Ok...imma try to explain this as nicely as I can. Siri isn’t going to hit the same level as other personal assistants. For one main reason: User Privacy. Google and Android record your search queries in order to be proactive your next potential request. This data mining is labeled with your name and user ID and it is most definitely used to target ads and tweak algorithms. Siri on the other hand doesn’t do that. Every Siri request is given an anonymous random serial number, before the request is sent to a server and the answer returned. This is why you need internet to use it. There’s only a couple things that are really stored by Siri for each user. Voice recognition data in order to compensate for dialects and recognize things like “hey Siri” and whatever you tell Siri to refer to you as.
Julio Rod especially since they keep upping the screen size, you would think they’d optimize landscape functions. Big screen should fit two windows lol
Brittany A. are you like a child? why does that shit even matter to you? you should be more worried about who takes an idea and does it best, not who does it first that shit is so immature no one cares about "AnDrOiD DiD iT FirST" androids didnt even come out with a solid smart phone until a year after iphone 3g came out in like 2006. So if anything androids been copying apple since day one.
VISION0STUDIO yeah..... and people are like "why not use a real measuring tape?" It was created to fulfill its absence. Its not like you are gonna always have a tape with you !
Saves storage? No.. its another app added by Apple, but that app takes storage as well. However, I do believe this to be a lot more accurate than the existing ones as it uses the next generation AR-kit, and not the one available now on iOS 11. Do love how Apple has managed to make AR be such a fantastic thing on the iPhones during the last year. Amazing how great it has been working.. and will be working when we now get MULTIPLAYER!
All of these things were desperately needed. I'm glad Apple chose to focus on refinement, speed and stability with this version instead of purely new features. I'm most excited for the grouped notifications and GMaps/Waze on CarPlay, two of my biggest complaints with iOS fixed.
Saw this too. Was wondering if that was a real thing, or a bunch of simulated texts so he can check out the features without showing us all his personal messages.
Samson L yeaaah you’ve been able to do that for years now he just seems to like to ignore common knowledge/put zero effort into researching anything... lol
Shengzhi Wang™ except he also does yearly iPhone reviews and he has been to the last few WWDCs so unless he was plugging his ears he should definitely know this
Apple is doing great thing with AR. And that's what it is doing good, rest every thing Android had or Android apps were able to do in past. Again kudos to Apple just for AR STUFF
kewal pasad Its good apple has finally introduced things that android has had in the past. Thats one step further away from me owning and android, fortunately.
Either google copy from apple or apple copy from google. They give those features when people need and hardware is prepared for that. Don’t argue about that. Google and Apple both best in their own position
What do you mean by "interact with notifications while they're still in the tray?" You can slide left for a context menu around a notification or 3D touch it to interact. What more do you want? You don't have to slide right or tap a notification and open an app, especially not if you use Apple apps.
Yes. You have to hold first. However the video is was suggesting that you could never swipe up even after holding. Saying you used to have to tap the x to close the app after holding.
I also have the X so i dont really know what youre getting at. I use ios 12 and the red - is not there. You swipe and hold from the bottom to open multitasking and then i swipe an app up to close it
Kai Vogler No.. SwishSwoosh is right, I have a 6S (I will not get a phone without a headphone jack) and it has been double tap home button to tile open apps and then swipe up to shut them down for YEARS. The reason YOU can’t do this (before now) is because you don’t have a home button.
Alex Crocker No they didnt, individual devs changed it on some apps. Apple themselves never did, but I do think that it will come with the full release of ios12
You can actually act on some notifications when they’re on the notification tray! Use the 3D touch on the notification. Works on most apps, better on some than others
Not saying they stole it but saying it is not a new concept. Not even worth headlining in a 2018 IOS update! Cyril TV 3D Touch. Anyway, you can swipe the notification to the left and tap the ‘view’ button to do the same thing. I have no clue how Marques uses an iPhone everyday and still doesn’t know that that’s a thing.
Kay Deep unless you play a lot of games on your phone or have kids wanting to play games on your phone like I do. Then the 7 will be just fine. But for graphic intense games I would go to the x. The 7 is still a very good phone but I just got the X for longer battery life and bigger screen.

