about the gas tank size really being the limited factor on these, but like you, I can deal with that since the form factor of 50# is so much better. My predator 3500 was over 110#. - Kyle

      Those predators are great, I met someone who had 5,000 hours on his hour meter! They are just so stinking heavy!

      They also make a fuel pump that can attach to a marine style fuel tank. It replaces the gas cap and transfers fuel to the generator when its tank gets low. So if extended run time is a concern you can pick up a bigger marine fuel tank and run it for days without refueling. Or run it off propane

    I'm enjoying this series. I've been looking for a generator to use as a backup at an off-grid property I have. I'm really curious about the efficiency when used with propane for generators. thanks for doing this series of videos!

      Awesome, glad you’re enjoying it! I made a similar video for the propane side of this machine last fall. It is linked here: Dual Fuel Inverter Generator Duration Load Test - Genmax 3500 (GM3500iAED)

      @@theconnectedcamper Thanks. I missed that video. I'll check it out

    If you DO need it to run all night to run an AC, you can use propane with a 20 lb tank which should get you through until morning.

    I'm working on my mods for my New to me 2020 Wolf pup which is much like your rig. I'm struggling with the thought of getting full solar and praying for it to last a week. I have camped a ton in the north east and your normally under trees and cloudy conditions (The great lakes produce copious amount of clouds). So I'm thinking a propane generator maybe more reliable at$600-$800 with 300-400Ah lithium versus $1500 solar setup with inverter and all the wiring. So if you could do a video on how much propane it takes and the drop in efficiency on propane. From talking to a lot of people at RV parks and campgrounds think slap a few solar panels on the roof and your good to go for 2-3 weeks!

      I’ve already got you covered! ua-cam.com/video/A6nEHBrCqCE/v-deo.html
      Definitely not as easy as just slapping solar panels on, but also not super complicated either. Propane is great as it is easier to handle, the problem is you will need quite a few canisters if you are running the genny every day. Fill ups can be someone difficult to find too.

    Have you used your Genmax GM3500Iaed in high elevation areas ? And if so did you have to replace the jet and did you run it on propane or fuel ?

      Just a few weeks ago we were at 9,000 feet in Colorado. I did not adjust the carb or jetting and it did fine on 87 octane gasoline. You could tell it was working a little harder, but it still did everything I needed without overloading. Thanks for watching :)

    On your video you stated how long it runs on gas but have you tested it on propane ? How long will it run your 15k on propane ?

      Hey Tim, not as controlled of an experiment, but here is a video where I did this exact test: Dual Fuel Inverter Generator Duration Load Test - Genmax 3500 (GM3500iAED)

    Does your generator "Sputter" or "Pop" while in use? For a lack of better words, I'm getting some Stuttering going on.

      It does! I’ve heard it in other videos on the internet. When under load it runs perfect, but has a slight miss when under no load. Pretty normal and doesn’t hurt a thing. Thanks for watching!

      Mine did that at first but after I changed oil it was much better.

    This is electric start? WOnder how bad the propane run is? Dual fuel is nice if you already carry propane on your trailer. Also, I wonder if it starts harder in the cold with propane. Run up to the North Pole and see how it does for us...lol

    • @theconnectedcamper
      @theconnectedcamper  Рік тому +1

      I have heard they are difficult to run in colder weather on propane. I’ll make a note to try that this winter when its -10F here!

    We can't get ours to start after using it three times -- we cannot get ahold of this company in any way. If you have any problem with this, there is NO support.

    • @theconnectedcamper
      @theconnectedcamper  Рік тому

      Hi Pam, that's too bad. Does it turn over? Is there fuel in it? You may have a bad low oil sensor or a bad CO2 sensor. I've had good luck reaching out to their support, just keep in mind they are in China and it may be a 24 hour turnaround between responses. Thanks for watching! :)
