Overall, a very well done and well-presented video with solid, useful and balanced information. I'm sorry you did not have a good experience when you worked as an under-assistant in Switzerland. Not speaking the predominant language of the region is a massive hurdle. 2 issues: When moving to the German speaking part of Switzerland, you do not have to LEARN Swiss German (your choice of words). What you MUST learn is to UNDERSTAND Swiss German. That is a whole different ball game. When you say, French speaking Cantons will not hire you if you come from Germany, that information is extremely incomplete. The actual information is: the Swiss healthcare system is very much based on the doctor and her patient knowing each other, having a relationship built on trust and meaningful communication. For this reason, a foreigner coming to Switzerland must demonstrate in clear terms that he/she has the lingual communication abilities to have meaningful and deep conversations with her patients to fully be able to address this human being and service their actual needs. I find this approach extremely laudable and it has nothing to do with coming from Germany means "not being hired" by the French speaking Swiss. Vacation days: 20 days paid vacation per year is the statutory MINIMUM that every employee in the country receives. Nobody I know - especially not in the medical field, where health organizations are tripping over each other to attract qualified personnel, does anyone receive less than 25 days paid vacation per year. Many receive 30 days. Your mis-perception could stem from the fact that in Germany, most everything is government mandated. In Switzerland, more is left to the individuals, self-actuation, the health organizations, and the free market.
Why would the french part of Switzerland or for that matter even Italian part would hire you if you come from Germany! Unless you speak their languages?

I'm planing on going to Germany next year (need to work on my German skills a bit more) to do the exams and start residency, as I'm interested in training in anesthesiology I'm certainly asking you for any kind of video you can make about the specialty in Germany, it could be anything: what are programs like, rotations, it would even be great if you could do a vlog telling us how is your day as a anesthesiology resident. In germany depending on the region you can check for each speciality in which field you need to work and for how long so that at the end of the 5 years you can become a facharzt. I was curious if such a thing exists in Switzerland or if they organise your residency for you (the whole 5-6 years). Thank you in advance :)
In Switzerland it is a bit more complicated. Hospitals divide in A1,A2,B, and C Levels. In order to complete a residency you must complete a minimum amount of time in an A1 Hospital and you are allowed to be at other types of hospitals such as B and C but after a certain amount of months the time spent there wouldn't count for the residency anymore. As a result most residents change hospitals 3-4 times during the residency in order to become Facharzt.

However, I have heard some rumours that every now and then exceptional cases can be considered and can get an express recognition. Being Swiss, you could give it a try and contact MEBEKO directly
Best of luck
Guys if I am a non eu citizen but have a medical diploma from Italy (eu diploma) am I still eligible to apply for a medical residency in Switzerland? I heard that non eu citizens are not eligible do medical residency in Switzerland even if they have an eu medical diploma!
Hai i am doctor from india. I just wanna does i need 3 yrs of experience to apply for swiss degree.
Do you regret doing your specialisation in Germany? How long do you usually work?
No regrets so far :D everything has its pro`s and cons, and in germany you get to learn very very fast :D I usually stick to my 8 Hours per day schedule and rarely need to do extra hours... although not all medical doctors get to be that lucky
At the end of the day u r where u r happy
I have a question do you study in EU or do you have EU passport ?
Hi, I am a last year med student from the US, and I am super interested in knowing more about Switzerland and how to practice there. I have relatives is Geneve, but I cant figure out much about the what is necesary. Do you have an email I can write you? Maybe you could guide somehow. Than you!
Hey there
No Email, but I have an Instagram, you can write me there. Be advised though that most of what I know is already in a UA-cam video one way or another :D
If you get rid of the music, it will be easier to understand what you are saying.

Hi Dr am from India too have u found out the pathway of becoming Dr. In Switzerland yet
Hi, I would like to thank you for your videos, they're extremely helpful and informative.
Now, if I choose the Indirekte Annerkennung pathway (having gotten the Approbation in Germany and having worked over three years there) but I am NOT a citizen of the EU/EEFTA (more precisely, I am a Colombian citizen). Do I have a chance at getting my diploma recognized in Switzerland? or is it strictly necessary to meet the EU/EEFTA citizenship or partner with EU/EEFTA citizenship requirement?
same question here, if I am non eu but got a medical diploma from italy am I eligible to apply for residency in Switzerland?

Do NOT move to switzerland BEFORE you have your medical degree from your country.
Its just too expensive and doesnt really help.
If you do that, you will be studying AND working for money for the first 6 years.

The great advantage of UA-cam - anybody is able to provide stupid content and can lie without any basic knowledge and without being held liaible for their content.
Yeah, and anyone is able to post a nonsense reply without a proper argument. Why don't you share your wisdom so we can all get a grasp of your invaluable knowledge on the subject? 🙄
@Gerd Papenburg Why so rude and disrespectful ? -_- his content is the most useful and ''straight to the point'' i've ever seen ! he even gives his honest opinions in a kind & polite way ! So cut the BS