Marques. I'm definitely more of an Android fan than Apple fan but you CAN act on notifications from the notificatin shade. Try 3D touching the notifications.
Siri is so bad I asked it once who played Indiana Jones and it just gave me all the Indiana Jones movies. But then I asked Alexa and Google this exact same question and it actually gave me the actors name. Good going Apple!
You can technically act on a notification by 3D Touch. Long press the notification and It gives you neat options to reply or trash a message/email/tweet
A few years down the line? You cam do a ton with notifications even now just by long pressing/3d touching the notification depending what phone you have. Works incredibly well and I reply to all messages without opening the app. For different apps it also gives you a preview of some content, like a picture and gives you shortcuts specific to the app. Super useful.

Terah T. Then after you clicked download allow it and it will take you to settings then install and reboot your device and you will see iOS 12 update in software update settings.
297W it's great everything works the way it did before and even faster on launching camera and some other apps, and it's quite stable didn't seen any major problems or any bugs that would cause problems.
waquzy No problem! It gonna run very good for you because SE is pretty fast unlike my iPad mini 3 or iPhone 6 even on these it runs a lot faster than on iOS 11.
I'm an Android users and there's way too many Android fanboys in the comments, Android P copied a shit ton of stuff from iOS, iOS 12 copied a shit ton from Android, that's just how it works now guys
Marques try to use this framing from now on! This framing allows the new taller display on phones to be on full screen with out cropping on your hair whenever you are talking like in all the other videos :v
THANK YOUUUUU for removing that terrible quick screenshot when I accidentally press both buttons on the phone to unlock it. That’s been annoying the shit out of me!
you're able to act upon the notifications on the lock screen by simply pressing down the notification enables the 3d touch to act upon the notifications.
Lol dont even try to compare the s9 the iPhone x. The s9 is better but you apple fan boys womt admit it. I had an iPhone last year and then tried the s9 and I'm not going back to apple.
SMohinder You must really like that new feature that allows Messages to send out your photo library to random people in your Contacts. And if you don’t want it to, it can send your entire photo gallery. What’s really cool though is that it can do this without leaving any trace that it’s shared all of your private photos with whoever it decides to send them to. It’s transparent. It’s like magic. 🤣
Steve Steele Is that really all you have to say? It asks you if you want it to and you can just turn it off. If you aren't capable of dealing with such a thing then dont use a Samsung.
This is classic Apple trick .. Grouped Notifications were already a part of the original apple devices but Apple just screwed 'em up and is now dishing 'me out again with garnishing !! 😄
Everyone will switch to apple at one point mostly because of the really powerful and lasting hardware with optimised software. I was in love with Android/phones Samsung s8 (I still love android tho) but after i swtiched to ios iPhone 7 (My sister introduced it to me) everything became faster no hassle , job done , clean os. I finally realised... why was I wasting my time.... 🤣
Except for the much-revised Notifications system (way overdue!) and the revised Animoji system for iMessage, most of the changes for iOS 12.0 compared to iOS 11.x versions are for better performance and bug fixes. Indeed, developers who have installed the first iOS 12.0 beta noticed substantial performance improvements with older iPhones with 64-bit SoC's that only have 1 GB of RAM, namely the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

What have you done?
Rafael Rincón exactly my thought when i read this.
I dont even know 32 people, but I'm still excited about the group FaceTime feature
YOOO TPINDELL IT'S YOU!! WHAT THE FUCK
Great video, for me the biggest feature is stability and performance improvement
Also the new iPad gestures and the smooth animations are underrated
Gaber Jr. is there any video where how the os update changes the interface for ipad?
Bring dark mode to ios please!

The measure app works best on things that are smaller and closer, so good idea
PleasureMeasure the new dating app. Whip it out baaaaaaaabyy!
iPhone needs split screen/view multi tasking.
Julio Rod especially since they keep upping the screen size, you would think they’d optimize landscape functions. Big screen should fit two windows lol

Christian Chavez even ipad air 2 is able to do this, and the newer iphones have better chips.

LOVE the new wake screen option. No more useless screenshots!!!
now I'm hoping they let me choose the battery percentage over the battery icon!
Ios 16.1 just had it😅😂
All of these things were desperately needed. I'm glad Apple chose to focus on refinement, speed and stability with this version instead of purely new features. I'm most excited for the grouped notifications and GMaps/Waze on CarPlay, two of my biggest complaints with iOS fixed.
Dwayne Johnson in iMessage...

