Poles can probably learn Latin a lot more naturally than say, English speakers. The vocabulary is very different, but the old Indo-European declension grammar of Slavic languages is shared with Latin. A Romance native speaker would be more familiar with the vocabulary, but the grammar of Latin is actually closer to our type of case based grammar (I speak Slovak that works in the same way) than to modern Romance languages. The pattern of thinking would also be similiar due to the way the languages connect words, so speaking Latin for a Pole would feel more natural than to an English or Chinese speaker for example.

Latin is such a noble language. VERY few languages have such nobility. In my humble experience I would list Farsi, Armenian, Sardo and Middle Japanese as the only few that come close.
This film has the best Latin accent I've heard in any film. I speak some romance languages and one tends to hear either Italian or Spanish accents that sound awful for ancient Latin. Kudos for the director and actors. I look forward for any future project he may have. I did not hear any Slavic accent they all speak a very convincing classical Latin.
To be fair actors speak just with Polish accent. As a Pole I away thoght that we have not any accent or we have very weak. Mayby its because of that you concider this latin good. Weak accent is closer to no accent especialy in compare with strong accents languages.
Nobody really knows, I get it ,but you just need to hear the difference. The Italian latin is heavily influenced by medieval latin. If you see the movie "The Passion" the conversation between Jesus and Pilate you can hear that Jesus speaks a better approach to classical that the roman's Italian accent.

Lengua latina pulcher est
Cachoeira1986 Brasileñ@? Felicidades!! Generó usted un locutorio en latín Saludos desde México
For the Emperor Otho and algorithm. Nicely done.
You did better than Hollywood would with much more resources.
This is outstandingly good for a low budget film, good job !!
Niespotykana konwencja filmu. Tragiczna historia. Piekna muzyka . Ave Conradum ;)
Latin is such a noble language. VERY few languages have such nobility. In my humble experience I would list Farsi, Armenian, Sardo and Middle Japanese as the only few that come close.
Jak na studenta -- wybitne! Jakby powiedział Kolski -- prawdziwe. Życzę wielu sukcesów!
I'm in my second year of Latin and it's so cool being able to understand bits and pieces of what is being said without the subtitles!
Superb....the ageless theme of history....Life is hard....
I can't believe this was a student film. This had me from start to finish! Amazinggggg!
Can you tell me what they Say in latin from part 13:30 ?
You don't even know what was Classical Latin accent, but you are sure that a Polish accent is closer to it than an Italian accent. OK.
@@ruyaal - We do know pretty well what Classical Latin sounded like. Plenty of vids about it on youtube.
Just so happens that the old Latin vowel values are fairly close to those in modern Polish, which haven’t ‘rotated’ much in centuries.
Amazing! The film captures the politics, the brutality, and treacherous emotions of the time. It was exciting and tense film to watch. I am sure you will be making many more! Thank you!
I enjoyed this very much gives life to the Latin language wish there were more movies like this one.
This is a freaking Masterpiece. Keep making them.....
Wow... never expect it... Classic, dignified, beautiful & at the same time a so academic language to express life... Hope more films in Latin...
I'm so amazed by this movie, such a great job guys, and the latin obviously, wonderful
Optimissime! There should be more of these kinds of films! At least more dubbings of Gladiator.
This is so much better than any film of the past where the King's Englidh was substituted for Latin. I took 4 years of Latin in High School and I learned to speaK Polish at home. This movie was quite a treat!
Excellent short film about a turbulent time in Imperial Rome, and a little known, short-lived Emperor. Well done!
69 - The Year of the Four Emperors,
WOW this movie is better than all that crap coming from Hollywood today...and is a Student made movie... Outstanding...Great Job guys.
Excellent Hollywood class production and in every other respect. The Latin is great, the parts are well played. Much better than the student work at UCLA in my opinion. Bravo for this brilliant production. Poland seems to be blooming like a rose....
Yes, in spite of the genocides against her by Nazis and Communists.
This film crew deserves a bigger budget, and a bigger story. I'd be willing to pay good money to see their treatment of the Teutoburg massacre, and the events leading up to it. Perhaps this film team could also give us a definitive movie about the Siege of Vienna in 1683, complete with Poland to the rescue, of course.
I'm wanting MORE. That is the hallmark of a production done right.
The authentic language adds a marvellous touch of realism!
Thank you for a thought presentation of one man's timeless struggle with love. That for his wife and the Empire he loved.
A million salute to the creators of this video especially for the language usage.
Excellent production. You don't need great CGI or large battles, but good acting is enough to take you there.
I'm form Italy and i saw this video only to hear my ancestor, but this is a hiden gem!
Good job!
Rome is pround of you!💪🏻