Saw this too. Was wondering if that was a real thing, or a bunch of simulated texts so he can check out the features without showing us all his personal messages.
You’ve been able to act on notifications directly for quite a while. Both 3D Touch and swiping left are ways to interact with them.
“Hey siri, i am home alone with a tissue box”
opens incognito
hey siri, lets have fun
Lmao
Watching this with iOS 17
Watching this with iOS 12
Watching this with an Android

Not on all notifications though. Depends on the app.
Savoury Lobster ...so exactly the same as android
Put zero effort into researching *anything* .. Get lost

Please do another comparison between Google assistant, Siri and Bixby....
Assistant will still win
Assistant has it in the bag but he’d be better off waiting until September

Debesh Jena google already wins but Siri has been improving
dude i switched from a galaxy s7 to an iphone 7 and ive quickly realised how much better google assistant is
Those symmetric black and red colours on either side in the background were a treat to the eyes!

You can respond to text messages in the Notification Center. I just hold down the message and respond.

Justin Y. Hey bro

Justin Y. Keep dreaming
Apple would have to do better on gaming on their laptops as a start.
i recently just updated my ios to 12, on the iphone 8
Either google copy from apple or apple copy from google. They give those features when people need and hardware is prepared for that. Don’t argue about that. Google and Apple both best in their own position
Md Shakawat Google is obviously copying Apple!! Def Software and soon to be hardware.
What's with the Android vs. Apple,Can't we just agree they both get features at different rates.
Sister Solar Siri is bad tho
G G how
Sister Solar it’s just bad compared to others
Sister Solar it's pretty stupid how long it takes apple to adopt simple features you can't deny that
jfitz492 I just switched to apple two days ago. Yeah I can’t argue.
holy shit, the jump from last year to this year is HUGE. new set, new mic, and a lower pitched voice

@@kapy3271 why new OS is nice asf I use iOS 16
Thanks for breaking this down, I always have a hard time deciphering new iOS features.
The close apps by sliding up (not using the red x) has been in iOS 11 since the iPhone X was released.
Kai Vogler Nope. If you swipe up on an app it closes
Yes. You have to hold first.
However the video is was suggesting that you could never swipe up even after holding. Saying you used to have to tap the x to close the app after holding.
you swipe ut and hold, which is the same as double clicking the home button onnothet devices and then you swipe up on the app and it dhits down
I also have the X so i dont really know what youre getting at. I use ios 12 and the red - is not there. You swipe and hold from the bottom to open multitasking and then i swipe an app up to close it

How did he not touch on the still unchanged, ridiculously huge volume UI?
They changed that in iOS 11. It is much smaller now.
It works better on smaller objects
Alex Crocker - Looks like you're not using iOS
Alex Crocker No they didnt, individual devs changed it on some apps. Apple themselves never did, but I do think that it will come with the full release of ios12

Watching this after ios15 release and reading this comments gets me like man what were we thinking back then 😂 lmao
“Fix the rest of Siri”.
Bruh, apparently you have not tried to use Bixby. The Note 9 needs something on the Siri-level, because it sucks.
Like Google Assistant?
Grouped notifications was the only thing holding me back from going to the next iPhone. I think I'm sold now.
MKBHD if you go into the app store and download the workflow app from apple it has the same ui as the tasks app
Dude, you can get the tasks app on the App store as well... But that workflow app is also prtty sick...
Workflow is owned by Apple and thats the reason for Siri shortcuts
Apple acquired the Workflow app/team about a year ago.
Skull tongue is kinda weird!
That grouped notification feature is a tweak I have for jailbreak, really clean and useful
Is it kinda sad that animoji makes an OS top feature list?
David In not really. Animoji is pretty fun! I legit only have conversations with some people through Animojis at this point lol

if u try to facetime someone and want to reverse the camera, you have to swipe from down to up to reverse the camera that's how they messed up facetime.

Try 3D Touch on the notifications. Smh.

You can download Google Assistant on the App Store but it will be somewhat restricted because it’s not native to the iPhone so some things will not work as good as they would on an android phone. But if you want a quick test you can download it and check it out.

J-Dog230 yeah I've done that, but like you said it's restricted on iPhone, so it's not an accurate comparison.

Btw I’m gonna install it on my iPhone 6 as well.
Terah T. Just search on google iOS 12 developer beta profile download
I’m loving my SE under the new iOS 12
I'm an Android users and there's way too many Android fanboys in the comments, Android P copied a shit ton of stuff from iOS, iOS 12 copied a shit ton from Android, that's just how it works now guys
Evan Eaton exactly, i dont get why people are still fighting for OSes for so many years, its basically the same thing now
When a person buys an android he is an android fan boy... And if he have an iOS device he is a apple fan boy. It's not the os.. It's the people 🤣
“Everyone gets a tongue, so cool”
that group notif is heaven! finallyyy!
Is anyone else here right after iOs 14 came out?
Yo🤘 Just to relive iOS 12 as a nostalgia...
Marques try to use this framing from now on! This framing allows the new taller display on phones to be on full screen with out cropping on your hair whenever you are talking like in all the other videos :v
Ivan Rivas wise man
THANK YOUUUUU for removing that terrible quick screenshot when I accidentally press both buttons on the phone to unlock it. That’s been annoying the shit out of me!
Apple finally decides to get notification stacks... it's 2018😑
M S yeah they're slowly working there way to being as good as Android a few years ago
Top iOS 12 Feature: Ability to run Fortnite.
Checkmate, Android scrubs.
Android is getting fortnight and galaxy note 9 get their own skin
Fortnight is a fuck boi game. You ios people are so cute.♥
Uhh fortnite is on samsung
... expect for iPhone 6 and lower
Played Fortnite on Note 9... controls and graphics both are fucked up.. PUBG for life!
you're able to act upon the notifications on the lock screen by simply pressing down the notification enables the 3d touch to act upon the notifications.
Love your charachter 😍
Some people see a stolen feature from Android, I see one less reason to own an Android ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Lol dont even try to compare the s9 the iPhone x. The s9 is better but you apple fan boys womt admit it. I had an iPhone last year and then tried the s9 and I'm not going back to apple.
Apple is simply trying to catch up with android
Enjoy your S9, I like my iphone x
SMohinder You must really like that new feature that allows Messages to send out your photo library to random people in your Contacts. And if you don’t want it to, it can send your entire photo gallery. What’s really cool though is that it can do this without leaving any trace that it’s shared all of your private photos with whoever it decides to send them to. It’s transparent. It’s like magic. 🤣
Steve Steele Is that really all you have to say? It asks you if you want it to and you can just turn it off. If you aren't capable of dealing with such a thing then dont use a Samsung.
This Brother is the best Tech Guy on UA-cam on Information.
So how does one take a screenshot if needed in the iOS 12?
Pete :")
Damn Dwanye Johnson in your iMessages
This is classic Apple trick .. Grouped Notifications were already a part of the original apple devices but Apple just screwed 'em up and is now dishing 'me out again with garnishing !! 😄
I was expecting i-Duplex :/
iJustine is on iOS 12, she is also looking for ppl to test out group FaceTime 😬
Best feature yet. Slowing down on older iPhones. Does not matter if you have updated or not.
Watching this in 2023 with xs with iOS 12.5
Dont have any app compatibly issues?
HAHA last iOS 12 to come on FaceID iPhones was iOS 12.4.1
what are you talking about 😂
Go look it up
Everyone will switch to apple at one point mostly because of the really powerful and lasting hardware with optimised software.
Even the galaxy note 3 has split screen multitasking lol
So everybody is gonna buy an iPhone X for their own Memoji.
Savage Zone correction: everyone is going to take out a payday loan for an iPhone X for their own MeMoji.
Then others will buy a mansion from the 10000000 dollars they saved on the samsung s9+
@@brydonthunder 😂😂😂
everyone with ios12 has a Memoji, they just don’t have animoji
iOS have improved a lot better.. That app usage limit is the best feature.
Love my pixel 2 xl so much, iPhone x is 2nd
As a die hard apple fan, I think that the google pixel 2 is the best phone
